  • @jner- He might have squeaked. Are you a clarinetist? If you are, don't you?

  • Ce film est vraiment sublime!!!!!! Et la musique de Gershwin superbe!!

  • The title says it's Woody Alley playing. Not his usual style!

  • Yes, he is Benny Goodman... and this wrong step is famous...

  • love it! love it! love it!

  • did he just squeak? @ 0:30? are you sure this is benny goodman?

  • @jnier

I am also not entirely sure but this is at least the way it is described in the CD booklet.

  • @jnier if you play clarinet then you know that there are certain high notes that sound so gross that they are almost squeaks. unfortunately, composers like to use them so we need to learn to make them beautiful. maybe he was just playing a high "e" there

  • @Kennay32 Looking at the original score, however, nothing in the altissimo range is written around that area of the music. Also, Benny Goodman surely can play a high e with ease. It would take something much higher, such as a B, to throw an amazing player like that off. I would not be surprised if this was a live recording and he simply made a mistake. It happens to everyone, even the best of us.

  • un pramsan a new york. .. .. che lavooor.

  • I love Gershwin and I love Woody Allen!
