please help me sir.. i have a SAMSUNG Super Write Master DVD-RW, i encountered that my DVD-WRITER automatically eject everytime i close it..
it happened when i insert an Audio CD that time, then i hear a blast sound inside on my DVD-ROM, when i open it, i saw that my audio cd had scattered into pieces on the inside. i did clean.. but when i use it again.. my DVD-ROM automatically eject everytime i close it..
what should i do?? please help me.. thanks! in advance
@Vhinee18 It really sounds like something is keeping your drawer from closing all the way. it could be opening again when it encounters the resistance from the thing that is blocking it from closing. And if you had a disc in there and the drawer didn't close all the way and then the laser came up, then the center clamp would miss the hole and hit the CD, which could cause the CD to shatter. Try opening the case, watch it close with the cover off, and see what the drawer is running into.
dude this is kool. amm one question... i have a Panasonic CD Stereo System SA-AK33 5 CD Player and there is like a problem with the cd thing. everytime i press open, it opens and then when i press close, it doesnt close and reads error. and it doesnt read any cd i do put in. if yhu can help me out, plz do. email me on shamsherwazhere@yahoo.com or just comment back or PM on youtube. thnx :)
@shamsher21 Watched your video. Looked like you started it from full closed position. So how do you get it to close all the way? Does the close button sometimes work but not always? Also looks like it doesn't open as far as it should. In any case, I'd recommend you open the drawer, turn it off an unplug it with drawer open, open case and take the drawer apart and make sure to put it back together in the full open position. Also check the gear teeth to make sure there aren't broken ones.
my cd player says that if I open the back, there's a risk of electrical shock. is that just for if it's plugged in? ive had it unplugged for days, what do you think?
@themack355 Well, I can't offer any guarantees, but unless your CD player also has some kind of battery or batteries in it that store electricity, then you should not be able to get an electrical shock if the CD player is not plugged in. In other words, if you can't power it on when its not plugged in, then you shouldn't be able to get shocked either. You should definitely have it unplugged when you work on it.
@MisterEricB I've been trying to find CD changer repair places and I'm out of luck, am I missing something? I would try it myself, but the CD changer is inside my jukebox so it may not work the way the one in the video does.
@themack355 right, if you have a multi-cd jukebox system, then it will probably be quite a bit different. doesn't surprise me that it would be hard to find a repair shop since lots of cd players are so cheap to buy now, but sounds like yours is a nicer system. good luck, hope you can fix it or find a shop.

what if my dvd player has like a double grinder thing that jams when pushed in or out? I don't know how to explain it...but it's likethis white slider thing and a jagged looking gear and a circular one that pops out if you force it in. The gear and circle thing work together and the white thing moves side to side when the tray goes in. But it goes in like a tiny bit and then stops.
@KailTrueman It could be that your gears slipped at some point and are "out of phase" (I'm not sure if that's the right term). Meaning that the gear on your drawer, or the white thing, is not starting out where it should be, so it gets to the end earler than it should and gets stuck. So try unplugging it, taking it apart and putting it back together in the closed position. then the gears should be in line. But one might have a broken tooth that caused the problem, check for that too.
so you mean that if there is no disk in it, that the magnet prevents the drawer from opening? the magnet often just hangs down and is not connected to anything electronic. if it is hanging down too far and blocking the drawer, then you might try putting some tape or something underneath the ring that is holding it so that it doesn't hang down as far.
Hello, I have two broken CD-I players, one being sent as a replacement to the other (of Ebay), both broken. One has the door ejects and close fine, but once the cd is inside I hear many crackling noises and a error message. The other has the door jammed (feeble motor sound, remains closed). Which one sounds like the most easy to repair?
Hi, the crackling and the error message sounds pretty bad. Could be something with the laser or the spinning mechanism. I haven't dealt with either of those. If the door is jammed, that sounds very similar to the issue in this video. So personally, that's the one I would try to fix first. Could be that something is stuck, like in this video, or even that the the gears have gotten out of phase. Good luck!
Hi, I have the same problem like Neurozumim with my sony dvd/cd player. The door opens and closes fine but when the put a dvd/cd in it starts making these crackling noises and after like 30 seconds of doing that it gives me the error message telling me that the dvd player cannot read this dvd/cd. I've tried every dvd/cd that I have and it does the same thing with all of them. Can this be fixed or do I need another dvd player? ty
Your problem is most likely caused by a slipping belt and it appears that you can't get to it unless you remove the entire traverse assembly from the player chassis and look underneath the traverse.
By the look of the player, it must have come from the mid-late 1980s, so the original belt is likely over 15 years old. Old enough for a belt to be stretched out loose and dried up.
A better fix would be to clean out all the excess grease, remove the paper shim and replace the belt.
well, I'm not as sure there. It could just be that the laser is dirty, and you won't be able to use a cleaning disc if it isn't reading discs. So you'll still have to take it apart to clean it. Then you might first make sure that the disc spins when it is loaded. The laser usually moves back and forth a bit when the disc is loading too. If that all looks good, you could try to clean the laser with a small brush. Not sure beyond that. Good luck!
Great! Glad to hear that you got it fixed! Do you know what ended up being the issue on yours? Sometimes just taking it apart and putting it together helps and I don't even know for sure what the issue really was :-)
