I'm not sure if this chord progression is in another song... but I made it up myself. Someone said it sounded like Rush but I hadn't even heard the song they were talking about. So ehhh whaddaya gonna do. I just played what sounded cool.
Me again, had to come back and listen cause it's so damn catchy!!! Dude, you should just record this as your song, it's fantastic!! How would you play it in open chords?
!RIVERS!... oh my gawd man, this Bleeding Orange dude might have something here... my vote goes to support his ideas, i'm lllloving it. And I love you;]
I think the only thing that makes anyone think that is the line "I miss my 80's radio." ... then again, I really liked that song. Did you know that they didn't even write that song? They bought it from another band I believe. You can hear the other version online if you search for it. It's not as good though.
Yeah... I can play lead guitar too. I just chose to do the simple progression here because I cannot play two parts at once.
I'm not GREAT at lead, but uhh, I can play stuff like Sweet Child O Mine pretty easily without messing up. I've had to fix a lot of "bad habits" I've picked up over the years. Double picking is something I'm still working on.
i really like it. although i'm worried Rivers won't pick this one, because you've put a lil' vocal melody over the top and it's not what rivers has asked for.
Eh well, I just think it's boring to just play chords. So I played each part out... just the chords, the melody, the riff based on the chords and then showed some potential the song could have based on those chords. Either way, ze chords are still in there! I can't help it, I enjoyed singing that part so I put it in the vid.
hey man, why dont you write your own version?

Haha... point taken, but it's pretty common to use these same chords. This kid has got the Weezer sound in mind and it's good!

Ozma anyone?
geraldford 3 years ago
You know, people say that, but I've never even heard Ozma before. I know they supposedly sound like Weezer or something.
bleed0range 3 years ago
No, Ozma is great. You should totally look them up. They're like my Weezer band when there is no Weez to be had.
geraldford 3 years ago
ozma is GREAT. It's a shame how much they are compared to =w= because they sound unique to me.
don't get me wrong, they are similar to weezer in some ways. think weezer blue album feel + lotsa keyboards + very clever lyrics.
shinjury 3 years ago
Man ... did I miss this songwriting thing by like 3 days? I bought the blue album 2 days ago, and I've never been this inspired.
Maybe Rivers'll do another one of these sometime.

I can also play every Weezer solo, ever. lol. Except In the Garage never sounds right. :(

not THAT similar but kind of similar to "Perfect Situation" (The "Oh's")

Ack. It's good, but turn down the distortion! You can barely hear the guitar.
