When i first played ME2 i had one of the most immersive and epic experiences for a video game ive ever had in my entire life
My ending was just really great to me
When it took me 3 trys to get every one to live on my first playthrough of paragon

@nihlusvakarian Partially true. All squad members survive if loyal (under the right conditions during the suicide mission), but after the Collector ship attacks the Normandy, doing a mission after that ends up killing Kelly Chambers in the collector base! No hot chicks left behind.

@SavageFitz07 it's because you took too long going though the Omega 4 Relay, so they all died. If you went through it soon after your crew were "collected" you would have been able to save them.

You know, seeing how the Illusive is supposedly indoctrinated by the Reaper tech, I had a theory that the Collectors were actually fighting the Reapers, and that the Illusive man had been ordered to kill them. Maybe the Collectors had been kidnapping humans to find out how to kill Sovereign and build their own human Reaper. Maybe they sacrificed their souls to cybernetics like Mordin said in order to survive.
I mean, then Deception shot that theory to shit, but still.
The last scene featuring Shepard taking a look into the infinite space, from a Normandy's window... and from the other side of the world, the gargantuan Reaper invasion finally making it's appearance approaching the Galaxy, is probably the most epic and malevolent 12 seconds i've ever seen or imagined. To my humble opinion Mass Effect has the best fantasy story of the last decade. It actually ties the original Star Wars universe. Wonder what the upcoming Mass Effect movie will be like.
Can anyone help me, I'm getting close to the end of this game and I accidentally got some renegade points but my paragon bar is full, will this affect my ending?

i always have miranda and garrus for this i just like mirandas ass and garrus has been with me since the first game and when miranda died i was like nooooooooooooooo you were the hottest one why!!!!!!!!!!!
I've only played through once (and memorably so) and Garrus was also my main man. But for this last mission, as much as I wanted him by my side, I felt that his place was at the head of the second team. I knew he could get the job done; that he had great leadership skills in his own right, eventhough overshadowed by Shepard's; and that the crew would have no problem following him.
When assigning him this task, I said to myself: "Garrus, this is your time to shine."
So im new to the whole mass effect series (I know im late as hell lol) But if Shepard dies in the end of Mass Effect 2 doesn't that mean you will play as someone else in Mass Effect 3?
@dmosley229 BioWare said that it will be impossible to import a playthrough where Shepard has died in the Suicide Mission. So no, if we are lucky BioWare may give a cutscene showing a funeral followed by everyone dying?
Also I strongly advise you to play Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. Great games =)
To all you moaning about characters dieing even though you had loyalty....... It's because they had to be set to what they did best you can't just stick characters to any objective in the suicide mission. That's what you did wrong. that's why they died. 'reloads game'
WOW I couldn't play with a Shepard that looks like that what a loser. Hard to take him serious with that quarterback haircut. The default shepard is by far the best match to his voice. Why fix something that isn't broke.
OMG I can't wait for Shepard's speech while the Reapers are destroying earth and your combined armies of Geth, Quarians, Salarians, Turians, Asari, and Krogans are about to ride the Mass Relay with the Normandy in the lead. The entire 40k strong quarian fleet, combined council forces, Krogans ready to make a ground assault, the Geth fleet, Turian cruisers, Asari commandos, Salarian STG, maybe even a biotic Volus... Someone is going to have to collect the pieces after the epicness blows my mind.

One of my favorite things about Mass Effect 2 is that it had me saying "Oh Shit!" at the start, and saying "Oh Shit!" at the very end. I was so engrossed the entire time, from start to end, that it kept me on the edge of my seat... That's all you can really ask, from any work. Mass Effect will go down in history.
@Bronx1875 I think that Harbinger is actually one of the reapers controlling the Collector general, similar to how the collector general controls the collector drones. This my outlook, no idea if it the actual mass effect cannon.
@Bronx1875 The reapers enslaved the protheans. Over time, they indoctrinated them and outfitted them with implants that controlled them and increased their fighting strength. Now the collectors are all that's left of the protheans. You can also talk to Mordin about this
Normally in a game when characters you like die it is sad yet we press on. Not in Mass Effect, in Mass Effect when they die, it is hear breaking because this time we know we are moving on without them and will miss them throughout the entire sequel. It blows in other words.

