  • Some very interesting riffing going on man... Lead work was pretty ambitious as well. Lead tone could punch through a bit more though. Otherwise, this sum good shit :)

    I want a Loomis.

  • 1:15 is one of my favorite riffs of all time now.

  • epic!!!

  • Looks like somebody likes BF3 <3 <3 :) and your guitar skills are sick bro :)

  • dude your so fucking amazing how long you been playing for and sick guitar!

  • Dam u r good... how long u been playing?

  • @NZGuitarGuy thanks. about 8 years

  • Sick Schecter, Sick song, Battlefield 3 desktop background Subscribing for sure!!!

  • Sick man!

  • @anthonychrismignella dude! thanks man. good to hear from you :)

  • hey John, ive watched many of your videos, and i have to say that you definitely deserve more views! keep up the amazing work!

Also, i want to create a video with both classical and electric guitar at the same time. How do you merge two videos into one like this? i mean, with both videos' audio (2:57)

  • @link1nparkEEEwarrock thanks. yo will need proper video editing software. I use Adobe Premiere to layer video tracks, so you can have multiple playing at the same time.

  • Need something to name your Metal music?

    ( \ /) ( *,,,,*) (\ /)

    Why not Zoidberd?

    (sry couldn't resist)

  • @GearShotgun lol thanks. I was waiting for someone to post that

  • @jonnybarvo i just realised i spelled zoidberg zoidberd lol

  • I've seen a lot of your videos, and I love the sound of your down-tuned riffing on your Jeff Loomis signature. That's a seven string tuned to B or A? (I never understood why the nu-metal crowd tuned down to A, but I guess the lower the better in some cases). A lot of Nevermore influences as always....anyways, I like the tone. It's clean, precise yet dark.

  • @danomanno747 thanks. I'm tuned a half step down, just to even out the string tension due to the extended 26.5" scale. Standard tuning is a bit difficult to bend strings so playing a half step down (like Jeff Loomis does) feels better.

  • I HATE THE GUITAR TONE. At least that's what i thought when i first heard it. but after my 5th time listening to it i like it a lot now. haha. with some vocals it would be killer!

  • @DraXgonProductions lol thanks, I guess. I'm experimenting with tones and mixing techniques, so it will change a ot until I find something I like.

  • @jonnybarvo Keep up the good work man. If you wanna get some vocals on your songs let me know. My singer (screamer) would be totally down for it!

  • Man you gotta form a band- every song demonstrates your talents as a guitar player, and your creativity as a song writer. If you form a band, and make it, you can finally put Canada on the map for metal because I'm not satisfied with just having Anvil and Voivod.

But whatever... do what you want to do- just thinking your guitar playing is too good to not be utilized as a career.

  • @CorvusCasull not really. I always assume some type of gutteral vocals, like lamb of god. But I'm also a fan of clean singing, and female vocals kind of like Amy lee

  • I hear a lot of cool elements in here, a dash of Decapitated, a suggestion of Lamb of God, a nuance of Nevermore. It's a good blend!

  • Hey Jonny i'm learning guitar, you know, a total beginner. What would a pro like you recommend a beginner like me? Thanks in advance (:

  • @ZuperFreak01 watch a lot of youtube lessons, and read guitar world magazine. that's what I did

  • @ZuperFreak01 I also suggest getting into a band with more experienced musicians. It drives you to push yourself harder to keep up with the others. Up until recently I was what I would consider still a beginner, but the guitarist in the band I do vocals for got kicked out, so I said I'd do rhythm while the other guitarist done lead. That was less than six months ago and I now would consider my rhythm playing to be much tighter, and I am playing way more complicated riffs now.

  • what DAW do you use?

  • @sanjinator17 I use FL Studio and Cool Edit Pro :D haha, not very high-tech

  • @Shedblood7 hmmm I think it's the same as my gamertag, which is J0NNYBRAV0 and the o's are zeros

  • @DesolateParadise ya my tones are all messed up :(

  • You have never let us down dude! Keep going :)

May ask your battlelog because I cant find any soldier named Jonnybarvo ?

    Merry X-mas :D

  • riff around 1:03 reminds me of psycroptic, nice!

  • Sick song man. Feeling the tone!

  • 1:09-1:28 was good

  • Yo you should add some vocals to this song. I can imagining some screaming on this song.

  • @shadowknight132 I write all of my songs with vocals in mind, but don't have anyone to do them.

  • @jonnybarvo

Do you ever have a specific vocal style in mind while writing?

  • as heavy as it sounds....i still think ur rhythm tone can be better :P....great work tho =)

  • sounds sick!!! Better than I'll ever play.

  • souns amazing dude, i just think that the solo needs a little bit more volume

  • Awesome...great wrk

  • Solo tone was a little strange sounding in the mix. I think it should have stuck out more. Sick song though!

  • sounds awesome man
