Personally, My horse is young but seriously has adhd. xD She hates standing still and doing one thing or so long. Just like past comments, its just how some horses are. :)
@ThatPiaRene haha! im convinced if there is such thing as equine add, my mare has it! she gets distracted sooo easily but what a sweetheart...gotta love em!
Hi, I've been riding for about 7 or 8 months (1hr lesson on saturdays) and I finally have a video up of my riding, I was wondering if anyone would like to comment and tell me if I'm doing things wrong and how to fix them. It would be really helpful ^-^ Just check out the ONLY horse video on my channel, it's named 'Cantering' Thanks again!
A firm verbal command would suffice to keep him from grabbing at her and everything else, but that horse could be tied a little tighter and his halter should fit better....
You guys are funny!!!! you all have different opinions!!! and that is awsome.. It would depend if that mare is young i have a 5 year old Pinto and she loves playing and chewing on things, i let her if its her ball or something but every horse has to learn:)
slapping and hitting a horse is wrong. If you don't want a horse to bite you then focus on preventing the problem not retaliating after the fact. Prevention is the best trainer.
Did you know that with some horses no matter what you do to them they will always chew and nip at things, its just them!! And for gods sake you hardly need to comment saying how bad her horses manners are and what you would do about it, but of course I forgot everyones an expert in the horse world!! geeze...
She can hardly slap it on camera whilst shes talking, she probably did afterward, do you lot ever shut up having ago at expert village, ehow etc. everyone has there own way of doing things
wow that horse has horrible maners!!! and when i get a white horse ready for a show i always wash there tail with some shampoo so its as white as it can get !!
she was just letting this horse bite her, I am so strict with my horses on biting and manners. it's obvious this one has very little respect for his handler. not a good start in my opinion.
@lechill1978 you may be right, but the horse had to develop the habit somehow, and the example in this video suggests it's from a lack of discipline. Horses are big animals, and an arrogant or disrespectful one can be dangerous. Owners have to consider that they are responsible for their animal's behavior, and you're not always going to be the only one to handle them.
But I also think these habits are more readily developed in stabled horses. It's not natural for an animal to live in a box.
she isnt controlling the horse very well ......
