To be honest I am not sure...I had my sone at a bike shop. You can however subscribe to a virago list I am a member of and I guarantee someone will have the answer, they basically help keep the viragos on the road and running.
youtube will not let me post the url so google virago list and subscribe...
hey it's what people enjoy and the money you have to work with....i have a 93 1200 sportster which i enjoy but it will beat you to death on rough roads.....you have a nice bike
i use to be a Harley fan, but not all the Harley parts are American like some of there stuff come's from Mexico and China i use to work at a Harley place i made Harley harness that was the wiring on the bike and they were shit, more like assemble in America but made in China or Mexico
@harley fans...Harleys are nice bikes but I buy JAP because I get more BIKE for less cost AND a better ride. I rode a harley and the ride of a Virago is much nicer
Beauty!! I have the same Bike and love it!! Just put a new seat (mustang) and new pipes (Cobra slash cut pipes) on her. Love this bike and I think I will add some custom paint to it soon
Actually I did some barter work for a client that does paint...he needed e-commerce/computer work and since thats what I do for a living we traded services. I think if I had paid for it it would have been in the $1500.00 range. The flip/flop paint is more expensive so added to cost. Good luck and post pics when you upgrade. Ride Safe!
Great job! I like the additions you made. I just bought an 89 Virago with really low miles on it and was thinking of doing some upgrades like this . What was the ballpark cost for the pain job if you don't mind me asking?
@Nightwithe Nothing wrong with harleys but some of us don't need to ride a harley to feel better about ourselves ! Sorry dude, no harley envy here!!!!
Love Virago's. I have an '82 XV750 that's just too much fun not to ride. Beautiful bike there pard. Looks good and sounds like a V-Twin should. Congrats!!
It's back in winter storage right now (England's winter is very long and pretty miserable!). Hope to fit the seat and get it back on the road in two weeks or so, and will attempt to send a pic if I ever succeed in transferring it from my camera to your e-mail (me and computers don't get along too well).
Beautiful bike. Love the paint job. I've had my '96 XV1100 since new. Many trips through France, Spain and Portugal (I live in London, UK) and it still looks like new. Just bought a Mustang seat and having difficulty fitting in under the sissy pad. Did you have this problem?
No, the seat fit without any issues. What model seat did you get and are you sure they sent the correct one. It should fit like a glove, I would verify from the mfgr that they sent the right seat. Thanks and ride safe!
Yes. It's definitely the right seat, A "One Piece Studded Wide Touring", exactly like yours. The base plate is the same as the stock Virago one only metal, but that little bit of backrest which is part of the seat is just a little too high for my sissy bar pad. I might have to raise the pad ....or employ the assistance of a sledge hammer. I think the tolerances are maybe too loose and I was just unlucky, or maybe it's a European thing. Is that Highway Hawk handgrips you have? Very nice they are.

Awesome renovation - the paint job is excellent.
The seat looks way more comfortable than the stock seat, especially for the pillion.

@RiderVirago Thanks, my wife loves the mustang seat, waaay more comfortable that the stock. The paint job was a barter deal so the price was right!

how often do u get pulled over by cops coz of the blue led lights?
monstertrucker1 2 years ago
Only once! Don't ride with them on anymore...Crazy to think someone would mistake my bike with led's for a police bike!
