  • @Americancricket11

Scots wore 'Plaids' back in the day.... not kilts ! kilts are a modern invention. 19/20th century

  • @mrbassman25

The modern kilts of today are nothing like what my ancerstors wore, the first noted clothing was by early Celts and Picts in which they wore a singled colored piece of wool, the first kilts were near the end of 16th century

  • @Americancricket11

i know my countrys history thanks ;-) .... but seriously... a Plaid is where it is all at !! those utilikilts are awfull looking !

  • @mrbassman25

But you can be wrong, just because you're from Scotland doesn't make you an instant expert.

  • @Americancricket11

i can be wrong, but its a FACT that the odern 'kilt' was at most a late 18th century/early 19th century design,

taken from the plaid kilt (one big piece of cloth) which was the traditional dress.

and also because im 99.9% Scottish.... it sure helps when talking to non scottish or 5th generation ''scottish decendants'' lol ... i know my heritage and im passionate about it. The day an American knows more about my culture is the day i will become English !

  • @mrbassman25

But the first techinally considerable kilt was a traditonal dress by men and boys of the Scottish Highlands in the 16th century

  • @Americancricket11

lmao.... Wikipedia wont help u much my friend.... that was called a kilt... but it was a PLAID kilt... one piece of cloth.... we have modern meanings for the word 'kilt' now. but in the 16th century... a kilt was a piece of cloth... that was your bedding and clothing !! untill the new designs were made in late 18th century, which was just the bottom half of the traditional ''plaid kilt'' ;)

  • Remember your first kilt?

  • Real Men wear Kilts,,,,

I encourage all men, young and old to go kilted.

  • being Scottish myself, id have to say, with respect, it was a pretty unconvincing accent lol

  • Wow!! What I like to say is that it was my first time at a highland games. It was my first time getting a utilikilt. I'm not a scot. I only went as a favor for my friend with a fake scottish accent. lol

  • excellent

  • Um... He's at a Highland Games. I think it's safe to bet it's not his first. With that said, there's no way this is the first time he's seen a "utilikilt." No, I was thinking he was more disgusted at the douche in the Wallace Hunting doing that god awful "Scottish Accent." Or, just the douche-bagedness of the whole lot of them.

  • Me: I'm surrounded!

  • The old gent in the Wallace kilt looks so disgusted.
