@lokoneG Well, you're still young, and I'll assume you just need some proper seasoning. Schoenberg wrote very little "classical music." He played around with some interesting sounds, but had little sense of melody or counterpoint. I'll take Bach...any and all Bach...every time. Listen to any of his organ fugues, his counterpoint studies in the 2 and 3 part inventions, or even his solo instrument concertos...and then try to find anything remotely that clear in Schoenberg's work.

I am a metalhead, and I love this music. I mean, guitar solo's are one thing in a song, and banging your head like an idiot at a concert is fun, but I love this music. The level of intricacy and the timing of the instruments is astounding. The level of difficulty of writing a full peice for an entire concerto is almost to much to be imagined. It saddens me that until more people start realizing the beauty of this music, music as great as this will never be made again.

@andymci2 Considering a majority of teens today are wrapped up in Justin Bieber and other pop "music", it's nice when us teenagers (such as myself) can appreciate the beauty of classical. I've never said that it makes them superior, so if you could not put words in my mouth that would be great. Everyone has a right to listen to what they want, I personally think classical is better than other music. But that is just my opinion.

@andymci2 Apparently its not cool to like the music of your generation anymore. Most kids go to Indie Rock because it has elements of 70s rock like Led Zeppelin with a hint of acoustic disco. Some think it's better to go back many many generations for their music. Personally I like modern metal, it has the raw emotion of classical music, yet carries the weight of life's stresses and crushes you with their beautiful darkness.

I would say though, the amount of work, effort and talent that has gone into music from renaissance to classical totally tops the effort and talent behind todays music. Beethoven composed one of his best symphonies entirely in his head because he had turned completely death! Mozart could repeat anything after hearing it once. Unbelievable, and now we have some guy who just learns how to use a software?
