Actually this movie is pretty good, for a TV film! Don't go by this trailer. It's horrible! Seems like the trailers that make a movie look great always end up sucking, and vice versa.

The lack of fuel was the pilot's responsibility. All pilots are required to check their aircraft before they fly, so even if the ground crew were supposed to fuel the plane and didn't, the pilots would've caught that in their check.

Good movie. Does anyone know where I can find "Miracle Landing" Online? My favorite based on true story airline movie is The Taking of Flight 847: The Uli Derickson Story. The late Uli Derickson was a hero. She was my inspiration when I worked in airline industry. I miss it.

Why didn't they just leave it "Air Canada" Everyone knew about the  Gimli Goose.

Sadly the plane was not even kept in Canada in an air museum.

Jorge Montesi is a pretty good director. I enjoyed his film "Visitors of the Night", not to be confused by his other film "Night Visitors".

im sure this is the flight that national geographic filmed about on air crash investigation. they land on an old air base whilst there is an event there for the weekend.

rosserluke: That's right, it's the same incident. On the movie they changed the airline and flight number from Air Canada 143 to Canada World 174, as well as certain names. Also "certain scenes were created for dramatic purposes" (as per the disclaimer at the beginning of the movie).

God, this trailer is cheesy. Well, is does have Shelly Hack. That says enough. If you want a better version, watch it on Discovery Canada under "Mayday". It is a great show.
