  • is there a mod for this because regular rome and the expansions dont have the hittites or these chariots

  • Is this Rome Total War?

  • @lordsonnyxixi yah.

  • i love history shows, it makes it much easier

  • why is it that history channel always showed western civilization?! how about asian history or aztec history?! fucking angos

  • @pcortes1987 In rome total war they don't have the asian or aztec factions BECAUSE IT'S ROME TOTAL WAR

  • too bad history doesn't have many good shows like this anymore.

  • ROME TOTAL WAR ROCKS MENN!!!!

  • @Bajedu + Europa Barbarorum

  • @Mistermax30 Sorry but ie, no they weren't! Please do not get ready to make a fool of yourself!! Because Egyptians are east Africans carrying E1b1b genes meaning paternal. Learn history before you speak ignorantly. I'm not trying to be mean just throwing that out there...

  • @aznien9

A lot of Italians, Albanians and Greeks carry E1b1b genes as well.

It's not exclusively African. Not to mention, it's not Y-DNA that matters. It's autosomal DNA that matters.

  • @HungarianNationalist You are correct but incorrect at the same time. E1b1b is not exclusive to africa but it is indigenous to east african and african populations. Seeing as how ancient egyptians carried E1b1b the autosomal DNA part is correct then because it is for connecting modern peoples to historic populations. You need to futher look into E1b1b and realiza that italians(sicilians), Ablanians, Greeks, Andalusians, jews carry mutated versions of E1b1b Y chromosome DNA. OOA wins again.

  • @1999521 haha white boy got jokes. You ever heard of out of Africa moron? I'm not defending any afrocentrist. I do my own research. Don't talk because my country beats your piece of shit country any day. Lol where does it say Aryans wrote the Vedas stupidass as you so erroneously suggest?

  • @Mistermax30 is that why-while the Pharoahs in Africa where Building pyramids and grande buildings, the whites in Europe were hunter gatherers living in huts, lol Whats with white people always trying to steal other peoples history and resources, as if stealing African diamonds weren't enough, now you trying to claim Black people's history? Its like Europeans trying to claim Native American history, what a joke! You might as well claim the Ethiopians and Somalis, who look like Ancient Egyptians.

  • @sm0keshell Why are you so concerned with events that occurred inside the CONTINENT OF AFRICA. Is there no history inside Europe to concern yourself with? Now all of a sudden you are an expert in African History? The only hunter gatherers and cave dwellers that were well known are the White Europeans, and the Barbaric vikings that had nothing better to do but slaughter each other. Africa is blessed with numerous ancient kingdoms, Puntland, Axum Empire(Ethiopia), Ancient Egypt, Ghana Empire, etc

  • @Mudug2006 Did i say i was concerned with Africa? No, i am only concerned about your racist remarks against white people, you are a racist piece of shit and you should fuck off with your stupid facist remarks, anyway the Africa today is a shithole...

  • @sm0keshell Apparently you are deaf, dumb and blind, cause you can't even see the fact that YOU are the one calling Africa names, etc, etc. And you dare call anyone else racist?? All i did was tell the truth about OUR African History. Anyways, WHY ARE YOU STILL TALKING TO ME??

    VIVA AFRICA

    &

VIVA everyone else who is NOT a racist, and does not try to steal/hide other people's history.

  • Oromo people are the first do everything that people in joy today.

  • lt spears?

  • those loud backgrounds music...

  • the egyptians lost the battle because they had not fully upgraded their blacksmith

  • ROME TOTAL WAR!!!

  • "all right, we know how to deal with this kind of sucker"

i can't believe he said that

  • @Alesandros356 Yeah ikr! I thought he said something like Shesh shuma wutaa luka!!!

  • Iranians are not Hittitis. Iranians are close to Indians. Tukis are close to Syrians. Ramses may have not been even an African man but ruled it like cleopatra. Amazing to think that ehyptians have ruled Middle East

  • @vixi92 ramses was an east african man look at his depictions and then look at east africans

  • @aznien9 Yes, and JFK was actually chinese.

Ramses has been proven to be red haired, as well as his father Seti and his descendant Siptah. They came from a family of red heads. In fact, in ancient egypt red hair was linked to god Set, hence the name of seti.

    Get a life afronut.

  • @1999521 First of your a joke for the jfk thing. Second were is your genetic proof for this red hair source. Third Ramses hair?? Seriously? Who doesnt know by now that that was already disproven. Heres some education for ya about hair!! Egyptians dyed there hair using henna. So that already disproves your red hair bullshit. Try coming up with a better lie then that lol. Im not african by the way im indian!! DUMBASS!!

  • @1999521 Listen i hope your not some pretend wannabe white boy egyptian. Because if you are this is going to get real bad for you lol! Im fuckin indian kid.. You dont want to test me.

