  • Loved the concept and the score <3

  • he says ''it doesnt go on for ever'', reply, ''i dont care'', then ''im going to try this way''....I WANT TO WATCH THIS FOREVER.

  • i started smiling like an idiot when she was able to hear:)

  • Ohhh! I now realize why the wheelchair was there.

  • i have to start taking care of my eyes, oh shit!!

  • I didn't get it. Then I read comments. This was a beautiful film. I love futureshorts. Lx

  • Wow, I got misty eyed. What a beautiful film.

  • hace un rato me sentía aburrida y decidí vagar un poco por youtube sin pensar que encontraría este video con tanto significado que de verdad me hace sentir agradecida por lo que tengo. es increíble, así de simple como parezca.

  • :) that was awesome.

  • That's an astonishing parable, showing how little place the impaired have in this world where they would feel normal, and how fast one gets used to this state of normality...

    Great!

    Thanks.

  • Anyone want to know what happens with sara palin when she walks into the magic mile?

  • futureshorts makes the best videos ive ever seen...and this kinda scared me since im completely deaf in my right ear and my left is failing me...Please people, don't take what you have for granted... :)

  • Omg I love this vid

  • @ thejimsterjim: if you dont get it, it's obviously not for you

  • @roobadoob i get it i just want to know what the guys problem was

  • @JohnSheppard339 He can't walk... She's deaf... Inside those boundaries they can walk and hear. He walked outside of the area and seized movement.. He needed help to get back in the zone, I imagine he was panicking too... that's about it I think..

  • she just discovered ''sound''

  • all of future shorts videos are kinda weird, i dont understand, wat is the meaning to this vid?

  • @TheJimsterJim if you dont know then dont watch them (the consept of this video was "dont take what you have for granted")

  • J'aime... si ça pourrait être vrai dans la vie ! J'aimerais ça pour les gens qui ont un handicape..

  • Miraculous.

  • Wow this is one of tha coolest vids ive seen

  • Wow.. That was really cool!

  • @ sythax Touché.

  • WOW This video is ingenious!!!

  • nice!

  • This was really stunning, but I think there is a mistake.

How can a person understand and speak if they were deaf? Because people who are deaf don't know how to talk?

  • @Thekillaboi447

she had a hearing aid, and she was not completely deaf. lots of people who became deaf during their life (as in not born with it) learned how to speak, and communicate before they could not hear. just beacause you cannot hear dosnt mean you cannot speak.

  • Wow...

  • really nice

  • Wow. Stunning!

  • They both had troubles with walking and speaking nonetheless, YourGodIsDead alias

    VestriDeusEstMortuus.

  • could you tell me what`s the music sounds in this movie?

  • почему у нас такое не делают?

  • сделай. тем более ТАКОЕ- совсем не дорого. можешь представить, какой бюджет у этого фильма? всё на чистой силе воли держится

  • @filjka hah, no ideu o4en` slojno takuu pridumat` :S

  • What an amazing concept! fuck i love future shorts!

  • Imagination. It can take us anywhere and allow us to become anyone if we will only let it. Purely stunning. Definitely worth the film.

  • Has anyone else wondered, if they were born handicapped, or did they become handicapped??

Because how else could the man known how to walk, and the woman how to speak, and understand speech?

  • maybe common sense :P

i mean she could listen with the hearing aid and the guy been his whole life watching ppl walk by him

  • Awesome!

  • oh what a wonderful film! and fine music!

  • Просто и ГЛУБОКО!

    !!! :-0 ))))

  • волшебная история)

  • It's a mile long part of the beach where the one thing that you want to change about yourself, cones true. That's my interpretation.

  • Magic...

  • magic pleace.

    i need it too

  • It's amazing!

  • Makes me appreciate what I take for granted.

  • Dude, that's cruel... Terrible fate, that once you experience it, you will never be content with your (handicapped) life outside that beach ever again.

Yet if you never go to that beach, you will never be content with never experiencing life without your handicaps...

  • This would be the most crouded beach in the world, I wold go, i have platfus, i would like to experiment a full running capability. I'm sure the 2 guys in the video would not tell anyone, it woud be thier banging palce.

  • whoa. :D

  • foarte interesant.

  • J'adore... l'idée est belle.

  • It feels much more like a commentary on people's limits than on their abilities. This video, although excellent in film standards, assumes that deaf people are missing something. I'm not sure that's the case.

  • The are, it's called "hearing."

  • hahahahha

  • sol so so cool

  • this mile seems to me like the spring of life

  • I felt that it was a comment on the limited nature of our perception of the world, and how we should be content with what is possible to us, while exploring to its full extent. Anyone else see that?

  • Nic dodać, nic dodać...

  • Comment removed

  • This was beautiful.

  • Thats a really cruel twist of fate, really.

Only being able to here within a mile squared or so.

  • Very cool concept.I enjoyed this shot film a lot .Well done

  • wonder if there any place like that on this planet.

  • lol thats how i felt when i got my first pair of prescription glasses

  • yeh!! and if you had lyk constapation twould be gone!!!!!!! i have my jacket on already. HONEY!!!! WHERE'S MY KEYS!!

  • LOL

  • ...weak...

  • I really don't get it.

  • that guy was paralyzed. that was his wheelchair we saw in the beginning. he had found that "magic zone" before the woman and when he got to the end of it he became paralyzed again. she had to bring him back in so he could walk.

  • Looooooookoooooo!!!

    Craaaaaaazyyyyyyyyy!!!

    Aweeeesooooooom!!!

