  • it's weird that somebody thinks chinese dont look mature...and indeed chinese think the american girls look way mature domi with exception.ppl even wonder why sloan and other girls look so old u know. and how can u tell if jiang is born in 92 or 94. how does it differ...= = some say sui lu look like a 9 yr old, and in china, no one has thought of that, sui's already kinda look more mature with typical chinese girls. and even worse with her designer bags and scark and so on.

  • Jiang Yuyuan turned 17 on the Nov. 1, 2008!

To peaceluvcheer97: I like your name, just hope NBC and other u.s. media and gym fans can be peace-loving, not always bash Chinese and act like war mongers.

To most Asians, they find very hard believing Sloan was only 16 because she looked like at least over 30. The same thing can be said about Sac. and Liukin. Why don't you have hard time believing Shawn Johnson was 16?

  • Like if you want USA to get gold in 2012 :)

  • Anyone know where the NBC coverage of this can be found?

  • @catieekemp I was wondering the same thing!

  • I love how Shanw is the shortest on the team she reminds me of a little pipsqueak (in a good way)

  • i wish the chinese team here was in london in the next months ahead

  • Watching this in 2012... Just a few months to The London Olympics

  • Is Nastia Liukin competing in London in 2012 ?

  • @LOVEisLOVE1406 She is training for London. We'll see if she makes the team. USA can definitely use her on bars.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL @1:06 the sign says BRA

  • @1995babylolo Abbreviation for Brazil dumb ass.

  • YES no NBC!!!!

  • hahah the lady commentator nearly jizzed herself at 9:49 after Deng Linln's perfect vault.

  • Thumbs up if you're wondering why the fuck a three year difference negates the validity of something as monumentous as the Olympics.

  • I wish China can retain the gold in London, and come back soon, Cheng Fei!!!

  • @eurowei it doesnt seem like China will retain a gold medal in London. The Russians or the Americans are most likely going to take the top 2 spots, with China challenging Romania for the bronze medal

  • @brycehelmer true, china is not as strong as it was, or at least it seems that way

  • is there ANYONE who can upload the nbc coverage of all of the 2008 olympics? i can't stand bbc

  • someone explain me why nastia isn't at this team of three

  • @lindiuxlinda On vault, you mean? It's because the SV of her vault was too low in 2008 (and much more in 2009-2012). Only 5.5 (today is 5.3). It's 1 1/2 Yurchenko, when the american vaults in TF was a DTY (SV 5.8), a Amanar (SV 6.5) and a Handspring + piked salto + one and half twist (6.3).

  • @MadeleinePhillips666 Alicia's is a laid out + 1 1/2 not piked :). Alicia isn't my favourite but her vault is quite fantastic.

  • @bernardmvella I know, but she pikes her hips a lot!! And she's training this vault with a DOUBLE twist. Hnow amazing this could be in Tokyo?? I can't wait to see.

  • @MadeleinePhillips666 I think Oksana Chusovitina is training the exact vault too, or a tsukahara 2.5 twist

  • my little sister saids go shawn.

  • i can't wait until the 2012 olympics!

  • This is probably Brasil's best leo. LOL.

  • @taydev2007 Erm...I don't think so. I'm brazilian, and I think Team Prelims Laotards much, much more lovely thgan this. Jade and Ana Claudia AA leos is beautiful too. But the most beautiful brazilian leo is from 2004 Team Prelims.

  • @MadeleinePhillips666 Ok, well it's all a matter of opinion then, isn't it? Is it supposed to be a FACT that the 2004 Brazilian prelim leos are the best just because you are Brazilian?

  • @taydev2007 No, you don't get it. Everyone watched TF in Brazil, because was our first time in a Olympic Gymnastics TF. And everyone said: "Wow, the others leos on the list was so much beautiful than this!", and our gymnastics pick and choosen other leo: the white and blue one. But the Brazilian Gymnastics Federation choose that thing. Yeah, our Federation is really annoying. We don't like it. They care about the image, not the sport. I'm sorry if I aspect rude, I just wanna show a PoV.

  • who won ?!

  • @Eztini Um....China.

  • Quite randomly...although I don't really care for Shawn Johnson's gymnastics style, I love the way she walks out onto the floor, and holds herself when she is waiting to start. Most of the other gymnasts slouch and slump; Shawn looks proud and confident.

  • OMG that stupid Chris lady or whatever pisses me off, oh well gymnast for gymnast Russia has better gymnasts, which explains why Romania has 9 olympic team medals, which Russia barely has any, since I don't consider USSR as Russia since some of their gymnasts were not russian, Chusovitina was Uzbek and Nellie Kim was Tajik

  • @KaruiNinja She meant that particular team not over all the years of gymnastics!!

  • @KaruiNinja

She was saying this TEAM of Russians was better gymnast for gymnast than this TEAM of Romanians, and that is true.

