@Thespiella I really don't even remember posting this comment but I assure you that whatever I was thinking when I wrote that was not meant to put down churches. I am and have always had a relationship with God and wouldn't post something like that. Looking back on the comments before mine, I think I might have been referring to all of the people that said they left their churches because of bad experiences. The kind of church that maybe did not make them feel welcome or loved.
@marrocks20 The one thing I love of things that happen in the church, is failing... Because it goes to show that God is workin gin us.. It goes to show that we are only human.. Will we fail, absolutely, but to me that just a sign that Christ our King, is going to fix us up the way HE wants us to be! :) I encourage you to earnestly pray for your family,(in Christ) and ask for discernment to get just a hint of patience and knowledge of what it is, God is doing.. :) Be Blessed Man!
Just to say that, even though I no longer believe as you guys do, I appreciate all the comments, and just wish that people at my church could have been like that. I wasn't perfect; in fact, I was downright nasty and divisive in terms of the way I left; I burned many bridges and damaged many prized relationships. I slandered friends, brothers and sisters and people who had been there for me. But the way they acted first was unforgiveable-and patriarchal, domineering and forceful.
I had a sour experience at a church.. and kinda drifted away.. but at the end of the day, i felt that was the enemies plan.. i'm back... and found a new church.. We just bought a shirt from the church... it says... I am messed up, I am jacked up, I am Loved.. they also have another one that says, no perfect people allowed... ;) we're human.. we all mess up.. that was the purpose for Jesus dying on the cross for us.. @jlmjrag I had a similar experience when i was very young that stuck with me for almost 38 years, but by the grace of God i to have found that it was the devils plan all along not Gods. I found my salvation on my knees in a jail cell. I now lie in in His loving arms and listen to this great music that has helped to change my life around.This is great music with an inspiring message.
God is good, no matter what your situation is. I pray that whatever happened to your and you fiancee you will turn back to God. He still loves you no matter what. God bless

Good thing Christianity is about a relationship with Jesus and not the church...you don't need to church to be a Christian. Why were you a worship singer if you never had a personal intimate relationship with Jesus Christ I ask? It seems like you church had more problems then one. Which they all do. @omarrocks20 it sad to hear that church treated you badly. i'm only a teen and already my church youth has made me feel excluded. its hard for me to love the church people especially when i feel like i'm the only one who is truly worshiping with all of my heart. but i realized that it doesnt matter what other people say to me or how they treat me. God told us that if we followed Him that our lives on this earth wouldn't be easy, but the reward He has for us in heaven will be unimaginable.
Tears welled up in my eyes as i heard this song. It made me think: Who are we living for? God's will, or yours? "Forever I will pray, have your way". Being a better person shows God reflected in us, and God will light the path in our lives, not our own torch. Jesus<3
I love the song, but I am an atheist, and dead set against faith of any kind. It is dangerous, and as Dawkins says, "moderate faith is the bridge to extremism" (God Delusion, 2006). It reminds me of when I used to be a christian, and I felt there was still some magic in the world, when I used to be a worship singer. After the way the church has treated me and my fiancee, and given the logical obstructions, I could never go back to church or christianity. Good tune though :)

But people use these discoveries in the wrong way and kill a lot of people, but that doesn't mean that science is bad. The church you were in and your fiancee, are not God, just because they were bad christians, that doesn't make christianity a bad thing.

It sounds like you're not quite sure you're an Atheist either. Maybe you've "decided" to become an atheist to get back at the church for the way they treated you. Look how the "Church" treated Jesus. So he hung out with his disciples instead, and stayed away from the religeous leaders of the time. Turn your back on the church but don't turn you back on God.

@katfikir I think debating whether God is real or not is pointless. and berating someone based on their decision only makes them more confident in their decision. “Don't cast your pearls before swine” sort of thing. If he was in a leadership position then he know everything your going to say. And has probably said it all to someone else before. If he wants to return to the Way he will. If not none of our Opinions on what will happen to him really matter. Because its Gods choice not ours.

The church is people who have problems just like anyone else, God is the one that no matter what will always treat you with love, and respect you :) and I love my pastor and church family, but if you look back in history, there has been alot of problems in religion, but we have to look at Gods love that has seen all of the horror through and loved his people no matter what has happened
I'm sad to hear that the people in your church treated you and your family awfully. But remember this: Christ NEVER called us to "follow is followers". We aren't perfect. He wants us to "Follow HIM". And although you aren't a Christian anymore, I will still pray that God bless you and your family and keep you safe, because that is what happens when the true love of Christ takes over a life. It is so powerful and overwhelming that I can't keep it to myself. So I'll share with you.

I went through a stage where i'd laugh in everyones face who spoke of God, after previously loving him. but i was in such a dark place where i let the devil control me. i was miserable, hating and self loathing. @Thespiella I really don't even remember posting this comment but I assure you that whatever I was thinking when I wrote that was not meant to put down churches. I am and have always had a relationship with God and wouldn't post something like that. Looking back on the comments before mine, I think I might have been referring to all of the people that said they left their churches because of bad experiences. The kind of church that maybe did not make them feel welcome or loved.

@marrocks20 The one thing I love of things that happen in the church, is failing... Because it goes to show that God is workin gin us.. It goes to show that we are only human.. Will we fail, absolutely, but to me that just a sign that Christ our King, is going to fix us up the way HE wants us to be! :) I encourage you to earnestly pray for your family,(in Christ) and ask for discernment to get just a hint of patience and knowledge of what it is, God is doing.. :) Be Blessed Man!