  • magic zone??? :)))

  • 5 stars

    awesome!

  • very cool. It makes me think about all the possibilities. If there was one square mile on the beach where your handicaps disappeared....would burn victims be whole again...would someone with a brain injury go back to being able to think again. This will keep me daydreaming for a long time. Thanks

  • the sound is great

  • very touching~

  • Love it.

    very touching

  • I think too interesting.

    And so excellent!

  • this was really cool.

  • what happens in the end?

  • SPOILERS

well, he can't walk. Hence him taking his shoe's off when he enters the "magic mile", because he wants to walk. He goes off towards the sea, but requests her aid, because when his leg's fail, he'll drown without her.

    END OF SPOILERS

  • well the guy wants to walk so he goes out to sea and asked the women for help incase his legs failed

  • Beautiful.

  • totaly awesomeful...one of my fav short films evah

  • it reminds me of the magic island from "Lost"

of course it is much more poetic.

  • there was something very samuel beckett about this very enjoyable short film.

  • Samuel Beckett :(...

I hated 'Waiting for Godot' :P. But this was good.

  • Senssacional. =D

  • great idea, so beautifule

  • very nice

  • I think about this mile, like some period in our life when all is good and successful against other times, when everything is downSo this one mile remind me this particular point of new abilities, when everything is possible, but for very calculated period (like these borders).

  • What a great short!!!

  • this was a really good vid... im glade I watched it... made me feel really sad nd happy for the 2 of them...

    LouShus..... PHB......

  • Wow, I really, really agree with everyone else, This Should Be A Movie !!!!

  • loved the first shot when she crosses the frame. it's a lovely movie but the name tells the secret too early. no?

  • Beautiful. Impossible to describe the brilliance of this.

  • genius - once again -

  • lovely!

  • i dont understand that why was that guy asking for help what had happend to him

  • he was the one who came to the beach in the wheelchair and he also figured out that this beach was special - then he like her found the limit to their momentary gift

  • He left the boundaries of the mile. He was paralysed, in a wheelchair.

  • knife soldier said:

The guy says "Doesn't go on forever." Which mean they are in a limited space. The woman responds "I don't care," which means she doesn't care if it's limited, she's happy and that's all that matters.

Then the guy tries to go a new direction, he says "I might need your help," because he fears he might lose his ability to walk again.

  • Brilliant stuff Mr Meakins!

  • just brilliant!

  • Such an amazing video, so beautifully done.

  • Muy lindo...

  • awesome idea

    i love FutureShorts!

  • haha, me too

  • Amazing and it makes perfect Sense This channel is great keep up the great work

  • WOW!!!

you should make a movie about this!!

  • Excellent story!

  • Another amazing short, I'm never disappointed with this channel. FutureShorts is great.

    Very cool idea. 5 star.

  • wait i don't get it. why was he like, "i might need your help!" and why was she like, I don't care

  • the guy cant walk but when hes in the "miracle mile" he can

  • The guy says "Doesn't go on forever." Which mean they are in a limited space. The woman responds "I don't care," which means she doesn't care if it's limited, she's happy and that's all that matters.

Then the guy tries to go a new direction, he says "I might need your help," because he fears he might lose his ability to walk again.

    :D

  • OOHHH i see. thanks

  • ohh is that what he said? couldnt tell, thanks!

  • Brilliant !

  • great

  • I am deaf. I watched the video and I think I understand what is happening. In that area the dear person can hear and the guy can walk. It would be great if someone could add subtitles to this. Video looks great though.

  • The conversations is minimal, you don't need to hear to understand this. Btw I got some nice subtitles on my videos.

  • that was really cool!!!!

but they could have developed it a bit more though!!!!

    Sooo cool!!!

    i really likeed the idea!!!!

  • Exellent!!

  • .... touching and very well thought

I knew when I saw the wheel chair that there was gonna be a guy who can't walk..

    GREAT work

  • amazing!!

  • futureshorts again! :D

  • Another good film from FutureShorts.

  • Brilliant

  • why

  • simple yet striking

  • The music is "not" from American Beauty. But that's ok :P

  • Amazing =)

  • pretty amazing, very well done.

  • Beautiful.

  • Is this heaven or is this hell?

    She says she doesn't care.

    But will she?

    Beautiful film.

  • Oddly Amazing. Poignant. It would make perfect sense that a person who has been entirely deaf for some time might not understand words, unless spoken slowly. I can't imagine what it might be like to hears words spoken for the 1st time and not know the sound. Hearing (or any sense) 'within limits' is a blessing in it's own way.

  • that was awesome!!!!

  • that was beautiful.

  • This channel is one of the best channels on YouTube, these people actually publish great videos! Keep up the good work!

  • i dont get it. What did the guy say? "..that took forever?"

How come see can speak good english? o_0 What's the "limit"? Whee are they going?

    . . .i'm lost.

  • well you have fingers and cant write.

im geussing "see" meant she... they learn to lip read and can hear it a little.

the limit is how far they can go before they go back to normal, marked by the post's.

they are going towards the water to see how far it goes before they go back to normal so they no how much space they have to do stuff in.

  • wow ive subriceb to him trust me its worth it hes made a bunch of good ones

  • That was very good 5/5

  • Great job... Congratulations to everyone....!!

  • very good!

  • good !!!!

  • Fantastic movie. You might consider changing the movie info which is a big spoiler. Fortunately I watched the vid before I read the info. Others might not be so lucky and would lose a little of the "magic".

  • grande ,bellisimo
