people that go and purchase there firearms legally and store and transport legally should not have any problems . our right to keep and bare should not be infringed . criminals do not register there and if they know that average good Canadians do not have a means to defend them self's then crime will go up 10 fold just ask the Brits what heppened when they banded all there guns and firearms owner ship.
The registry is a scam, farce and whitewash at the same time, as it fails to provide police with any useful information. When they stop a car and find a handgun inside, they know full well that the gun is illegal, without having to go thru the registry, because the legal guns require an authorization to transport to be legally in a vehicle, plus it must be double locked. When they go into a house and registry reports no firearms registered, it does not mean there are none inside.
RCMP admitted in an FOI request that they do not know the level of compliance with the requirement to have the magazines of semi-automatic firearms to be blocked to 5 rounds for the rifles and 10 rounds for the pistols. They just never collected any statistics to that effect. They also indirectly admitted that they don't know whether level of fatality is higher for the crimes where prohibited short-barreled handguns were used as opposed to the restricted handguns with slightly longer barrels.