Russia team here, as a whole, is better than Romania's team here, as a whole. However the 3 up 3 count benefits Romania's lack of depth so it evens out.

  • I love how Cheng Fei blocks off the top with her arms straight.

  • china destroyed the US

  • omg, thank you so much !

i've been looking for this video forever!

  • i love alicia now! she's matured even more in these past 3 years and i cant wait to see her at the next olympics, hopefully!

  • Jojuschko: Please go back to check ALL previous Olympic and world championship records. Most gold medals in women's gymnastics were won by OLDER girls! There were plenty of younger American gymnasts in 2008, why u.s. sent older (as you considered) gymnasts such as Liukin, Sacramone, sloan, etc. to the biggest competitions? No scientific research have ever approved that younger ones have advantages in gymnastics.

  • @russiangymfan Sloan was the youngest person on the US team!!

  • the last jump was almost orgasmic. so excellent so beautiful sooooooooooo. simply wow

  • i love sacramone, but she seemed seriously cocky at the beginning... she certainly didn't by the end of the night. lesson learned; she is much more humble now and an even better gymnast for it :)

  • @allaroundcoach Sacramone is always so miserable and moody >.< like wtf :| and she's a sore loser

  • listening to the commenter and thinking that won't the Chinese be under more pressure since these children are always competing with the talented few whereas the US are just competing with one another? the chinese are all already the creme de corp. And the chinese usually have not much of a future if they don't get into a team at 10. talk about pressure.

  • Den Linling on that vault was PERFECTION!

  • I'm still watching this in 2011, and this is still so exciting!

  • Ok, let's say if the Chinese gymnasts were really underage, this is a kind of cheating, they should be punished. But the Americans also did something wrong! At 2007, Jiang yuyuan,Li Shanshan and Yang yilin also competed the 2007 Worlds, I don't understand why people didn't complain at that time if they thought that they were underage?! (The USA team won gold at 2007 Worlds)...And after 2008 OG(team final), many resentful comments came up...

Last, I want to say I DON'T THINK THEY WERE UNDERAGE!

  • "Anyone with a shred of knowledge about the sport knows that younger gymnasts have a HUGE advantage..."

It's a lie and no any scientific research can approve your point. Why are most Olympic champions "older" gymnasts in history?! Why can't u.s. find younger and better gymnasts for olympics? Why Liukin(18), Sac(19) and Johnson(16) were the best gymnasts that u.s. could find? There were plenty of younger american gymnasts in 2008, but no one was better than these older ones.

  • @russiangymfan because the older ones probably have trained longer... (duh....)

  • Deng Linlin is so adorable! And an amazing vault as well...

  • Thumbs up if you're still watching this in 2011. xD

  • @SmileXDforever nopeee im watching this in 2012

  • i like the way china runs XD

  • these chinese cannot be 15 or 16 there tooooo small

  • i don't understand why swimmers don't have an age limit, but gymnasts do. i don't think it matters, if you're the best in the world.... does it matter how old you are?

  • Deng Linlin's vault was pretty amazing.

  • Do I think the Chinese are underage? yes

Do I think they deserve gold? yes

  • love the introduction. haha! :)

    deng lin-lin's landing was PERFECT.

  • love the introduction. haha! :)

  • i love bbc wayy better than american broadcasters

  • To peaceluvcheer87: Well we all know that a lot of american athlets cheated in sports history, so how do we know they haven't cheated again??? I suggest you to go back to do a thorough check on Olympic and sports history before you lash out dirty China-bashing words and ugly double standard! Funny your user name is "peacelov", but I see a warmonger and hater.

  • @russiangymfan Well your a peaceful person. What makes you think anybody cheated. Here is an idea for you...watch the amazing gymnastics that both the American and Chinese teams delivered.

  • @russiangymfan Alicia Sacramone was warned by the FIG! But the Americans kept quiet, no one punished her~ A clear example of double-standard!

  • @iamyukilee warned of what?

  • @russiangymfan I'm just saying, these girls look fairly underage and China has sent out underage gymnasts before so what is stopping them from doing it again?

  • @russiangymfan I'm not saying Americans have never cheated because it has happened. However the Chinese have a history of sending too young girls. Also I honestly having a hard time believing Deng Lin Lin is at least 15.

  • @peaceluvcheer97 If i remember correctly,Deng was born in like 1992 or 1993 because i do know she is older than Jiang Yuyuan.Deng is like 4 foot something, but i've known plenty of asians who are short, but older than me.Kexin and Yuyuan i think were the only two under the spotlight of cheating.I think the age limit should be lifted because everyone can move a little faster and be more agile and flexible.I mean,Nadia and Dominique and Strugg were 14 when they won gold medals

  • @brycehelmer It's not the height that makes me question her age, all gymnasts are short. It's seems to me that her face lacks maturity, as well it has been said that new documents on Yuyuan's birthday and it looks like she might actually have been born in '94. However I agree that they should lower the age limit.

