  • Charice is so good in her accent and nothing wrong in her grammar as well. she is amazing in everything!

  • I really love charice from the day she got started guesting in America, and now charice is just like waving our flag as a Filipino whenever and wherever she performs..Those people who called themselves a Filipino but hated charice you have to be ashamed of yourself because you don't feel proud of her.GO CHARICE don't mind other people say to you you are so talented and I love you.

  • she is not totally mainstream yet in u.s. she will get there soon. but i will tell you this the celebrities in the u.s know who she is and all bow to this insanely talented girl. she has only been on the scene a few years after a few more glee appearances and watching her blow mckinley high away she will be mainstream bigtime.

  • OMG! I LOVE HODA NOW.. SHE'S A CERTIFIED CHASTER! HORAY HODAHHHHH!

  • For me, she is known here in the US. I would hear kids and even young adults singing some of her songs, what about that? =) They will grow up with Charice, for sure! =) About her accent? I think her American accent is better than mine, LOL...

  • i love you chariceeeeeeeee!!!

  • Oh dang. Charice's conversational English is perfect now. What happened? But I'm not surprised at all- Charice works hard in everything that she does. It was only a matter of time. I had faith in her all this time.

  • em not a fan but she's really great! really great! proud of her!

  • @mjstimemachine um, but those sentiments u uttered constitutes a fan's sentiments, so in essence, you are eligible to be a fan. can i entice you to be a fan? it costs no money.wanna be a fan? like i said, it's free. lol

  • @pinaybug well actually I followed her on twitter?! haha..and if that's the case...count me in! LOL!

  • @mjstimemachine alright! jackpot. another Charice fan over here! that's so great. welcome, Chaster.

    and i swear i'm not on commission. ; )

  • Pacman is more well known than MOST of US celebs world wide, Charice is on her way.

  • Wow Charice, you're really making a lot of people insecure with your insane talent and being a "household name". Keep it up girl. Your efforts are paying off.

  • @flipmaya

Oh really? And who are your "A" list celebrities? Didn't know celebrities are categorized in the USA (as your Country = USA in your profile). If the Red Dress gala event is not proof that Charice is becoming a household name here in the USA wherein the audience was 99% Caucasian, then you must be hater and an insecure crab.

If ur referring 2d Philippines, then the more false are ur statements as she is a de facto household name over there even in crabs' shells & haters' homes. #LOL

  • @SaTrinomaNagkita I did not came up with the "Ulmer Scale" (yes, it's an actual scale, go google it) but "A-list celebrities" are people like Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Where did you get that racial breakdown of the USA from? And even if 99% of USA audience IS caucasian, so? Do caucasians have this magic ability that if they know a celebrity then they're automatically an A list star?

Contrary to your beliefs, Charice is not as popular in the US as most Filipinos think. Give it a few years

  • yeah I feel for ya @flipmaya Charice is definitely not a household name in USA but it is funny how her countrymen are delusional about it... "now a household name??" WTF? not exactly, but she might be on her way, I'd love to see it happen. This is not even an "A-list" event to be invited to... it only cost $100/plate to get in. But it is the kind of event that's slowly but surely getting Charice noticed. Just keep up the hard work and she'll make it.

  • @flipmaya Oh, are you comparing actors versus singers like apples and oranges? If you are, actors are normally and most of the time more popular with very few exceptions.

Your post to where I replied was vague. Besides, I did not said a word in your 2nd par. What I meant there was the audience in Charice's 2 videos for the gala event are such that if you impress them, you get maximum exposure, i.e., they are not your guys off the street. And based on the videos, impressed is an understatement.

  • @flipmaya

I qualified my statement with the word "becoming" so your 3rd & last par. is utterly false. But you are right, give it a few years, like Manny Pacquiao, Charice will be a household name. After all, how many years was Manny became known as today? He was a champion in the lower weight classes in the initial years YET he was not known early in his US boxing career. He became popular on only after several championship belts.

But Charice is popular in the Philippines as well as Japan.

  • @flipmaya I just googled it. It's just for actors, mostly.

