Dolphins are extremely social animals. Having Dolphins that are well cared for is no different than having a dog as a pet. XLR8up I take exception to the statement of raping kids. Do you really think this helps anyone perceive you as a level headed person or with any substantive thought. I for one am appalled you would make such a statement. Ron Hardy on the other hand is well respected and loved in the community. We know who he is!
I've known Ron for over 30 years. he and Brad are totally dedicated to marine conservation and it's one the biggest reasons they bought Gulf World. He was the first to have a full-time vet. He devoted his staff to doing all they can to help educate people all over the world about how we interact with the ocean. Tens of thousands of people now care more about the ocean because they got to see and interact with these captive animals. If it takes a few captive animals to bring awareness so be it
I'm sure Ron & Brad are decent folks, but I wonder if given a choice the Dolphins really WANT to be imprisoned the rest of their lives entertaining crazed carnival masses like caged clowns?

I'm sure all of your trapped marine mammals, salvaged remnants from the Gulf's bygone era, are all very happy being forced to entertain dumb humans all day just to eat.

@xlr8up Actually in May we were boating next to Shell Island and there were a pod of at least 10 dolphins that were all getting really close to people and the boats, and I saw plenty of others out in the distance.
Well, there goes the silly argument for any Dolphin unlucky enough to be caged for the rest of his natural life within the "safe confines" of his pool prison.
I guarantee that pod of "wild" Dolphins you spotted are alot happier frolicking in the open ocean that those wretched Gulf World "Entertainers" are, trapped within the cramped confines of their watery human hellhole.
