People keep saying his backhand is as fast as most people's forehand. Now, I'm sorry, but that was nowhere near the power of a forehand. Sure, it was impressive, but nowhere near as fast as a forehand, and if he didn't smoke he could probably get round all of them for a forehand.

@sexyshing3 Considering that Taufik used the AT900T and that the Yonex commercial advertised him and AT900T I think it's safe to say that AT900T was for Taufik. Even though Taufik can hit it harder and faster than Lin Dan, it's because Lin Dan is way more aggressive that he seems to be more "powerful". Obviously, the racquets aren't mean to be so technical as to make this distinction, and tend to go more mainstream in which Lin Dan is the power player and Taufik is known for his technique.

Its not really about time, it takes a lot more energy to move back n do a forehand smash, you need to conserve energy in single play. But to do a backhand smash like taufik you need skills.

I think its more about the backhand smash. Its like most of the time, you do not expect a strong smash from the back hand. Usually, most players play defensive backhand shots, with occasional drops. But, Taufik, its a totally diff case.