  • @1999521 Listen i hope your not some pretend wannabe white boy egyptian. Because if you are this is going to get real bad for you lol! Im fuckin indian kid.. You dont want to test me.

  • @1999521 not responding? Yeah i think thats your best option at this point. India rules bitch!

  • @1999521 not responding? Yeah i think thats your best option at this point. India rules bitch!

  • @aznien9 Oh, so you´re indian!! Sorry man, I thought you´re black. You´re the first indian man defending afronuts that I´ve seen.

I´m not egyptian man. Just a typical white guy. Like egyptians and north africans in general. And do you remember the good old aryans that invaded India and wrote the famous vedas? They came from europe too!!!

  • Hittitis were not iranians but turkish. Iranians are closer to Indians in all language looks and culture. Turkish are similar to Syrians.

  • by that i mean the hettits..alans..sarmatians.. not the egypt people ofcourse

  • All these battles are fought against tribes from Iranian origin..why do you not acknowledge that fact.. this is fucked up..you cannot ignore the iranian power which maintained 3 colonies for 2700 years...

    Iran

  • @BEYADEHVATAN THe Hittites werent Iranian they were Anatalonian Indo Europeans they are linked to the Iranians because of comom Indo European Ancestry but they werent Iranian

  • @BEYADEHVATAN Persia will be in the ash heap of history

  • @BEYADEHVATAN Wait what? The Hittites aren't Iranian. They aren't even close. They were from modern Turkey. And neither was anyone fighting in this battle. wtf are you talking about?

  • @Stubacca01 They were indo european which means there close to iranian people

  • Comment removed

  • @hadyknight30 They were close to the Iranian people in the same way that the Iranians are close to the Germans. ie: not very. They're both Indo-European in origin which means that they had a common language many thousands of years ago but that's it.

  • @hadyknight30

They were certainly not close to, or culturally similar to, the Iranians.

  • @BEYADEHVATAN

No... The Iranians weren't active in either of those regions till much later, and had nothing to do with Hittites.

  • Can we please have the old history channel back because im pretty sure guys chopping down trees isnt history

  • @thegreatmenofwar so true, its ridiculous

  • @thegreatmenofwar Its all on History International now

  • @thegreatmenofwar You're right. I've thought this for a long time. Rednecks high off Adderall fishing, cutting down trees, and rummaging through the trash of others looking for collectibles is history. But by that logic, me going to the bathroom is history. I think that would be better TV....

  • @thegreatmenofwar "its living history" ::rolls eyes::

  • @johnkerry7 thats a complete contradictory

  • @demise9998 thats why i rolles my eyes, the history channel sucks now, however there is some truth that EVERY minute that passes is in the past and so therefore anything shown on TV on that channel is History....so even Ice Road Truckers is in fact a history show.

  • i love military strategy

    it turns me on

  • how many vids do you have lol that was awsome xd

  • for some reason i can't take this seriously

  • lmao, I'm verry sorry but i can't he;p it, I need to laugh everytime when I see John Ray's face xD

  • @TheTZT Nope this program is wrong sometimes although I like it

  • Do scholars really use total war games to re create battles?

  • @TheTZT these are incorrect facts

  • Well horse able to hold man in his back apper first in 900 BC and it was end of age of chariots.Cavalry in 1274 BC is pure fiction, any attempt to ride on horse back will lead into horse with broken backbone..Creating riding horse was very long process, perhaps the most time consuming project in human history.Do to this, even now in 2010 some sub-types of horsers are uncompatibile to each other in case of making crossbreed.Even if they look exactly same.Because each cultere use different way.

  • i tell you this shit with ramses and moses pisses me off its fake ramses never drowned and he never even killed little babies its all fake stuff that they make up ramses died at like 90 years of age due to arthritis

  • super pharoa!

  • "Forigners have to be kept in check" isn't that America's policy? history is repeating

  • @ashif21 and like all great empires the United states will fall!

  • @Senorize God's word's saysNO

  • @ashif21 No America's policy is to kill any leaders that don't obey them and then place dictators in power that will obey them. Of course then they will say it's all for the spread of democracy. yeah right. lmao

  • Funny how this show is called decisive battles but this battle wasn't actually decisive.

  • @eatwoodman No kidding.

  • hittite (kurdish) vs egypete

  • Also when he says Thutmoses III defeated the Hittites at Megiddo...sorry Thutmoses wasn't fighting Hittites he was fighting Cananites and the Mitanni tribes.

  • @beepandbop At the time, the Cannanites and the Mitanni were client states of the Hittites. They could pursue their own ambitions as long as the Hittite king said they could. So either, the Hittite king had ordered the Cannanites and Mitanni to attack Megiddo or the campaign had been undertaken with the Hittite king's consent.

