No good Chef working with quality ingredients would want to put anything in that thing & have holes stabed into, we have to much respect for the produce we are working with, we would rather let in marinade for a few hours depending on the type of meat or fish so when it comes to cooking & then presenting the food it is still in top condition.
Also look at how many different parts need cleaning, what a PITA, when all you really need to clean is the marinating dish.
Wow. Talk about unsanitary! You really should have done the steak first. In doing the chicken first, you completely contaminated that steak. Yuck!

Come on all it does it stab holes in the meat, if you did that with a scewer to the "traditionaly marinated" meat it would be the same.
Im a Chef & have worked in several high end kitchens, no Chef I had met or worked with uses any of these types of gadget.
Its all knives & sometimes a traditional Mandolin for dauphinois etc.

when you vacuum pump it it "marinates from the outside in?!" So if you don't vacuum pump, does that mean it marinates from the inside out?