  • @SaTrinomaNagkita The Ulmer scale goes deeper than that, you would have to buy to book. While the list is prominently actors, the characteristics and differences between A list and D list are pretty much the same for all celebs. You should look at the associated content article published in 2007.

about the caucasian part, I have a vague idea on what you are trying to say so I would just ignore in case i misinterpret it.

Let's just settle with Charice is not as popular as Filipinos think.

  • @flipmaya I don't know about the book part you're suggesting (but I browsed their main website) as liking a celebrity (actor, boxer, vocalist, etc.) is a matter of preference not dictated or swayed by anybody.

Agreed; she's not yet that well-known here in the US; she's been here for only 3 years. Manny Pacquiao went through the same process.

But she's the most well-known Asian vocalist today. Her talents are so awesome that it's difficult to ignore; hopefully, it'll be before she hit her 20's.

  • @flipmaya Frankly, I wouldn't rely on that so-called list.

Manny Pacquiao is not on that list but he's AAA-list on my list. I would based in on the net-worth of the person.

  • where is david foster?

  • Not bad, for someone who was told by the philippine "judges" that she wouldn't be more than a back up singer. So to all those haters in her country, let me ask you guys something. HOW DAT CROW TASTE NOW BEE-YATCHES!"

  • her english is getting so good!!

  • Charice you are a star!! quote from Natalie co-anchor of todays show after charice sang my grown up christmas list at rockyfeller!!!

  • I didn't know she had another little brother.

  • i don't want to sound like i haven't moved on , but , isn't this a proof that charice is not " feeling hollywood" as mr. ogie diaz and haters accused her of. She is a certified hollywood star , rubbing elbows with the likes of Hoda Kotb of Today show , the legendary Barbara Walters of The View , Mario Lopez of Extra , Guilliana Rancic of E News ... and of course Oprah herself! 'top that?

  • what! TFC copy master lantao's video! hahahaha...THE charice videographer.

    up for lantao.

  • SHE IS A STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes! she is really a good singer in the whole wolrd!no one can always sing live and always perfect, ggrammy should take a look on that matter ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lets wait for her on FAAN.. she will grace the event

  • She's a star period always has been, now, always will be. no ifs, buts, like this or that, nothing, she is a Star! nobody can ever take that away from her. not even poorly written news scripts :)

  • @ronparel yup- you said it! she's a star. and i LOVE LOVE LOVE her red dress here. amazing performance too. she wants people to take care of their heart. ahhh....sweet.

  • What was that? She had a brother who died years ago?? Can anybody confirm that?

  • @dennisfernandez75 dennis that was a newborn, about a week old when Charice was 2 or so. Maybe someone else more knowledgeable on this can comment.

  • @dennisfernandez75 yes ,,, fifteen years ago .

  • why do people always comment on charice's accent and fluency in english? she speaks just fine then and now. filipinos and people from other countries have accents, even americans have accents depending on what part of the country they come from. enough of this foolishness. do some people think that charice is somehow inferior because of her accent? i wish filipinos would drop this mental set. madonna tries to have a british accent and she sounds just as foolish.

  • hoda kotb and other celebrities like charice...luv it..d best talaga charice

  • Charice has acquired her American accent gradually over the years she's been living in and out of America. It is not fake as some of her homeland detractors say. It is NATURAL.

  • wow Charice.. Excellent respond!

  • wow.. this is the first time i heard charice speak english so fluently...

  • Junkim1986 maybe he meant the true star above

  • HODA is a certified chaster.! She praises Charice in her NBC Today Show whenever she can. And she´s right, Charice is one of a kind. YES!!!!

  • what did the narrator mean when he said, charice sparkled like a true star? isnt she a true star already???

  • Nice One Charice!!!!

  • wow she's with big celebrities thats amazing

  • "...who is better than Charice?! when she sang on Oprah that time, I have to tell you; I STOOD UP ON MY COUCH APPLAUDED ALONE, in my living room, because i thought SHE SANG LIKE AN ANGEL!!!" --- HODA KOTB, Co-Anchor of NBC's "Today" Show and a CERTIFIED CHASTER

  • I can only agree with H Kotb starting at 1:06!
