First of all if you take a realistic look at carbon dating you find that it is a flawed science. The oldest living thing on earth is between 4000-5000 years old which would put it just after the flood. The layers of the earth which scientists tells you were the surface at one time could only have been formed in water. If they were formed out of water then erosion would never have started until couple hundred years ago. Fossils can only happen from rapid burial not over time.

the answer is yes it was modified... the books of Macabees, Baruch, the books of Esdras, for example, were removed from the bible... yet the bible clearly states that the bible is the word of God and cannot be basterdized. Just as the Ecumenical council from 300 A.D, organized to agree on wether Jesus was a man or God, then modified the bible accordingly, the bible was again modified following the reformation. The books you mention are only in the catholic bible and have no relavence to christianity. The were removed from protetant Bibles because they were written by the agnostics not men of God. Few versions have remained the same but some unchanged if you don't know that then do some research. Luther only had a latin version so he was translating from a translation.