  • @peaceluvcheer97 well...clearly deng linlin and jiang yuyuan still look nearly the same after three yrs. just hv gained some weight. plus deng's teeth's still the same.

  • adventuregirl76: 3 years after 2008 Olympics, Linlin Deng's teeth still look the same, she just have crooked teeth! Don't you get the picture?

  • shawn johnson is the cutest on the US team ~

  • Kim Gwang Suk of North Korea, who had her 1991 world gold medal on bars taken away for being underage, also had missing teeth. She claimed she had a bars accident, but it was later determined that she had been underage and her country was banned from the next Olympics. Funny, but I can't recall a gymnast from any country but China or N.K. having "tooth issues," be it baby teeth or teeth lost from a gymnastics "accident." Ironic, no?

  • Matt Baker,I love you.

  • I really don't like this format, how can you consider 3 members a team? I prefer the older formats, 6 or 7 up, 5/6 compete, 4/5 count.

  • All this girls did spectacular no question!

BUT... Gymnastics today is so boring! The gymnasts today lacks charisma, like an Silivas, Gnauck or Shushunova had! This sport was in the 80's so much more exciting!!!

  • Is BOB Beijing Olympics Broadcast??

  • @Gymnasticsfreak1011 I would guess British Olympics Broadcast considering the announcer has a british accent, but I could be wrong.

  • @Gymnasticsfreak1011 I would guess British Olympics Broadcast considering the announcer has a british accent, but I could be wrong. And the description says its from BBC, which is British.

  • hiyaa great vids :), i hope u will b posting all the women gymnastic events from 2012 :)

  • @cronopio131 but shawns dod is higher

  • @caterinafan123 How is her DOD higher?! Both of them were doing Amanar, which is out of 16.5

  • i don't think these judges know what the usa is capable of scoring in fact it seems like they don't know anything about the usa like they do in the olympic trials other then there names and i think thats pretty sad that they aren't more caught up on the usa team gymnast

  • Comment removed

  • with all respect to yang yilin, they only say that shawn johnson's score was a significant deduction because she's a better gymnast

  • No matter which team won: China, Russia or Romania, we don't see fans from these countries to bash each other or and demonize other winning team and nation. But we only see American fans who lease their hatred and put all videos and nasty comments on the Internet to attack others just because their team lost to another team! American fans are the worst.

  • Comment removed

  • @russiangymfan I am not trying to be mean but I am just sick and tired of the polarizing TIRADES on here. Just watch the fooking competition and let's talk about the gymnasts skills yes?

  • @russiangymfan

Of course downgrade me and the other fans. I love the other teams. I don't downgrade the other countries. In fact, Romania is much more superior than any country due to their stellar history.

  • @ThePingShowJL History doesn't win competitions....

  • @adventuregirl76

Never said it did, it's just history just shows what they expect and how they handle. Being superior is about past and present.

  • i dont get it, yang yilin got 7 tenths off in team finals and they say very good score, but shawn johnson gets 8 tenths off in the all around and they say quite a significant deduction. is it just me or do they really like the chinese?

  • @TheGymMaster01 nobody likes americans

  • @MrTalegazo For what reason?

  • @MrTalegazo wow that is a little harsh, America is the best country in the world

  • @MrTalegazo oookkkaaaayyyyy

  • @TheGymMaster01 well the olympics were in Bejing.......................coincidence?

  • what does bob mean at the start?

  • Chinese gymnasts rules!!! Come London 2012, they will dominate and conquer U.S, Russia or Romania. Nuff said!

  • @dragonorient65 usa won't be on the podium at all in 2012

  • @dragonorient65 No, they won't. They won't have the homefield advantage or scoring. Second, they are under scrutiny for their gymnast's real or perceived ages. They'll have to go to the other end of the spectrum and use gymnasts who are obviously older in order to avoid allegations of cheating.

  • i really miss the old way of the process of the team finals with the 7-6-5 process. I like seeing six girl compete on each event and then taking the top five scores. i dont really like only three on each event.

  • wow one day i hope to get into the olimpics

  • @l0v3tori Perhaps you should learn to spell Olympics first.

  • WHATEVE.YA C IM NOT SPELLING LIKE IM TAKEING A TEST.IM WRITING IT AS A TXT.BECAUSE EVERY1 DOES.SEE I DID IT AGAIN

  • @l0v3tori

    k

  • @l0v3tori

  • i like how the chinese can use every single gymnast in their roster

  • Team finals are always so much better to watch than all around finals :)

  • me fav gymnast r shawn nastia nd yang der gr8 loveu

  • the chinese "camp" looks so happy there gymnasts land there routine i love it

  • Great video!!!

    remember the final, was amazing!!!

