@babyfods18 I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it weird and wrong, Apparently many Americans still do that, they were talking about it not too long ago on a day time talk show and apparently everyone on the show said that they kiss their kids on the lips, I was raised to believe that that is disgusting and I will always feel that way.

It's an awkward phrase and I didn't understand it at first either, but it actually means that the sight makes your eyes feel better..like it heals them, or it's a relief...for instance, if you were stranded in the middle of the ocean, any sight of remote land would be a sight for sore eyes...
