You should never, ever ever gem + 40 hit rating or + 40 exp. Your gemming for threat. Threat is only an issue at the start of a fight. Go to elitistjerks dude

+Particularly since in order to get those threat stats you're greatly reducing your survivability. (I'm only a small amount more geared than you but have over 15% more block, for example. I went for threat for a while but I felt that in world where Vengeance solves any threat problem (Assuming competent DPS who let you get initial threat) it's far too big of a sacrifice to go for threat instead of mastery. Why is it you disagree, or at least seem to? (Sorry for wall of text! Love the vids!)

I enjoy watching your videos but I'm a bit confused. I play a prot pally and have +.64% hit and 13 exp w/ SoT glyph. I've no AoE talents (ie Hallowed ground) yet I have no threat problems. Ill take an MD when it's up but with a DP+Inq on the pull I can easily tank this w/out odd Life Grip manuvers.

Basically I'm wondering at your reasoning since trying for threat's complete opposite of what's been shown to be the best possible choice and is one of the worst according to most numbercrunching?

Hey Hobbs, When your fighting a raid boss or a single-mob target. It's better to use Crusader Strike than Hammer of the Righteous If your needing aggro. Hammer of the Righteous is used for aoe-spread out damage, Crusader Strike generates more Aggro When your facing a single-mob or raid target.

Hm... We took the drakes first out, we used the rogue tricks to point them to a single tank and used massive aoe to make them go down pretty fast. Ofcourse we have allready marked evry single dragon that helps. Remember that you have /focus so you can use that when you have to switch. Gl in raiding.

Its such bullshit to see the game development putting tanks in there with crits as high as 89k. I really dislike the way warcraft is going, turning into more of a numbers game and taking it out of the players hands.

@EL4N4R the 89k crit is only possible because he is taking such MASSIVE damage over the course of the fight, being a heroic raid and all. Pally tanks have a passive ability called vengeance i think (i think prot warriors have it too) and it increases your attack power according to how much damage you take. In a normal situation, that crit probably would have been around 20-25k. Popping all my damage buffing CD's i can hit maybe 40k crit, and thats only in a reg dungeon.

You should never have to gem for exp or hit. Even though heroic Halfus is a very threat based fight, the mobs hit like trucks and it would be more effective for your dps to wait a few seconds if it means you getting some more avoidance / mitigation stats. Make sure you have misdirects and tricks on you, and depending on your raid set up.
