im from rains county. i knew ALL the people involved....it baffles me that terry remarried 4 months later to a woman that was in the church he attendef with kids that looked like his an the same age...believe what you wish.....but only a portion of this town has our theories on mr.caffey....he's a millionaire now and called all the people in our town corrupt

This guy is not being honest with himself about all the facts.

There was massive, undeniable evidence that HIS DAUGHTER was the mastermind of the murders and was actually planning the murders LONG BEFORE she met the boy who actually committed them. He was the SECOND boy she asked to help her murder her family. He didn't corrupt her---SHE corrupted HIM.

This man's daughter is a PSYCHOPATH and he is in denial about it. He cannot help anyone as long as he is in denial of the truth.

This is an inspirational story! He is willing forgive! I don't know whether or not he believes Erin was the mastering behind this or not but he is willing to forgive! I do believe on the other hand that Erin and her friends will have to answer to God! Treat other people right because what you do to other people will come around on you! God Bless!

I agree with you that we shouldn't let them back out to repeat their crimes though. Some people are successfully rehabilitated and safe to let back out, but that's another matter. It costs a lot to keep these people housed, yes. It's a necessary evil. It actually costs more to execute them.

How a girl that young can found by the police curled up in a corner in fetal position and properly exposed to unbelievable things a day later and still be named as the master mind of a crime committed by grown adult is beyond my imagination.

I guess that she had no other option but to accept the plea because she couldn't afford a lawyer which could have gotten her off. It is a rotten justice system.

They 3 others were the adults and should have the brain capacity to call a counselor if she might have expressed thoughts about killing her family. Something is very wrong with this case and I bet the father knew that he was out of options when he let her make the deal. The truth will come out

The father did not "let" any deal occur. He argued for leniency. I doubt that was why the dumb kid received life over the death penalty. The State saves court costs with such pleas and I wish her a nice time in prison.

@TakjamRosen I understand the father's need to believe that his child was somehow manipulated. He's her dad--it's probably the only way he can sleep at night. I even understand why he forgave her. But lets look at the facts. This was plotted for over a month--this wasn't some moment of passion. At any time she could've backed out and changed her mind and she didn't. When the police found her she tried to play like she'd escaped the fire--she even lied about being raped.

I just finished reading Terror By Night and I'm so sorry Terry for what happened to your family... your wife and boys .. and Erin. There's no doubt in my mind that the page from the book was indeed your message from God. There are no coincidences in life... that page was there for you because God knew that you needed to read it. I guess it's nice that he's happier now after such a terrible tragedy, but I think the page was merely coincidence rather than a "message from God". It's an interesting coincidence indeed. But I think he is wrong for thinking these deranged lunatics were basically possessed when they committed such brutal acts of murder against his family. I also doubt Erin feels any remorse for her actions, only that she got caught. Also, I find it odd that he remarried in less than 2 years after the tragedy...
