Personally, I'm a Buddhist, but I think this song, and the Biblical story of Christmas, are beautiful. I might not be a Christian, but I love the story of Jesus's birth, as well as his life and death. It's a tear-jerkingly beautiful story about the true meaning of life. That life isn't about material things, it's about happiness, and love, and ultimately forgiveness. And that's a great lesson for anyone, of any religion. Merry Christmas.

How beautiful and more than amazing it must have been for Jesus to lay in a manger as a baby that night. I wish I could go back in time and see it! I thank God everyday for being so merciful and sending Jesus to earth for us. God has a plan for every human being He created; none can fathom how beautiful and forgiving our Lord is! Personally, I'm a Buddhist, but I think this song, and the Biblical story of Christmas, are beautiful. I might not be a Christian, but I love the story of Jesus's birth, as well as his life and death. It's a tear-jerkingly beautiful story about the true meaning of life. That life isn't about material things, it's about happiness, and love, and ultimately forgiveness. And that's a great lesson for anyone, of any religion. Merry Christmas.

Thanks for the kind words! Christmas has been so blown out of proportion with expensive gifts and whatnot.
I wouldn't care if I didn't get one thing for Christmas so long as I had my friends and family around me because that's what Christmas is all about.

I'm so excited! On Christmas Eve, I'm doing a solo singing, "Silent Night" and, "Away in a Manger" while playing guitar in church! A lot of other people are playing flute and drums and tamborine and piano and I'm so excited! BIG step for an eleven year old!

@TheMariionb While you're correct about the trolls, I gotta admit, this particular version is overproduced, labored & hackneyed. I'm not big on Xmas carols at all but this is a moving song regardless of the theme. However, this version; rather, the artists are trying to force it instead of letting it unfold by itself. Don't understand what I mean? Search for Andy Griffith's version of this song.
