sounded like she was a little lean.i bet a mikuni pumper,not sure of what size you might need.Sudco sells jets,carbs and whatever you might need.if that carb is off of a two stroke it may never run like it should and it will be a bear to start cold.
Cool! I own a KZ from 1980 and thinking about converting to a singe carb setup for years now. But I never made it. Ok, the Z didn't run for about 5 years now. I'd like to see a pic of your manifold.

not trying to be an ass or anything? but what is the purpose of makin it a single carb? just wondering. I'm turnin my old 440ltd into a bobber style bike and am lookin for some cool changes to do with it.
The old carbs were busted ass, so we decided it would be easier to just weld up a manifold. Plus it would be a newer carb off a dirt bike(more reliable since its newer) & less to tune. We actually ended up ditching the idea though cause the carb we ended up getting was just not working for us. Just couldnt get the proper air/fuel ratio down. Now we're back to the duals..
right on, thanks for the reply man. Its too bad it didnt work out, cause it looked pretty bad ass like that. I heard that the ol KZs were really touchy when it comes to carbs, but it was nice to see someone do something different with em.
I've still got the old manifold if you think you could get some use out of it. It's just layin in the parts bin right now, not getting any attention anymore
