Man I mean no disrespect when I say this, But Patti LaBelle's tribute to Aretha was splendid. The two of them are actually very good friends and have a great respect for each other's talents. In Aretha's autobiography she calls Patti LaBelle the ultimate diva and Patti refers to Aretha as her hero, just as she stated when she paid tribute to Aretha during the Kennedy Center honor, dont knock Miss LaBelle, she is a wonderful and greatly respceted person.Just like The Queen of Soul.

@vwsmusic Thank you for bringing that out. Stevie Wonder is among my favorites, and he received the honor 5 years later in 1999. Those two have great respect for each other. Perhaps, I should have said Aretha is the youngest female recipient ever to receive the Kennedy Center Honor. Now, we pray that she overcomes whatever ails her and be with us for several years more to come.
