Community folks from this region (& when i say this region i include more than 30 country in it) always admire when a Hot Shot from a European Country or North America come to speak in events &they always ask for that..

my point in the question, is very similar to what your commented, we do have LOTS OF GOOD/SAME QUALITY Community People in our region. so the WOW effect from getting a foreign speaker should change to having a Good / Great Speaker weither he's local or not!

To answer your last question, people in th region are lazy, doesn't believe in community work ;)

however, if you look at the Saudi for example, there are alot of offline community events, but I think we need to be more active on web.
