there is so many great things about life and nature. these songs sang by wiccans and pagans are lively and true. free spirited and beautiful beats and lyrics. the energy and kindness gave a positive feel to me.i have.pagans accepted me for who i was and what i chose and all christians did was force religion on others and were very negative about the choices others made and believed. i believe in what i want and it makes me feel bad that christians turned our sacred god into the devil :(
@NOHfeer17 dont feel bad. the christains are just misguided and blinded by their bible. We all get called home to the goddess even if its not in this life.:) blessed be and merry lughnasadh
@NOHfeer17 Yeah, Lucifer was a fallen angel; not some red skinned horned being, Hollywood made that popular but most importantly the christian faith took the term the BEAST and turn it evil. As Pagans and Earth based religiousists, we worship the beasts of the world and Christianity is all for loving God, being holy, and detesting their animal brothers and sisters. If we were created along with animals, they should be a part of our family.
@QinEnlaiLao212 So much happier than the dirges present in hymns eh? Music should make you feel uplifted, strong, or any number of other things, but it should not cause you to feel the "sinner's guilt"
Lughnasadh was my first ritual. My alter was a stool, all i had was a bit of bread and a internet ritual. I didn't know what a circle was XD. But 1 year on I have a lovely cofee table as an alter, candles, and i know what a circle is. :D
Lovely song :D I'm gonna save my pocket money for a CD :D
Lughnasadh has just passed for the southern hemisphere, 1st February (Imbolc for the northern hemisphere).
It's the time of 1st harvest, and marks the passage of summer into autumn. It's also the time that the god Lugh marks the funeral of his foster mother and passes into his own old age.
Lughnasadh is a Celtic holiday, in honour of the God Lugh. It is celebrated by wiccans, some druids and celtic polytheistic reconstructionists, nowadays.
It's a very joyous anthem at a time of the year when nature is coming into fruition. Unfortunately, as Damh rerminds us, "the year is waning" and summer will shortly turn to autumn. so (ironically) there is also an aspect of melancholy about it as we mark Lughnasadh, midpoint between Beltaine and Samhain.
@ASHLEYDEALUX I didn't say Wicca is fake, I AM Wiccan. I said a lot of people upload rituals that are "fluffy bunny" rituals without any understanding on how things work. I also said I hate the meaningless, hateful debates over Wicca, not Wicca itself, of course! And please, refrain from typing in full-capital.
You realise you just criticized this Wiccan song just cause you got angry because you misunderstood my message, even though you were preaching about being open, don't you?
Not really my kind of music, even in the topic of pagan music, still so special, fills with energy. I just totally love it! Thanks for the uploader, it was a long time ago when I last heard top-quaility pagan music :).
i love the green man reference <3

@fretburner18 "Dirges present in hymns" <-- Not sure what you mean there. But I agree. (:
QinEnlaiLao212 8 months ago
@QinEnlaiLao212 A dirge is a somber song expressing mourning or grief, such as would be appropriate for performance at a funeral.
fretburner18 8 months ago
@fretburner18 I know what a dirge is. But I meant that phrase as a whole.
QinEnlaiLao212 8 months ago
@QinEnlaiLao212 Oh haha. I guess Christian hymns strike me as being very dirge-like.
fretburner18 8 months ago
@fretburner18 Yeah. I was raised Christian. So I totally agree with you.

@kingfisher559 Well, I'll go to Sainsburys to do my weekly shopping, so I won't take anything with me to 'sustain me in the days ahead'
Srsly though, this is a nice enough song. I ain't a pagan/druid either. :L

"A crown of thorns above my head as the dark is rising".
The days remain warm, but the Wheel is turning towards autumn. Only change is eternal.