  • I'm so glad the 2012 olypmics are in London... Now at least I get to watch it at a decent time and not in the middle of the night. (I'm from the Netherlands, so it's just an hour time differents)

  • @eeffiieejj same with me! :P

  • I like how they show more then 4 teams...and even if NBC shows 2 other teams they show 2 gymnast and thats it.

  • oh the Chinese and their blue eyeshadow!

  • @ladodgerschick i know right?

  • @ladodgerschick and their 30 clips in their hair for no reason. lol

  • CHINNNNAAA I LOVE U!!! <3 <3 <3

  • The lady commentator is very good at predicting things.

  • @theurbansoul yes she is,,, lots of expertise

  • To MLA: Why don't you ask those drug cheaters american athelets to return their olympic and world championship medals? There have been a lot!

  • @russiangymfan What?!?! You're serious? Wow...someone's jealous. It's not our fault that Russia is falling to pieces.

  • @frndrmgym

Russian is, ATM the favorite to win 2012 in TF and in AAF so I don't think they're 'falling to pieces...'

  • To MLA: Why don't you lobby to ask Carl Lewis and many many other American athlets who took drugs, covered it up (with the help of u.s. sports federations or u.s. olympics committee), went to Olympics, cheated to get medals, and STILL kept their medals! What evidence that has proved that younger gymnasts have advantages? Chinese men's team is an "old" team, but they are the best.

  • @russiangymfan Jealousy is not a flattering color on you ;|

  • @russiangymfan Anyone with a shred of knowledge about the sport knows that younger gymnasts have a HUGE advantage because most of them haven't hit puberty. That means they are shorter, thinner and lacking in b-bs and hips, which makes it far easier to fly through the air. Simple physics.

  • @russiangymfan I'm not going to pretend to say that Americans haven't used drugs but you're comparing men's gymnastics to women's gymnastics on the basis of age and skill when it has been proven because of musculature and the basic body differences between men and women that men's gymnastics careers can last longer that females. And also when women are younger, they are far more flexible allowing them to do moves older women cannot. That's all. :/

  • @russiangymfan Younger girls do better in women's gymnastics (this doesn't affect men's gymnastics) because they inevitably have smaller, lighter bodies and have an easier time performing harder techniques.

  • @SexyLiLLeilaniMya even if Alicia haddn't fallen, China still would have won.

  • @SexyLiLLeilaniMya

    this was two years ago

    get over it

  • @SexyLiLLeilaniMya

China would have beat USA anyways idiot. The only way USA could have won is if China bombed, which they didn't :)

  • anyone know if this is available to download to DVD

  • I loved these Olympic games, especially the gymnastics. Haha, I remember staying up until like, 12 AM just to find out who won this! It was so intense!

  • i lovee this romanian team !!

hope their there in 2012 !!

  • AWESOME GIRLS going their thing

  • Hopefully the Russians or Romanians will make a comeback in 2012! Russian has some beautiful gymnasts coming of age!

  • I disagree with female commentator. Chinese gymnasts are not chosen because of their physiques. They are under even more pressure than the americans as there is a much larger proportion of young gymnasts in China than USA who are competing to get into the Olympics. Also, China's gymnasts are chosen based on their talents.

  • @MercySparkles Originally Chinese gymnasts are chosen because of their physique/the physique of their parents. They are chosen by talent for international competitions, but the commentator was referring to Chinese girls actually getting into the Chinese club originally.

  • @MercySparkles no, they are not. you clearly know nothing about elite gymnastics.

  • yang yilin is so elegante.

  • The Chinese style of gymnastics is just gorgeous! They like, grow two feet when they vault. Of course, the United States are great as well :)

  • I've download this from youtube and now I have this on my ipod:)

  • Do you mean ineligible?

  • what I wanted to say was chinese gymnasts were at right age to compete...

  • @LMA629

No, its so amazing how many people DONT understand the circumstance.

The government was NOT aware the the Chinese gymnast was underage. It was her parents that started that lie to get her into gymnastics early. And these gymnasts were screened by the IOC they were NOT underage.

The Chinese government was also so mad at the 2000 incident that they are now screening every Chinese gymnast competiting Internationally.

  • @godsfiddler allegedly (and probably) yes. but they couldnt prove it. but they did just prove that china used at least one underage gymnast (and probably another) in 2000, so they just lost their bronze medal for that year. this at least proves their willing to falsify documents and lie to the IOC. maybe one day it'll be proven that the girls were underage in 2008 too.

  • yang yilin's SPRINT = elegance

  • Yeah, I feel the same, she has something the other did not have.. most gymnasts were strong or classic but yilin was elegant and fluent.
