Nagasaki and Hiroshima losses ranged 140,000 and 200,000 respectively. Add that up and you get 340,000. If the war had gone on millions more would have been lost. 340,000 is minuscule when compared to 1,000,000 or more. The A-Bombings were also a good way to keep the soviets in check, namely Stalin.

It's wasn't all about America. I am American myself, so it's not like I'm being biased or anything. I'm not even Japanese, I'm Chinese. Do you know what horrendous things the Japanese did to the Chinese? They executed babies by throwing them up in the air and having them land on their Katanas. Whilst that upsets me greatly, I do not hold the Japanese PEOPLE for that. I hold the actual SOLDIERS that committed those crimes guilty. Apparently I do know some things. Care for more?

Is that all you care about? The Normandy Invasion? You need to learn that it's not all about you; It's not all about America. If you are having a hard time getting my point, my point is that there is no reason to kill innocent people, especially hundreds of thousands of them for that matter. Us dropping those Nuclear Bombs makes us no different from The Nazi's in the Halocaust. Sure we didn't want to extinguish a certain kind of people, but we sure did a good impression of it. Not proud.

no, the conversation was the dropping of the atomic bomb. You called them innocent and that you could not live with the knowledge we supposedly killed over 200,000 innocents.
Go back and read what you wrote. Then answer my question of how many would have died if we invaded (instead of dropping the bomb).

I suppose you would have rather invaded Japan. The estimates of Americans lost is about 1 million men. The Japs? Probable most of them, considering the fanatical way they fought on the islands we did invade. The Atomic bombs we dropped saved millions of lives. Better get over your sorrow of our dropping the bomb, cause you sound silly crying.

Every country lost hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of men. I do not know what crying you speak of, but you sound ignorant for your reasoning. The point I'm trying to make, which you have not yet grasped, is that it is not right to KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE. I'd care less if we dropped it on Nazi troopers who fought to kill us. But when it's people that don't want to fight anyone anymore than we do, than that is not right. Maybe you should go to war and see how it really is to kill a man.

@hopeurfree I read it three times before I submitted it 'nitwit'. Yes, I, as well as probably everyone knew that dropping the Nukes had to be done, but it is not right to hold the Japanese People today against for what happened long ago. That is not doing them justice, and just shows your ignorance. Have you not have any humanity in you?

@hopeurfree I precisely said they were innocent, where are you trying to twist this I do not understand. Though you did not hold the Japanese responsible, you still feel its okay to do that? That is where you are wrong. It is not okay to kill, even worse someone that has done nothing to you. Yes, dropping the Bomb was our last resort, but how you can just be so humanless to say basically 'they had it coming', even for those that didn't want to fight more than we did. Thats where youre wrong.

I don't think you understand. In an invasion, do you think the Japanese population would step aside and be neutral? Hell no they wouldn't, they would fight. The Japanese population was not innocent at all. They supported their emperor and they supported that war. Hell yes I support the dropping of the bombs to end that war. Civilians die in every war. Why would I want our soldiers to die in an invasion just so the Japanese so-called innocents would not die by the A-bomb?

I said that I do not hold todays Japs responsible for the war. The Japs of WWII, hell yes they did something to me. My dad had to fight in that war. Do you think he or my Grandparents liked sending him to war at age 16, right out of high school? He served on the USS Boston and did have the honor of shelling the Jap island of Honshu with a 14" gun. We fought this war to win, it was life or death, it was not the type of war liberals like to fight, civilians died, a fact of war.

@hopeurfree It's sad. One can only imagine what a better world we live in today if Hitler prevailed in the struggle with Communism and Zionism. But it was not to be, the vicious Jew scientists built the atomic bombs to be use on the innocent people of Germany but they did not get it built on time so they were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki instead. Some of them even thought the entire world would be destroyed by the use of the device, but used it anyway

@LexTertia If they wanted to surrender, they could have at any time. They refused until AFTER the second bomb. They refused to surrender after the POTSDAM DECLARATION, sealing their fate. Nothing criminal except Japans failure to surrender. Those bombs are the result of Hirohito's bad decisions.
