Truth and Blues... Life and Reasoning. How can you falter the truth in this music? The answer is you cannot. Accidental squeakage and Plato's plateau all swept aside....
and they weren't kids any longer but they'll go to their graves younger than most and that's a great keyboard bit by Chick who actually stole alot of the thunder in TYA's 'Undead' in 'Going Home' live in that small(assumed) club in London and if that wasn't the wickedest guitar solo what is?
I don't care what you say. The drummer is ruining the solo by bashing the cymbals like he's really jamming. Noise. Not tasty at all. Not bluesy at all. More like hard rock. I agree it's a blues based solo. But typical of guitar slinging blues playing wanna be's
I got to say A.L. is with the best of em. But, I agree with alex lifeson of rush....so many the great performances of the seventies were lost by inept camera men / directors who would invariably show a congo drummer, the spastic bass player, the pick hand (exclusively) anything but how a great guitarist is fingering this masterpiece- like some trade secret we can't show. thank God for Alex Lifeson who respects the up and comers those trying to craft- and is not afraid to show how it is done.
a cup of coffee roll a fatty kick back an start the day out right hope to some day have them play just for me hell you all can come party with a old man an listen to some great jam's Alvin has always been one of the most under rated guitar players out there but not in my world he is the best
Alvin lee was 17 years old when he" blew away all" "man this kid is way better than i at his age" at Woodstock with ten years. these are direct quotes from both Carlos Santana and Pete Townsend. Lee is one of the finest guitarist ever and English, nuff said.
good blues guitar, but like most wanna be blues bands the drummer is a rock drummer and after awhile it just turns to noise. too much cymbal bashing all over the solo. not tasty at all. sorry.
This is the proof that music does not care about colour, race, cultural background otr whatsoever if one is open minded and does not limit him-/herself
@Mischtchratzer Exactly. Three greatest guitarists ever = Alvin Lee, Carlos Santana and the Master Himself, Jimi Hendrix. White, brown and black, and yet...who cares?
Alvin Lee: great songwriter and very good and cool guitar player and singer. Alvin/Ten Years After never got the recognition they deserve. My favorite LP: A Space in Time.
Great version of this song. Of course his playing is spectacular, but his singing does it for me more than anything else.

Sorry guys I'm new but what is the progression for this song? is it C F G? How would I go about playing this so that my friend can solo over it?
thedonace213 2 years ago
@thedonace213 Play it like a 12 bar blues over those chords?
Murreh 2 years ago
You should use the I, IV and V of the scale.. obviously the mayor scale of C.. so it would go like you said C, F, G..
