  • ItchFlgs...you are wrong. I was at the Underground in 1977-1979 in Chicago..... Frankie Knuckles of Chicago created a lot of the mixes that others sampled. When I came Frankie mixed First Choice...Love Thang... Disco Circus and a lot of techno...ie Gino Socio and r & b house.

  • what is the title of the beginning??? pls

  • Don't ya hate when new bitches are experts on Ron and Frankie... lol fuck I should have credit as much as both clubs got of my money .. lol

  • I just have to say if you don't realize or recognize that someone posted a Mix of Frankie Knuckles... So on that note it's not who played the music first... because less face it, everyone as a DJ that know the music will play it in their own way. SO Smoke A PIECE PIPE AND CALM DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn, this is to worship !!

Just can't believe Frankie Knuckles was GAY - I mean, i love House ... I LOOOOVE HOUSE Music and am Super Straight !!! But that it's roots / origins are always linked to Gay Men is so disturbing ... and Shitty !!!

  • @leadsolo Disco started in the gay loft parties in NYC in 69/70. It didn't become mainstream or even have a title until the mid to then late 70's. House music evolved from the Four on the Floor you hear in disco and what you're hearing is the roots. There's NO REASON to find it disturbing that House is linked to gay men. It's just how it started and that happens to be they way it is. Get over it!! It's not shitty, it's the way it is.

  • @skyliner1941 - Aite Man ... Cheers !!

  • @skyliner1941 that's right. Also the Funhouse on West 26th Street was gay when it first opened. We used to watch the gay guys walk down the street to that "new" club and wonder about it. Then more and more straight people came to see how awesome the music, lights ,sirens, smoke machines, and decorations were. And everyone could be themselves there. Chelsea was about 5% gay at that time, everyone had at least one gay friend if not more. So partying with the gays was fun. Now I prefer gay clubs.

  • @leadsolo TONS of shit have there origins with us gays... Get the fuck ovah it!

  • @ronnieRb - Ewwwwwwwwwww, Now THAT's Disgusting to know !!!!

  • @leadsolo the gayest thing here is that you label yourself "Super Straight" LMAO

  • @leadsolo

"Me thinks you protest too loudly. William S.Peace

    brett

    Gherkin Records

  • Oh and also I could recall that there were a few times that Ron had popped up at the PowerPlant on a early Thursday night and hung out in the booth with Frankie .... U have to remember that back then there wasn't any rivalries it was all about partying and music

  • I used to party at both clubs and I've met both Frankie and Ron through my brother ( we've hung out at Ron's crib a few times and watched him mixed some tapes and records), and honestly I think this sounds more like Frankie's style because Ron would bring a song in on the song's break where Frankie would play most songs from the beginning and then remix the song up after the breaks ... as far as this mix being made in 1977, I highly doubt that, I guess more like mid 80's

  • good stuff

  • I should stay out this, but this does sound like Ron Hardy. It his style, taking the levels in and out to bring in the next song. Just my opinion though. :-)

  • I made it my youth life (at the time) to study D.J.'s styles, and embed them all into my head.....Automatically, I can tell the difference between a Ronnie and a Frankie.....Not arguing with you, but I think that your source has been misinformed..... I attended both the Warehouse, and the Music Box....I've even obtained old mixes from the Underground, befor the Box, and Warehouse.... Believe me, a true Chicagoan knows music.... I may live in Toronto, but the Chi in me has never died.....

  • @cutterschoicenotmine. I won't get involved in whose mix this actually is albeit I'm sorry to say you've shot yourself in the foot here with your own comments. How can you claim you're posting a mastertape from 1977 and then say the first track is probably a 1986 remix? The quality of this is so poor that it actually suggests part 1 is from the mid 70s. The only way to attempt to judge age is by the most modern track however I feel you are blatantly misleading people here by saying 1977.

  • @Tubeoid121 Ok well whatever, get over it.

  • THIS IS ALL RONNIE HARDY!!!! Check your sources......... This was also in the early-mid 80's..... I followed Ronnie until his passin in 91'....... Only real Househeads know this because we were there!!! We know the difference between a Ronnie mix, and a Frankie mix...... Frankie still represents NY, and by far a true pioneer...... Ronnie made you dance until your ass fell off!!!

  • @soudoit I'm not changing the name of this mix full stop. I've obviously walked into some argument about who was better. This mix came from original master tapes, cited to be from The Warehouse in 1977, and mixed by Frankie Knuckles. I posted this mix as a piece of music history, and thats how it will remain.

  • This is not Frankie! I was a MEMBER of both clubs. Started with Frankie and found Ronnie at the end of 84. The Power Plant 1015 north Halsted was Frankie's spot and 326 lower Wacker drive better known as the Underground MUZIC BOX was Ron's spot. Let meeeeeee tell u. Frankie, he BEAT you settled. Ron, BEAT you hard. They both had there own styles of jackin u. I should know i lived in there houses. These mixes are RON'S. This is history if you don't know ask somebody who does! Thanks

  • omg thank u so much for uploading and sharing!!! This was way before ma time and guys like u uploading and sharing stuff make it easier to do ma research! thanks!

  • THIS IS ALL NYC SH**t ANYWAY...NOT FROM CHI-TOWN. IF YOU DONT KNOW YOU BETTER ASK SOMEBODY......ESP. FROM THE BX.

  • @theiicemancometh THIS IS ALL CHICAGO, young man.......Know your history!!! This is Chicago House Music, not NYC house....The BOX was definitely in Chicago......Look it up......

  • @soudoit all i'm saying is that the whole house thing comes from NYC/N. JERSEY... must i give u a lesson..LOL

  • we need to get our dates and facts straight. its important because its history. we should always be accurate.the songs here are circa 1986 summer of 86 .

  • This is about 1986 Ronnie

  • @GlennUnderground Until you show me a mix that has the name and is verified I'm going from what my original source cited its source to be.

  • @cutterschoicenotmine Well bud, I would have to agree with GlennUnderground..... That's an 80's Ronnie..... Both Glenn and I are from the era, and I can attest to that..... Re-check your sources, or one better, post it on FB, and let the other experts share in this blossom. What say you?

  • This is a ron hardy mix from the music box Chicago

  • This ks a ron hardy mix

  • Had to listen to all of it. Frankie was a God of House, And still is the True Godfather of House.

  • magical...simply magical...Frankie knuckles is amazing

  • What's the Score?

    Frankie Knuckles.

I'm just The Sound of the Underground.

  • This took me back to the days I would ride the CTA to see Frankie Knuckles perform in the 70's!

  • CHI FUCKIN TOWN HOUSE FOREVER!!!!!!

  • he also was in The Loft at NY :D

  • All I can say is WOW! Thanks for this!!!

  • hello all my house heads, im reppn the northside Edgewater distrcit, house music was deep where i grew, when the best, newest & experimental music was played on the air waves...now its simply put just wack, peace!

  • God I love DISCO!!!!

  • this is probably from '82-'83. this is legendary stuff right here

  • @mookindahouse Ok it seems more likely. Still i couldn't belive there was no real Frankie Knuckles stuff from the Warehouse on here. This stuff is urban legend.

  • not my taste with the speed up... great music, great frankie, but speeded up vocal and tempo is not cool here, though i think ron hardy messed and speeded up things in a good way. or maybe i just need to get used to this speed here i dunno. thanks 4 haring annie-way

  • is this from 1977 mixed by frankie knuckles ? how can u have records that were made after 1977 on some thing that was recorded in 77?

  • I know nothing about the music xpt its disco. 1977 was the name on the mix. pre-releases maybe? you got a date for this mix?

  • yeah Peace

    brett