Unbelievable that this game came out TWO years ago. This kind of thrilling storytelling has yet to be surpassed by any others. Except of course, until exactly 31 days from now.
@smpowis While I did like it's story (albeit full of redundant dialogue), I didn't like its method of story telling. Constantly throwing cutscenes longer than a TV episode at me isn't very good story telling, and Final Fantasy suffers from this as well. IMHO, I'm not denying it was good, I just wouldn't call it amazing. BTW, what does MGS3 have to do with Mass Effect?
@othyization Apparently, Cerberus is an enemy in the next game, working for or alongside the Reapers, so...it's gonna be tough to say what the Illusive Man's true motives behind that are. Only thing we can do is wait for the game, then play the hell out of it.
All my crew were loyal to me going into the final battle except for Miranda after I sided with Jack. To avoid Miranda dying the best way I did it was to NOT assign her to any major roles, I had Kasumi go through the vent, Jacob led the first team and I brought Miranda and Tali with me. Samara did the shield with Miranda and Tali with me and Garrus in charge of the 2nd team. Sent Mordin back with the crew. Final part left Miranda at the door with the heavy hitters. All my crew survived this way.
The fastest person I know can barely walk...my doctor will barely live to forty years of age...we are tortured orphans...we have lost our friends and family...we are imperfect beings...and Harbinger, we are going to become your salvation
@MrMcBez Imagine the ending fight; the suicide mission to destroy the reapers. Imagine this fight... only hundreds of times greater. A war involving salarians and their tech, Krogan's tearing troops apart. The Geth and Rachni might even be involved. Joker commandeering aerial fleets and Garrus 'holding the line'. And you will be leading all of it.
I can't possibly imagine mass effect 3 receiving less than a GOTY nominee. 1 was great, 2 was ground-breaking design, 3 might be gaming perfection.
@MetaRothSephKnight if it even improves on ME2 just a little bit it will be borderline gaming perfection. Im most worried about the ending, we all want it to be just as good as ME2. if it lives up to the hype i honestly expect it to win GOTY. i mean IGN awarded ME2 as the best game of this console generation so it only makes sense.

I made a mistake during half way through this mission that made Garrus died, and Garrus is my favorite character so I restarted the level. Then I came out with 5 people left. Just so happened that I wanted those exact people the ones to live. Garrus, Mordin (annoying but awesome), Joker, Miranda(perfect ass), and Jacob! HAZAHH
i dont understand why people think its so hard to keep everyone alive ive played ME2 like 17 times and only once have i ever lost a person it was jack because of that fight her and miranda have its not that hard everyone lived one my first try damn you no what im gona go play ME2 again whoo!
i just beat the game and i wanted the no one left behind trophy, but jack died because i couldnt side with both of them when jack and miranda fought, but i noticed how there was only one coffin and they said we would all die.... they were really wrong. i didnt even like jack anyway. it was only shut up this and you don't feel my pain that. i then talked to all the crew and laughed about how jack died. i was happy with the ending so whenever i just look in the engine room..... i just laugh.

Unbelievable that this game came out TWO years ago. This kind of thrilling storytelling has yet to be surpassed by any others. Except of course, until exactly 31 days from now.

@smpowis While I did like it's story (albeit full of redundant dialogue), I didn't like its method of story telling. Constantly throwing cutscenes longer than a TV episode at me isn't very good story telling, and Final Fantasy suffers from this as well. IMHO, I'm not denying it was good, I just wouldn't call it amazing. BTW, what does MGS3 have to do with Mass Effect?

@othyization Apparently, Cerberus is an enemy in the next game, working for or alongside the Reapers, so...it's gonna be tough to say what the Illusive Man's true motives behind that are. Only thing we can do is wait for the game, then play the hell out of it.

All my crew were loyal to me going into the final battle except for Miranda after I sided with Jack. To avoid Miranda dying the best way I did it was to NOT assign her to any major roles, I had Kasumi go through the vent, Jacob led the first team and I brought Miranda and Tali with me. Samara did the shield with Miranda and Tali with me and Garrus in charge of the 2nd team. Sent Mordin back with the crew. Final part left Miranda at the door with the heavy hitters. All my crew survived this way.

@MrMcBez Imagine the ending fight; the suicide mission to destroy the reapers. Imagine this fight... only hundreds of times greater. A war involving salarians and their tech, Krogan's tearing troops apart. The Geth and Rachni might even be involved. Joker commandeering aerial fleets and Garrus 'holding the line'. And you will be leading all of it.
I can't possibly imagine mass effect 3 receiving less than a GOTY nominee. 1 was great, 2 was ground-breaking design, 3 might be gaming perfection.

Im most worried about the ending, we all want it to be just as good as ME2. if it lives up to the hype i honestly expect it to win GOTY. i mean IGN awarded ME2 as the best game of this console generation so it only makes sense.

@pbollekes Ya when i did my first playthrough of Paragon and tryed to make sure every one lived I saw garrus hold his abdomen and i was like "O come the fuck on got dammit" Raging hard then he nods i was like "thank god" Still is pretty awesome to have every one life feel's like you made the right decesions and accomplished something hard to get if you dont pay attention :)

I made a mistake during half way through this mission that made Garrus died, and Garrus is my favorite character so I restarted the level. Then I came out with 5 people left. Just so happened that I wanted those exact people the ones to live. Garrus, Mordin (annoying but awesome), Joker, Miranda(perfect ass), and Jacob! HAZAHH

i just beat the game and i wanted the no one left behind trophy, but jack died because i couldnt side with both of them when jack and miranda fought, but i noticed how there was only one coffin and they said we would all die.... they were really wrong. i didnt even like jack anyway. it was only shut up this and you don't feel my pain that. i then talked to all the crew and laughed about how jack died. i was happy with the ending so whenever i just look in the engine room..... i just laugh.
