  • Those who do not like John Denver do not know music

  • just his guitar and his tremendous voice! I miss you!

  • I know how everyone has their favorites but this is mine. John may be gone but when I hear this it just seems like he never left.

  • Amazing. Very powerful.

  • He had such a wonderful voice! I'll always be transported back to my childhood when the muppets Christmas with John Denver plays!

  • what year was that?

  • @mazzacb Sorry! That is a question that I ask myself.

  • Now that's some talent. Just awesome.

  • @workinprogress82 Always a pleasure. I really do appreciarte your kind comments.

These shows were never seen in my country so I am unable to date them, but from his appearance I would suggest that this clip dates from the mid1980s, and around the time he first went to China. Perhaps another fan will be able to provide a date for us.

    Thanks again.

  • @randomprecision7 Thank you for your comment. You aere always welcome.

  • I miss this man so much

  • Poetry -- well thought out and music accompaning (it can only be played on a twelve string) - in simple sweet combination. I have a lover far away and we cherish this desire and frustration of how we have been made separate. The moon and the stars are the same ones you see ..... Lovely.

  • belgium loves john denver, one of my favorites... thanx man!!!

    greetz

  • @MultiYoeri Thank you too.

  • thanks so much for posting this. JD will always be one of my faves. What a great song writer and singer. Amamzing with only an acoustic guitar! BTW when was this on the Tonight Show?

  • @dinakay1 Thank you for your kind comment. Sorry, I have no date for this performance.

  • Simply Superb!

  • I really enjoy this song. It's so simple and so beautiful.

  • So natural - just JD and a guitar, Brilliant.

  • OMG He is just sitting there in a chair. No props no lights, sets, or smoke.

Just Jonny and Ed. So natural. Fantastic Performance.

  • For YOU, Kathryn!

  • For you Gracey!

  • This was John's last top 40 hit. It topped out at #38 on the pop charts. It's obvious that Johnny always thought of John as a special talent. (Notice Johnny watching JD singing at about the 2 minute mark.)

  • I grew up on the late John Denver's music. It seemed he always outdid himself with each new song on the radio.

  • Well, if God does exist, he/she has some damn good entertainment up there. Carson for laughs, and John Denver, one of the most natural and beautiful singing voices to ever exist. God Bless them both, and R.I.P.......

  • I love this song. I wonder if the glasses were the style then. . I remember that Dolly Parton usually performed on the chair.

  • Johnny C and John D performing on the chair rather than on stage. Rare!!

  • Michelle,

It's my pleasure. I am delighted you enjoyed it. Thank you for all your encouragement and friendship.

    Michael.

  • Oh Man, I am going to have to add this one to my favorites. Great clip! Thanks for posting.

    Michelle
