It wasn't really pure good-evil morality metre, more about tenderness vrs forcefulness. Bioware did a good job inserting some elements of grey morality in it. I for one whole heartedly endorsed the execution of the Rachni Queen. Given the damage its kind had caused and potential, it was not something that should have been released just because it promised to be nice when you pressed a trigger to its head (metahprocally). Most crewmates certianly preffered this option...

this is inspiring. i clicked on the thumbnail and thought hmm what's this probably one of those redundant makeup tutorials but you're actually talking about something non-girlie. forgive my oldfashionedness but back when i was a gamer there were no girls into it. maybe Tetris or maaaaybe LucasArts adventures, but into action games: absolutely no chance, nada. i would love to grow up once again, but nowadays the games aren't as quirky so it's quite a tradeoff.
@asands123 due to self-imposed gaming prohibition, i have no idea what they sell as RPG nowadays but if you like the action/rpg combo you gotta check out the classics System Shock and Deus Ex, they're both scifi. or if you want a 1st person fantasy RPG with the full works, there's Daggerfall. but one game you'd probably love is 'No one lives Forever' (PC, came out in 2000) it's got the coolest female protagonist, extremely varied level design and a sarcastic 60s vibe. my personal cult hit!
@DJBROOKSEY fallout3 is also really good. a lot of other good RPg's are chrono trigger (for snes), knights of the old republic I & II (star wars RPG), final fantasy III for snes and theres more out there of course, just cant think of them right now :)

Since you like ME you should try ME2 was is also amazing. And your decisions in ME2 will effect what hapens in ME3. Also, you CAN pause the game and then tell your squad what to do, and then when you "unpause" (bless you, you just sneezed) the squad carries out your orders. Come to think of it, I can't even remember if you can do that in ME1, but you can in ME2.
@kolla123 yeah, it reminds me a lot of knights of the old republic, you can also pause and make orders for your team so its in a way a lot more like turn based RPG's
I played a soldier female paragon the first time through too, and my second was a vanguard male renegade. You definitely have to play again with another class cuz the powers are a lot of fun.
You can pause the game in this and assign commands too just so you know. Anyway if you liked ME1, you'll LOVE ME2 which I'm going through now.

This is truly one of the best games, if not the best, I've ever played. The amount of depth in the story is breathtaking. I was pumping every damn bit of information into my brain...an authentic masterpiece. Shure it borrows a lot from previous sci-fi tales but this creation feels fresh and raises some really good questions during the experince.
Seeing as how you're a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire, I highly recommend you play Dragon Age (newly released by Bioware). It's storyline is heavily influenced by Martin's work.. and as always Bioware are the masters of the deeply engaging RPG experience.
I can guarantee you will be blown away and its well worth the money and a weekend of your time to play through.. :)
i started playing it like a week ago but ive been pretty busy with school so im not very far...first impression, good story line, colorful and nice world to explore, good selection of classes (youve got a lot to choose from), and tactics are pretty cool as well...graphics could be a bit better but overall pretty good...its also a little challenging which makes it more fun :)

Yep, same here. Finals next week and then Christmas break. Pretty convenient that ME2 comes out fairly soon. I started to re-play the game as a female rebel...but I'm not sure which save I'll continue from for ME2. I like to be the good guy the first time around.
I love Kotor and Mass Effect. It is much better on PC, performance is great compated to the Xbox version. I really am looking to The Old Republic, hopefully Bioware will not disappoint.
If you enjoyed Mass Effect , I recommend buying Mass Effect 3. It's release date is 3/6/2012.
