  • Excellent. I am having C5-C7 done Monday. Everything I am seeing with the Prodisc is what you portray in this video. Thanks for sharing.

  • down the road. already I have osteopenia, softening of the bones. I want an exoskeleton like a cyborg, lol!

  • From all I've heard, this type of injury is the gateway to other spinal issues

  • Unfortunately, I found out about this too late. Had I known and had I checked, I never would have proceeded because, he had several red flags including a settled malpractice suit. @rkl17, I have faith you will be OK. These surgeries are done hundreds of times daily with a very low chance of my outcome. Put your faith in yiur Higher Power's hands, ask for prayers

  • @rkl17 I truly wish I could answer you but can't afford a libel suit. I.can say this: he WAS a doctor in NJ but his license to practice has been yanked. I strongly suggest that ANYONE having surgery, pay a visit to their state's Attorney General website and look to see if the doctor has any flags, disciplinary issues, penfing or settled malpractice issues, etc.

  • I rode my motorcycle on the 4th 8 weeks after ACDF. Boy, that was a BIG MISTAKE!!!

My weakness as well as spasms have returned with a vengeance. My advice (if you would even consider it) don't do nothing for at least four months. I just wanted to be normal again, do the stuff I used to do. I felt good, but I have to realize I'll never be 'normal' again. By the way, the surgery was a success.

  • Were you permanently paralyzed? Can you tell me if you underwent surgery in the US?

  • Had, C4-C7 done with doner bone, and plates, two years ago. My life and pain were pure hell for years before this surgery. It helped sooo much! but.... now I have severe numbness in both pinky's and palms. Severe weakness. i am so scared something else has went wrong. Can't get into see the surgeon that did the operation, until the 23rd of this month. Went to my family doctor today, and he ordered an xray. Waiting on results :(

  • of my leg tendons. i had a baclofen pump installed to help regulate and cease the spasms altogether, but we haven't hit the magic number yet with the pump. i hope it happens soon so i can have the corrective surgery on my hip & tendons and be recuperated by summer's end.

i don't know why i poured out my sob story to you - i really did start out wondering about your life today and to let you know i am so happy that your surgery went so well.

    take care, jeanne

  • @512jellybeans Hi Jeane. Just read your story, and I'm hoping you have made good progress & are doing better now. I had the same surgery as you twice (C5-6 & C6-7 with plate & screws) and mine went well. Have lots more damage in my spine & will need future surgeries, but I'm grateful that my operations had a good outcome, and I'm so very sorry that yours didn't. Thank God you regained use of your arms!! Sounds like a miracle. Good luck with future treatment and your lawsuit. God Bless you.

  • i've kept your video for sometime now as a sign of hope that this CAN be successful surgery. i am paralyzed from the chest down (about T1) although my surgery was between c6/c7 with a disckectomy and cadaver bone with fusion between c5/c6. fortunately after many weeks of rehab, i regained use of both arms although i have extensive nerve damage and poor coordination (hence the lack of caps). currently i am in bed since 8/12/10 when my left hip dislocated due to severe spasticity & contractures

  • jennifer, just curious on how you're doing two years post op. i assume you went to germany for a two-level disc replacement since the fda in the us has restricted artificial disc replacement to one level.

i had my surgery in 10/2008 but due to "surgical error", i was paralyzed during the surgery. i can't go into details here as lawsuits have been processed and settled and i more or less have to keep mum about the whole thing and the amounts i've settled for out of court.

  • @512jellybeans Don't need the details - but PLEASE say the name of the physician. I will have surgery soon C5-C6, C6-C7. I have a lot of people who depend on me, I cannot have this outcome

  • I had a C5-6, C6-7 Prestige LP 2 years ago in Brisbane Australia. Unbelievable! Life has become painfree and relatively normal. I did a hang gliding course recently and we are about to go skiing in New Zealand. 6 years pre-op pain and left arm Radiculopathy has vanished into occasional neck stiffness that with a stretch or two I get over quickly. Hope you're doing well.

  • I got a Pro-Disc 2 years ago (C6-7). I knew immediately that years of pain was finally over. Although I had 4 weeks off of work for recovery, I was up & busy that week. I was playing volleyball 1.5 months post-op.

I had mine done in Ohio. It is hard to find physicians in the U.S. who work with these, but the list is growing. I got a second opinion before surgery and was advised to go with fusion, but I know I made the right choice. If anyone has questions, feel free to write.

  • looks to FAKE!!!

  • Well getting ready to have my same levels done with the ProDisc with Dr. Todd Lanman this coming Thursday. Looking forward to ridding myself of the pain.

  • Hi I`m glad your doing well..I also need a multilevel and one lumbar replaced but my insurance Cigna is denying the procedure....whos your insurance or do you know anyone that has had this done and paid by cigna? please time is of the esence..atrantum@clear.net

  • I've just had a single ProDisc replacement at level C6/7 a week ago in the UK and the results have been fantastic! No pain at all down the left arm or neck area, 4 months of torture over, thank you Dr Gerber.

  • @nickandelliott Hi, I"m just now seeing some of the responses to my postop video of my ADR sx of over 1 yr ago. I am still doing very well. Glad to hear of your success!!

  • Follow up...I had a single disc replacement (pro disc). In the hospital for about 2 days...pain was gone instantly...still some numbness and tingling in the arm and hand...but overall minor to what I had. There was no PT after...just rest...and some drugs. In fact, I went back to work (as a police officer on the road) in 6 weeks...amazing!

  • @policestew r you doing ok. thinking about germany or spain for adr. any advice

  • @victoriasvisions .....Well, had mine done almost a year ago...GREAT GREAT GREAT RESULTS!!!! I am a police officer and am back to FULL duty...I have little or no results of the injury. My Doc is one of the best in the world for this procedure: Emory Spine Center: Heller John MD‎

59 Executive Park South NE, Atlanta, GA 30329-2208

    (404) 778-7000‎

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ;)

  • Does anyone know how much these procedures cost? Do you have to be rich to benefit from this? Thanks

  • I totally bought in to the Mark Minster comment. I am getting ready to see my surgeon in about a week...very nervous...but your video helped. Hope you are doing well and fully recovered.

    Robert