  • @englishfrenchgerman that can't be right. The Hittite King Suppiluliuma I (c. 1350–1322) first came into conflict with the Mitanni, during the revival of the Hittite Empire and fortunes. Thutmoses III lived a century earlier, from 1479–1425 BC.

Also, Suppiluliuma began conquering bits of the Mitanni Empire, but he hadn't crushed the entire thing under his fist--his successors would complete that task.

  • @TheTZT well there's a lot of discrepancies. "Professional historians" disagree with each other frequently, so it has nothing to do with "12 year olds vs. historians."

The entirety of history is disputed.

  • i heard it was 20,000 egyptions and 17,000 hititte soldiers...

  • It's definetly great, but still, about the exact date... Some sources say that the battle took place 1296 BC. I'm wondering, which is the thue one:)

  • About the stirrup. Ever wonder why the Huns were so superior? Almost every historian now agrees that the stirrup was a Hunnic invention, and was carried into Western civilizations by the campaigns of Attila.

  • @warlingo As yes, it was the stirrup, not sheer numbers, that made atillas campaign successful.

  • @iXChRoNiiKzx

It was his hyper mobility in a strategic sense that rocked the world. Most of Attila's critical battles were fought on foot AFTER having achieved a stunning surprise.

    Rome just couldn't solve Attila.

  • @warlingo

Incredibly, the Romans used the stirrup years before they ever met the Hun.

However, it was solely used to train the young for the saddle. It was considered to be 'training wheels'!

The real reason that the stirrup and calvary never took off in Rome was the food expense of massed horses in Italy vs the Steppes. Further, the Romans never developed footwear suitable for the stirrup. Note how different cowboy boots are from walking boots.

Plus, the cultural bias of infantry, first.

  • I hope they someday make a Total War title about the ancient middle east.

  • LMAO - "video game technology" !!!

  • R u stupid so what if its from RTW...they r using the game battle engine to recreate a historic ancient battle for u ignorant louts to learn something lol

  • @GuttsandGlory Learn and practice on how to type proper sentences with proper spelling if you want to sound smart

  • @BadGuy45 lol what a dumbass...i'll leave trying to sound smart to you.

  • people used chariot 1st,then ride directly on horse.why didnt they used cavarly 1st from the start instead of chariot? bcz saddle, stirrup was not available at that time?

  • @singularku yes...and who invented the stirrup? the Arabs did and Europe took it off them after they fought in France. Charles Martel I beleive and the battle of Tours...

  • @singularku Also it is very hard swinging a sword or charging home with a lance without using the stirrup for support hence no extreme use of cavalry...but still that is not very true...cavalry was used extensively by Alexander also i believe Caesar won the battle of Alesia mainly due to his Germanic Cavalry who also used no stirrup...Pathians watsed Crassus at Carrhai using cavalry archers and they also used no stirrup...so hmm food for thought maybe...

  • @GuttsandGlory

"Four horned" saddles were used which provided quite some stability. It did not provide the same support making the couched lance stance to a degree and fighting mounted in close combat difficult. "The Arabs" did not invent the stirrup and the stirrup were introduced earlier. :)

  • seems like parthian, armenian and georgian would take egypt in 48 hours. egyptian army are made of paper lol

  • Thanks for the great video's. I love this series.

  • Holy shit, imagine how ancient this battle is 0_0... Like 1274 BC?? And i thought that Roman times were shit ancient.

  • @Legolasas26 True. But noone can imagine it really.. no roads, no telephone, no pc.. was no such thing as a push button world back then, couldnt just drop a piece of paper in someone's lap for a beer.

  • lmao "with new video game technology"

  • @antikackz this tv series was released in mid 2004 and rtw was released in september 2004 so back then it was a new video game technonoly fucking idiot next time use ur brain if u have one before commenting........

  • @TheTZT Read something on Wikipedia*

  • i hear it again and again in case iam wrong but NO they are indeed saying that red hair is a result of intermarriage with....ASIANS!!!!hahahahhahaahhahahahaaaa

HEY THERE IN THE HISTORY CHANNEL there is a continent named EUROPE were the RED HAIRED PEOPLE ARE MOST COMMONLY FOUND

  • @Napoleontas They were probably talking about Hykos, Asiatic people who invaded Egypt about 400 years before this battle occurred.

  • What kind of reasoning is that?

"He probably had red hair, result of earlier intermarriage with.....ASIAN people????????

I have seen a viking red haired a northern european red hair,ia my self iam a greek red hair but i have never seen a mongol red haired.... I think they have some reasoning issues in that docu

  • Does anyone know where can I get the Total War games for Mac OS? Thanks.

  • @Sharukkin buy a pc

  • @Sharukkin games for the mac are nothing but an illusion.

  • @666valhalonia666 What u mean?

  • @TheTZT right on. these ppl have degrees in Military history and world History.

