The Federal Reserve will most likely cute the Fed rate to help out bank after drying out most of the sub prime mortgages. So to devalue the housing market, etc.

Who are going to buy the bad mortgages in the first place you think. Will it be public since it was public money that purchased the bad mortgages.

Notice Congressman Frank won't hold hearings about Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac. Because those are Government Sponsered Enterprises and those were run so "effectivley". Also, any hearings would bring Fannie and Freddies biggest recipients of campaign contributions to light, namely Senator Dodd and Senator Obama.
