  • wow great fact, the weak don't look, the powerful look. I love that.

  • OMG AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOW ALLL THIS TOO !!!! this is simple shit

  • once again CBS promoting the democrats

  • @fogs92 and the dem won.the people favored obama.yet real as this fact is many do not accept the reality.in two years the people will favor some one once again

  • fascinating

  • There's a 10 video instant download by Robert Phipps on his own site, which I can't advertise directly so use the name plus the dotkom

  • wow.. the powerful look where they want to with "eyes" or at least one wide open...

    Cheers!

  • I read the president like a book, he's full of it half the time. He talks with his hands, often a sign of fabrication or lack of confidence (distracts you from their face to hide facial ques), often glances down and left, another classic sign.

  • @Goodspittin There are numerous reasons why people use their hands when talking, emphasis of a point being the most common. When people try to use gestures when they're lying the gestures are poorly timed and look unnatural, Obama's, however, flow indicating sincerity.

Also looking down and left is not necessarily a sign of lying, it depends on so many circumstances. Perhaps he's reading, or distracted or that's just normal for him.

Gestures vary for everyone, you need to get a baseline first.

  • @Goodspittin

talking with your hands is usually a sign of truth

The direction of which the eyes look can only (in my opinion) be used to notice guilt/shame/embarrassment.

You can look anywhere you want and lie

  • @Goodspittin its power... he is a powerful man

  • @Goodspittin Or as Paul Ekman the pre-eminent leader in this research believes he could be using speech emblems which is a normal part of emphasising points in the communication process. Ekman also states a few times in his book "telling lies" that not one thing in our non-verbal communication process is indicative of anything.

I am not pro or anti- Obama, but mate you're making assumptions that research has not even come close to quantifying. Where are you getting your information from??

  • is overlooked? isn't that what they are talking about? what do you mean?

I think it's just personal. Our body moves with our mind. Like you pointed out, a gesture can mean many things. To figure out what it means, requires much investigation into the individual.

  • This clip was not as good as the "good job" debate clip.

  • LMFAO Dave Navarro!

  • LMFAO in the video description: "Dave Navarro"

It seems the world renowned ex-guitarist of the red hot chili peppers retired from the world of music and became an author and body language expert

  • Yeah well then, Fox is fascist. Just keep buying into your party's propaganda my friend. How do you feel about not being in control of what you believe in?

  • i think when they were hand shaking, obama was leaning in rather than staying behind, and of course, the distance means that they are not intimate

  • no if you lean in you dont leave one leg behind like that

  • lol i laughed my ass at your comment XD

  • Wow Joe Navarro figured out, that Obama and McCain are not "Super best friends ever". Seems to be a great genius...

  • LOL

  • look at the info in the side bar, it says Dave Navarro, his name is joe!!! nice one CBS!

  • he forgot to point out that when obama and mccain shake hands obama puts his left arm over mccains wich indicates power

  • 'The power of a Black mans hand must never be underestimated' - Malcolm X

  • It does. It symbolizes youth going towards maturity.

  • @jofowoko:

Like stroking a dog's head. Not necessarily indicating power but indicating he wants to be the one in control.

  • @jofowoko

If you look closely they both did it, McCain's grab was just out of sight.

  • @jofowoko mccain does the same thing bud

  • i think obama has got a stronger aura...i think it's interesting and right what dave navarro says.

  • LOL I always like to see segments about their body language toward each other. I love how Obama asked his wife, when he greeted her after the debate was over, how she was.

  • hmm... heres a thought body languge of mccain and his wife vs. obama and his wife!

obama's hugs his wife all the time mccain doesn't he doesn't even look at her and mccain wife just followed him around while michelle went around the room shaking ppls hand did cindy do that ithink its some bumps in the road of the mccain marriage no love there

  • Whoa... your right! Thanks for pointing that out!

  • no problemo! lol

  • Hmmm...interesting

  • cbs mind controllers

  • yeah, very interesting

  • I think this is really interesting. I bet that half of you would not be able to catch a 'poker-faced' person in a lie but this guy would definitely be able to. It's a good talent to have.

  • glad they posted this. i just saw a documentary on body language. when they shake hands Obama also embraces mccain with his left hand, this is for the cameras, to make obama seem the dominant figure. Mccain was very stiff the whole time but as soon as he gave up he started acting like a politician again-head movements, hand gestures. also look at obamas affection for his family vs. mccains ignorance of his wifes presence. i almost say mccain threw the whole thing based on the documentary i saw

  • lol...Mccain's a slouch

  • lol... Obama's leg stays behind becoz he has to lean and balance himself to reach down for McCain's hand... big deal.

  • the dude is right, but its nothing spectacular. body language is overrated, but its very good to know it and its meaning :)

  • I'd hate to start an argument, but when you shake someone's hand, you go up to them, have both of your two feet implanted into the ground, and shake their hand. Obama put one foot forward, and the other one back, meaning that he didn't want to be near McCain. Obama made that handshake 'a quicky'. A handshake you do when you're not interested in the other person and you want to get it over with, very soon.

  • mcain had a foot back too.........

  • I agree with you. Obama is actually doing McCain a favor for he is much taller. He therefore has lean forward towards McCain without McCain having to look straight in his face during the handshake. Body language is grossly overrated.

  • I just learned something about body language.

  • Jazzhands!! Hya!

  • why does everybody have to always say negetive things about people that are actually doing something with there life....stop being haters

  • hahaha you are an absolute moron

  • That's a form of military training. They use to find terrorists and things of that sort. Most special ops and certain MOS's in the military have to go through it. When I was in the marines, I had to. It may seem stupid to you if you have never really had to do it, but once you have you will notice a lot about people. Don't knock it til you try it, man.

  • mccain always looks nerves and unprepared when obama talks about certain things..

  • did anyone notice that the info for this video clip says Author is Dave Navarro (the musician) and not Joe Navarro... who is the actual author? lol

  • jazzhands. wtf

  • McCain is frightened of Obama and Obama is disgusted with McCain. That's what I took from this.
