Some very interesting riffing going on man... Lead work was pretty ambitious as well. Lead tone could punch through a bit more though. Otherwise, this sum good shit :)
hey John, ive watched many of your videos, and i have to say that you definitely deserve more views! keep up the amazing work!
Also, i want to create a video with both classical and electric guitar at the same time. How do you merge two videos into one like this? i mean, with both videos' audio (2:57)
@link1nparkEEEwarrock thanks. yo will need proper video editing software. I use Adobe Premiere to layer video tracks, so you can have multiple playing at the same time.
I've seen a lot of your videos, and I love the sound of your down-tuned riffing on your Jeff Loomis signature. That's a seven string tuned to B or A? (I never understood why the nu-metal crowd tuned down to A, but I guess the lower the better in some cases). A lot of Nevermore influences as always....anyways, I like the tone. It's clean, precise yet dark.
@danomanno747 thanks. I'm tuned a half step down, just to even out the string tension due to the extended 26.5" scale. Standard tuning is a bit difficult to bend strings so playing a half step down (like Jeff Loomis does) feels better.
I HATE THE GUITAR TONE. At least that's what i thought when i first heard it. but after my 5th time listening to it i like it a lot now. haha. with some vocals it would be killer!
Man you gotta form a band- every song demonstrates your talents as a guitar player, and your creativity as a song writer. If you form a band, and make it, you can finally put Canada on the map for metal because I'm not satisfied with just having Anvil and Voivod.
But whatever... do what you want to do- just thinking your guitar playing is too good to not be utilized as a career.
@CorvusCasull not really. I always assume some type of gutteral vocals, like lamb of god. But I'm also a fan of clean singing, and female vocals kind of like Amy lee
@ZuperFreak01 I also suggest getting into a band with more experienced musicians. It drives you to push yourself harder to keep up with the others. Up until recently I was what I would consider still a beginner, but the guitarist in the band I do vocals for got kicked out, so I said I'd do rhythm while the other guitarist done lead. That was less than six months ago and I now would consider my rhythm playing to be much tighter, and I am playing way more complicated riffs now.

I hear a lot of cool elements in here, a dash of Decapitated, a suggestion of Lamb of God, a nuance of Nevermore. It's a good blend!
