Hey Swordfish, thanks for that comment. To me, the Reeve films end here, and so the comic book worked, and even made me a bit misty when I saw it for the first time. I'm so glad you like the effect it brings.
The only reason I put fades in the bar scene were for the purpose of getting to the end more quickly, here on youtube, so that folks could see the comic book part. In the Verisimilitude Cut, the scene plays out just like normal.
That's correct. Right now, it's finished as a 4:3, 2.0 presentation WITHOUT the new opening credits. By Summer, I'm hoping to have the new version completed, which is 16x9, 5.1, WITH the new opening credits, and a streamlined, re-scored Paris sequence, designed to play with much less humor and more suspense.
Hi musicluvr. I have a stereo 4:3 version of the movie, already. I'm currently working on an anamorphic 5.1 version with a completely new opening credits sequence and a completely redone Paris sequence. The Paris stuff is here on youtube, but the opening credits were removed for copyright reasons. Send me a private message to discuss what you would like to do, and I'll do what I can to accomodate you.
I used Ulead Video Studio for the whole project, Darth. Their coloring effects and filtering options were outstanding and allowed me to match Donner, deleted scenes, and Lester seamlessly.
That closing of the comic book moment is PHENOMENAL - It brings tears to my eyes - like this is the complete story - it ends here. supes one and two. Bravo!!
Thanks so much, my friend. It put a lump in my throat, the first time I saw the finished product, and I'm delighted to hear from so many wonderful folks like you!
Is the scene of Suérman, carring the USA flag to White house, on the Donner special cut DVD? If he restored the thing backing time, like in Superman I, he would not need to get a new flag.
Hey Jerry, the flag scene is not in the Donner Cut, because as you observed, Supes turns back time in that cut. In my cut, I used the memory kiss, so the flag return of course makes sense. I hope you enjoyed the clip.
The flag sounds too patriotic, remambering it was right after Vietnan War end. Superman should feel shame of all human barbarian acts, despite of the country he was created. :-) In SupermanIV, despite of a bad film, he had courager to speak: "And I also saw the madness of your wars"
Thanks very much, gf. Hey Marlon, I know you're probably joking around, but the white house shot is from Omen III, of all things, with the flagpole matted out.
Fuck off with your CGI villans bullshit!!! Its doing my head in. Every clip of superman 2 recuts ive seen youve left some pathetic comment asking for CGI villans. Let it go you obsessive wierdo!
cool finish !

Hate to break it to ya but the flag scene is Lesters.

I think pretty much every fan knows that. What's your point?
onekingprods 4 years ago
Well, the point is you credit Donner and Williams in your description. Not exactly fair when you use Lester's stuff.

did you used the CGI to create the fountains moving? If you did then you must also use the help to make the villains around the world scene!
