just put the guitar jack under the computer (were you put the mic.) than use programm like guitar rig for guitar effects!

There's a number ways:

Use n interface like m-audio's fast track

The easiest is guitar straight to USB - they sell cables for cheap, that plug into your guitar and then the other end goes into the USB port. No drivers needed; straight 'plug and play' (works with almost any program [guitar rig, ableton live, pro tools, ...there's a few free software effects processors ....but you might as well torrent what you can)

PS the Korg Pandora PX5D is really cool, and easy to setup.
