I'm extremely tired from having KoRyuOh do everything so on my third playthrough I'm preemptively training Bullet as a support Seishin machine, and Kusuha into an Infighting badass. I hope the Inspectors appreciate it.
You should play the alpha series. It starts out even with both mechs in Alpha 1 and it stays that way in 2 (though Ryukooh might see more usage because of it's map attack) BUT in Alpha 3, Ryukooh outclasses Koryuoh.
It has the ever reliable map attack, 2 (!) All attacks with HUGE range (the best of which costs ammo, not energy) and it dodges better than Shin Getter. I used Bullet mainly as an SP battery for focus/valor but he was still as competent as in OGs, mind.
Well, you should give Kusuha's route a run for the Alpha series. Specially if you cannot understand the text. Kusuha's route in Alpha 1 (Super Robot route, that is), 2 and 3 have been translated by MNeindegard over on Gamefaqs.
Ryuukooh's main drawback is not the unit's stats, but the pilot's stats. Kusuha has horrible combat stats. She has an awesome set of seishin though so I tend to customize her to be an SP tank. SP Regen and SP+ all the way. Can spam so much Love its awesome, double damage and everything for my Koryuoh all the way.
@Dralshard This whole song seems to be a throwback to all the super robot themes from the late seventies and eighties. You know, when the songs were just about how awesome the robot was, and how cool its attacks were.
The thing is that stats-wise, Bullet is more proficient in melee (well, in dealing damage overall) than Kusuha, which is why KoRyuOh usually deals more damages than RyuKoOh. Plus, he usually has the Infight skill, which ups his movement range and melee damage. Aside from the pilots' capabilities, RyuKoOh is more like a can-do-anything (Melee and ranged attacks, Map attack, can fly) while KoRyuOh is more like a really fast tank, so he is more practical.
Eh, i found that i used both rather equally in both OGs and OG Gaiden. Ryuukooh when I'm facing a cluster of enemies(or flying above water) or when i need a stronger hit against a boss. Koryuuoh for fight the cannon fodder enemies or holding a boss at bay with Bunshin.
RyuKoOh has 3 aesthetic and 3 technical advantages over KoRyuOh: 1) Map Attack 2) Flight Capability 3) Longer attack rang 4) Fucking CHINESE DRAGON ROBOT 5) More dramatic attacks Whereas KoRyuOh has 4 technical advantages and 1 aesthetic one: 1) Stronger attacks 2) Larger range of movement 3) Uses less energy 4) All of its attacks can be used after moving 5) Gurren Lagann reference Which one is better? That's up to you. However, if you ask me, I say they got evened out in OGG.
And if you take the time to upgrade both Koryuoh's and Ryukooh's ultimate attacks to the max, you realize Koryu's ends up becoming stronger in the long run.
Yeah, the dragon ends up being completely overshadowed by the tiger.
the name of this song i an Invicible.

Honestly I just like KoRyuOh more then Ryuukooh. I don't know why, probably because of TIGER KNUCKLE

@Brunom1 I've only played @ and @2 with Real pilots, and @2 with Sanger a bit. I'll have to try some day.

This theme doesn't get much more Super Robot-ish. : D
Dralshard 1 year ago
@Dralshard I dunno, Mazinkaiser's and Gunleon's themes are a bit more Super Robotish, but this is pretty damn Super Robot-y.
...What the hell are we talking about?

@StormSpotter342 Ahahaha I know what you mean! Sort of like Mazinger Z opening: It was 1:30 mins of how better than everything Mazinger Z was.

Actually, the KoRyuOh came before Gurren Lagann. So if anything, TTGL referenced IT.

KoRyuOh, does overall more damage and is less flashy... Though, I'd hate to be the poor sucker that faces RyuKoOh...
Warlordalexi 1 year ago
The biggest problem, IMO, is that RyuKoOh's only post-movement attacks burn through energy rapidly.
CreepGnome 2 years ago
Koryuoh in my Opinion is more efficient and energy conservative than the RyuKooh..... Faster ang more brutal! ^__^
