Wow man, precision. I thought the E39 wasn't an option after my E34, but Goddamn.. I'm going to have to reconsider. Would you consider this equal in terms of precision handling? (Yes, with minor to mid-level mods included.)
I like the way that e39s drive better than e34s. I have owned 3 e39s now and they are one of my favorite older BMWs.
Its not as precise as my e30, but is one hell of a performer in highspeed twistys. A big car can also have big grip because of the 265s on 4 wheels and the track width is very helpful.
@ivdogz Thanks for the insight. It was great to watch this video again as well. Specifically, which differences do you enjoy the most? I'll actually be purchasing an E38 740i Sport in the next few months, just because it's in the family and I know where it's been. I'll buy another 5 as well, but I'm not financially ready just yet. The E38 is a big car, but the (real) sport model is actually quite nimble for it's size/weight, but I still don't think I'll be taking it to the track. Best regards-
@charlesaferg The E38 is a big car but they are really good fun to drive. Your right may not be the best choice to take to the track, but some autoX sure would be fun in that boat!
FWIW the e38 uses the same basic suspension design as an e39. Thus many of the parts or bushings are actually the same.
As far as e34s vs. e39s, there are significant rear subframe+suspension differences between the two. e34s use a much outdated trailing arm setup, verses a multi link in the e39.
you have there some nice peace of german engineering and u know how to drive it...
but i wanna know if all is standard on this car because i don´t for what stu stands
