Larry Melman played a prank on the notoriously near-sighted Letterman once by replacing himself with Truman Capote for one skit. It is rumored that Capote seduced Letterman leaving him confused sexually for decades.

Letterman was funny, way back when, before he became a tool of the crypto-fascist-socialist-capit­alists running this country into the ground. Most people don't know this, but the reason david letterman was not given the Tonight Show was because of a disturbing video circulated to the top brass at GE that showed him frolicking with John Denver in a hot tub back in the 70's. The only remaining copy of the video is owned by Harvey Pekar, and that's why letterman won't let him back on, ever.
