At 5 o'clock today on Sky Sports News I watched 7.5 mins of build up to the Spurs match that is on ITV tonight. They gave this match more coverage than any other story that hour. They can't show any footage of the match because it would be illegal. They do have a pundit watching the game giving in depth updates. What more can they do? This categorically blows your comments on football coverage out the water. Im sure you'll now point to other sports, but you've already shown your talking shit.

Sky made the Premiership, they have been nothing but good for the game. Football is better off without Setanta , their coverage was awful. To echo the point about Burley, he was a complete nobody in the game, fair enough I am a Celtic fan and he had one good season for us but apart from that. McManaman, Sherwood, arseholes. Sky will be laughing because they've got rid of a major competior and enlisted the help of ESPN to do it, so the European Union can't complain about fair trade.
There is no way that Sky are biased to Manchester United. @4RIPO Why would a Sky broadcasting want to get their viewers to watch something on an unrelated channel such as ITV, when it means that they have lower ratings and in fact are helping out their rivals, that's just bad business, and as for your theory on how they don't want anyone to know they haven't paid for it, Sky are restricted by part VI of the 1996 broadcasting act in that certain 'A' package sporting events are to be aired on free-to-air television.

I think most areas of the media are against Arsenal, but it probably is due to the lack of English players when compared to other teams in the top 4, I'm sure if Cesc Fabregas was English, or Theo Walcott lived up to his potential we would see more promotion of Arsenal players on Sky

Sky made the Premiership, they have been nothing but good for the game. Football is better off without Setanta , their coverage was awful. To echo the point about Burley, he was a complete nobody in the game, fair enough I am a Celtic fan and he had one good season for us but apart from that. McManaman, Sherwood, arseholes. Sky will be laughing because they've got rid of a major competior and enlisted the help of ESPN to do it, so the European Union can't complain about fair trade.

There is no way that Sky are biased to Manchester United. I am not here to defend the multi billionaire dollar empire of Rupert Murdoch but Sky's coverage of football in this country has been first class and I am glad that Setenta went to the wall. They cover a fair range of games and every club in the Premiership is well represented. Their coverage on Champions League nights when you have a choice of games is never short of spectucler

I still think £130m+ on the SPL is not a good deal as outside of Scotland very few people will watch it as the standard is so poor.
The F1 they paid for is on BBC.
The Internationals are on BBC / ITV.
Only real football fans would subscribe but most people these days are only interested in watching their own team.
The only thing Setanta could really brag about was the UFC and boxing but the biggest boxing nights are on Sky... It seems businessmen who knew little about sport set up the deals

english football would not crumble if sky pulled the plug, sky play that much for english football because that is the price that the market has placed on it thus if sky went then the value would drop because of decreased competition but others would pick up the rights for still very high amount. Premier League is so big because 1 the football is generally high paced thus more appealing to many markets and 2 because English is easier to sell than any other because of language issues
