Hello there! Have you considered - fast abs magic (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some great things about it and my cooworker got detailed Six pack abs and lost crazy amounts of weight with it.
Pilates, like Yoga, has become too "trendy" and all sorts of special concoctions have been cooked up. I can't even tell which trainer can be trusted simply because I can't understand the basis of different types. The Classical ones could just be old-fashioned or the newer types could just be dodgy and made-up. Tsk.
We already do this in my yoga class and Im in highschool. I take a lot of extra time of mine to do yoga and Im pretty flexable and love yoga so much. Note for beginners: the first few weeks in yoga HURT so bad but I got used to it and its pretty calming now. Do not expect yoga to be relaxing at once because it does hurt sometimes. I do yoga and pilates and its a wonderful combo. xoxoxo <3

@scarred10 Actually, Pilates can definitely improve leg shape. I can tell from your comment, that you know little about it. There's over 600 exercises in classical Pilates alone, don't you think that some of them work? It wouldn't be so popular if it didn't. As an instructor, I can document evidence of it working...even on legs.
@lilagracemoves if diet was very good,any resistance exercise will build some muscle but pilates would be very low on that list except for beginners who respond to low intensity stimulus.Its also a vey poor calorie burner so would be weak on fat loss,its benefit is injury prevention , treatment and posture

i do these exercises while watching tv. it may not make you lose weight but at least you're keeping your muscles in shape and strengthing them. and it's so much better than just sitting around and rotting.
of course if you wanna lose weight you need to combine stretching with cardio workouts and strength training- it's a package deal. (so quitcha bitchin' people!) ;)
@samcameronberko Obviously you don't know much about low impact body shaping & core strengthening. All those exercises are absolutely valid and have proven to work for many many people.Your own body weight is more than enough to give your muscles a good workout.The elastic band shown in this video, IS used as the resistance you were speaking of!My background is quite extensive & I am a Pilates instructor as well as a stunt woman and i use those exercises on my self and my clients.AND they work!
@stellaangelova I am NOT dissing Pilates! Core strengthening is something I specialise in. I do a great deal of body weight exercises and am a big promoter of them! HOWEVER, as I said (and as you should know) - glutes and the thigh muscles are the strongest muscles in the body and need WAY more resistance to do what this video is claiming. The resistance band is even said to be "Optional"!!! I am a personal trainer and even clients tell me these exercises are ineffective without resistance!
@stellaangelova It seems to me you are just blindly jumping to the defense of Pilates in general as opposed to addressing the specific claim I made. To tell me what I "Obviously" do and don't know makes it personal and your statement about body weight - in the context of what this video claims here - "Legs to die for" and the way they show to attain it, demonstrates that you do not grasp what I am (specifically) talking about! High resistance doe NOT meal high impact either!
@ GluttonForSex, that is so untrue. I'm a black college student and some of the chicks w/the best legs/butts are white. A lot of people ride bikes around here though so maybe that's got something to do w/it. The BEST legs I've ever seen belonged to an Asian guy I saw @ bowling. Lol...I saw his legs first & was like "Wow"...then I saw the rest of him. We call him "Lady Legs".

Typically the only way for a white chick to get legs to die for is plastic surgery.
Asian chicks are almost universally more slender and elegant, and black/latina girls are typically more voluptuous. White women are almost always this half-assed in between.

@goldenharry yes i agree with you, i have pudgy legs even though i'm not overweight, this is why diet wouldn't help. I tried running which helped alot, and got stunning results after a few months of dancing lessons (mainly latin). good luck to all :D
@lilababy76 i got more info from the internet lol its actually better to walk than run. walking uses energy from your fat reserves because your heart rate determines where your body takes energy. a heart rate of 140-150 burns more fat rather than 180-190 which burns carbs or the calories that you take in from the day

@heyhannahhey actually it won't really increase the length that much as making the legs slimmer to appear longer. even thought it will literally add afew cm to your legs after about a year.
i do workouts in the gym and i dont have any problems with this exercise. tho it's fasctinating what a feeling you get in your body once done. when i did the leg-exercise at half of the video and stood up, my legs were all woobley (even tho i run and go to the gym). aswell you get a cozy/warm feeling like 10minutes after you have done the exercise

Rubbish!
You slim down (burn body fat) through appropriate nutritional choices and a program of activity to promote lean muscle growth.
THEN if you want to tone your legs and butt (The strongest muscles in your body) you HAVE to use resistance!!!! You cannot just push air molecules!
If you saw a video of someone telling you you could get toned arms by just flexing and relaxing your biceps - you would know that was rubbish!

i do workouts in the gym and i dont have any problems with this exercise. tho it's fasctinating what a feeling you get in your body once done. when i did the leg-exercise at half of the video and stood up, my legs were all woobley (even tho i run and go to the gym). aswell you get a cozy/warm feeling like 10minutes after you have done the exercise