Just to say that, even though I no longer believe as you guys do, I appreciate all the comments, and just wish that people at my church could have been like that. I wasn't perfect; in fact, I was downright nasty and divisive in terms of the way I left; I burned many bridges and damaged many prized relationships. I slandered friends, brothers and sisters and people who had been there for me. But the way they acted first was unforgiveable-and patriarchal, domineering and forceful.

I had a sour experience at a church.. and kinda drifted away.. but at the end of the day, i felt that was the enemies plan.. i'm back... and found a new church.. We just bought a shirt from the church... it says... I am messed up, I am jacked up, I am Loved.. they also have another one that says, no perfect people allowed... ;) we're human.. we all mess up.. that was the purpose for Jesus dying on the cross for us.. @jlmjrag I had a similar experience when i was very young that stuck with me for almost 38 years, but by the grace of God i to have found that it was the devils plan all along not Gods. I found my salvation on my knees in a jail cell. I now lie in in His loving arms and listen to this great music that has helped to change my life around.This is great music with an inspiring message.

He was real to me before and he still is. You see when I could not care less about God I always knew he was real. Two years later hear I had no one to turn too. When I was depressed and on the brink of losing my mind God reminded me that he is still here for me. I had no one/where to turn but on my knees. He really did give me peace and made every day easier.

Good thing Christianity is about a relationship with Jesus and not the church...you don't need to church to be a Christian. Why were you a worship singer if you never had a personal intimate relationship with Jesus Christ I ask? It seems like you church had more problems then one. Which they all do. @omarrocks20 it sad to hear that church treated you badly. i'm only a teen and already my church youth has made me feel excluded. its hard for me to love the church people especially when i feel like i'm the only one who is truly worshiping with all of my heart. but i realized that it doesnt matter what other people say to me or how they treat me. God told us that if we followed Him that our lives on this earth wouldn't be easy, but the reward He has for us in heaven will be unimaginable.

I love the song, but I am an atheist, and dead set against faith of any kind. It is dangerous, and as Dawkins says, "moderate faith is the bridge to extremism" (God Delusion, 2006). It reminds me of when I used to be a christian, and I felt there was still some magic in the world, when I used to be a worship singer. After the way the church has treated me and my fiancee, and given the logical obstructions, I could never go back to church or christianity. Good tune though :)

As far as logical... @wenbinbin2010 I have a question for you, we know that dicoveries around the world (in science) have changed many things even in the medical fields. We can help a lot more people now. But people use these discoveries in the wrong way and kill a lot of people, but that doesn't mean that science is bad. The church you were in and your fiancee, are not God, just because they were bad christians, that doesn't make christianity a bad thing.

It sounds like you're not quite sure you're an Atheist either. Maybe you've "decided" to become an atheist to get back at the church for the way they treated you. Look how the "Church" treated Jesus. So he hung out with his disciples instead, and stayed away from the religeous leaders of the time. Turn your back on the church but don't turn you back on God.

@katfikir I think debating whether God is real or not is pointless. and berating someone based on their decision only makes them more confident in their decision. “Don't cast your pearls before swine” sort of thing. If he was in a leadership position then he know everything your going to say. And has probably said it all to someone else before. If he wants to return to the Way he will. If not none of our Opinions on what will happen to him really matter. Because its Gods choice not ours.

@omarrocks20 Your choice and the choice of the Church that treated you badly does not effect how very much God still yet loves you. as Christians it is our duty to hold each other up in prayer and accountable. not to pass judgment. however if your in a position of leadership and you are living in sin. they must ask you to step down. not out of hate or because you are suppose to be a saint but because people look up to worship leaders and what they see must be a Christ like representation.

You have faith and you worship, but apparently your faith is in something other than God, man perhaps, Dawkins apparently, and you worship something other than God also. I'm sad to hear that the people in your church treated you and your family awfully. But remember this: Christ NEVER called us to "follow is followers". We aren't perfect. He wants us to "Follow HIM". And although you aren't a Christian anymore, I will still pray that God bless you and your family and keep you safe, because that is what happens when the true love of Christ takes over a life. Statistics show that 80% of the people on earth claim to be Christian. Only 15% of that 80% is telling the truth. So I would like to be the first to sincerely apologize that you had to deal with that pain and rejection from that 65%. I hope that someday you can come back to God's arms, because as this song says, they're open wide.

I went through a stage where i'd laugh in everyones face who spoke of God, after previously loving him. but i was in such a dark place where i let the devil control me. i was miserable, hating and self loathing. God is real, God does love you. I struggle with sin everyday of my life, but if it's one thing i know, is he is not the cause of your pain, or suffering, the devil is. I will pray for you. just open your heart a little to God, and he wont let you down.

@omarrocks20 Dawkins is contradicting his own statement if u think about it. if moder8 faith is the brigde to extremism then having 'faith' in other ideology is also a path to 'extremism'. ie: democracy vs republicanism; tradition vs modernity. more so, having faith in yourself to mature may also be a "bridge to extremism." my professor once said, "religion (and Christianity) does not cause wars--people do.Christ didnt cause u lose2 ur faith, but pple in dat congregation.