  • THRACIAN RODOPE: the hittites were in Syria and Turkey. NOT Greece

  • haha New Technology ?

  • Hittites=Greeks

  • @ThracianRhodope nope. greeks already exsisted at the time.

  • haha Music is from Jeff von Dyck :D

very very nice. that they worked toghether

  • I love how everyone goes "Durr that's Rome Total War, it's not new" and never think that the show might be just a few years old.

  • new video game technology!

  • looks like rome total war:P

  • it is rome total war...

  • Music from Rome total war \m/

  • id becool if they had hitites in rome total war

  • It would be cooler if they made a Total War game during the ancient world. U know before the time Rome came into existence.

  • @pierreg666

Yeah, interesting time frame. Time of Egyption New Kingdom, Hettites, Babylon, Assyria, maybe Minoans. Transition from the late bronze age to early iron age. Invasion of sea peoples, Bronze age collapse. etc. Someone should make a mod about that.

  • I'm not talking about a mod....I'm talking a series of Total War games. Ancient World Total War it would be called or something!!!!!

  • Hittites preceded Rome (even the city itself) by several centuries...

  • The sand in that area isn't like the Sahara. I assume it's like the rest of the desert in the Negev and Sinai: dense sand and full of small rocks. Must have been a bumpy ride but not so difficult.

  • I luv socially awk historians!

  • Does anybody know the link (if they posted it) about the Battle of Raphia.

  • wring chariots were not ment to smash into the enemy they were ment to circle around and fire at enemy infantry and other chariots

  • lol i play rome total war

    sweet and they

    say video games

    are

    bad for u :D

  • This show is fantastic!

  • egyptians called the hittites "women warriors" b/c of there long hair

  • lol

  • my name is kadesh no lie. Its hebrew for holy.

  • Rome has the best of the soundtracks of all Total War games.

  • @trancedgs Rome is one of the best total war games ever!

  • Any idea why people were so short in ancient times? I mean 5'7" is tall for ancient Egyptians? o_O Has humanity gotten taller due to, I guess, natural selection? Since most people attribute tall stature as a secondary sex characteristic? Or am I just talking out of my ass?

  • Natural selection, genes, play a part in height, but environmental factors such as diet, exercise, disease and living conditions also play a part. As human living conditions improved (houses/warmth/medical/sanitary) and food was able to be produced on mass, human height increased.

  • Ohh duh, I guess diet and health would make sense, thanks

  • Ive often heard that the reason for peoples relative shortness in the pre modern era (all the way up to Napoleonic times) is because of a limited food supply, there simply wasnt enough food to go around so people got by with less.

  • actually nutrition is considered one of, maybe the most important factor

  • better nutrition

  • Ok, I've watched the whole series now and I can safely say that the presenter is a dick.

  • Chariots. the last thing the chariot driver wanted was to be among the enemy ranks!! to fight with chariots you charge en mass right at the enemy. at the last moment you pull a U-Turn! and let fly with arrows, sling stones, and javelins. then you repeat the process until youre missiles are gone, then the warrior jumps off to fight on foot. and the driver goes to safe distance to await the hopeful return of the victorious warrior!

  • or, with scythe chariots you simply make a 90° turn and you let the scythes cut them to smithereens

  • This episode is really fun and educational. Thanks for posting, YTube9404.

  • I agree with this, historians know what they are talking about, if you watched more they have the battle on an ancient Egyptian tablet so I'm pretty sure that the Egyptians knew who their Pharaoh was at the time.

  • Comment removed

  • it is mostly believed by historians that it was not Ramesess the II but his father seti

  • they did not mixed with no damn asian. they used henna to color their hair and it would turn a reddish brown again contradiction you said they disliked foreigners so get your lis right or tell the truth

  • Well, obviously exceptions would have to be made for hot foreigners. But your info on henna dye makes sense.

  • lol ramesses second hair was naturally red, it wasnt dyed. he had red hair.

  • so basically this battle took place in Canaan, cz Qadesh is now a region in modern day Lebanon

  • there is a mistake in the map they show at the start, they put Canaan region where present day Sinai in Egypt is, but the truth is that Canaan is more to the north in the present day Lebanon

  • is this the pharaoh that moses met?

  • No. That pharaoh is never named. Don't believe everything you hear on Prince of Egypt.

  • At the time the Jews fled Egypt, Ramses II would have been Pharaoh. It was his father Seti that used the Jews as a labor Force.

  • They're from Rome: Total War

  • they're from rome total war

  • I dont mean to cause offense but Americans really are crap at making decent documentaries they get it right sometimes but the british do it so much better

  • For Mikkel

  • for idiot!

  • rome total war.......just how the hack they put large unit in the computer back to 2004? not even radeon x800 series can hold off 6000 unti at one battle.
