the price when its calculating the gas didnt add up was going at full price still pay more attention you can see it right before he lowers the camera from the ammount you can see it goes into the $2 range when hes at 1 galon which is about the same as what original price didnt see it exactly but this vid is false
@ruedi9090 It's funny to me how people spend so much time analyzing this video and writing out their findings and so rarely read the description or even the other commenters who also came to the same incorrect conclusion.
@44R0N you don't even have to analyze the video, your just REALLY dumb cause the price of gas was $2.85 It said it right on the pump. I didn't have to "analyze" anything. nice try though.
The trick is to reprice the pump, just follow the manager one day to see how it is done.
The trick is getting the key that opens the panel, but they are all the same.
Once you get the key, get a duplicate quickly and return the original.
After that, watch carefully how the state calibrates the pump and just as soon as possible and in the clear, perhaps bathroom? jot down your notes, a hidden recorder is also nice.
This is how it is done and so fraud is not a secret.
last week a gas station had a glitch in there system and i got gas for 0.34 a gallon rather then 3.40 a gallon so i filled me truck up for 8.84 it was the most amazining thing this year
@454streetracer Shit, $3.40USD???, this works out at about £0.52GBP a litre, here in the UK we pay £1.34GBP a litre!!! It would be the most amazing thing this year if I paid what you paid on a bad day!
@IPGAuto I certainly paid more than 84 cents a gallon, like the pump read out promised before I ran my card through. It ended up charging me $2.89 a gallon. Of course that was 3 years ago... Now I only wish I could pay $2.89 a gallon!
@44R0N - I see. Yeah agreed. It'll go down soon though cause FTC is investigating over-priced gas because oil/gas companies were showing large profits. Ah oH!
@44R0N Here's a little tip for ya, these gas stations always have a larger sign out front with the posted prices. That is what they go by no matter what it says on the pump. Stop complaining about not getting gas for 84 cents a gallon and act like an adult.
@YungJuiceman23 both prices have four real digits, but the only digit in common is the 8. So I don't agree that it's just an error in the display. Should I dislike?
@Freeskies You fucking moron you give American a bad name for stupidity, as you see the advertise gas price was $0.84 cent, but he got basically $3.00 a gallon you prick
I cant believe how cheap fuel is in america ($2.89 a gallon, not the 84 cents). In Australia Im paying $1.33 a litre (down from $1.65 a year ago) which works out to be about $5 a gallon!!! However at one point New Zealand was paying around $12 a gallon
@sowwhatwhen In the US, we're up by about a dollar to around $3.65/gal now. Did you convert currency for those comparisons? It looks like 1NZD=.75USD so I guess that's even worse for you.
@sowwhatwhen why is it so high? government or supply or what ??
We have to drive alot in this country cause everything is so far away. $12 would be crippling! $4 is already ridiciulous. 9 years ago i was in high school and price was around $.96 or 1.10. *sigh*
@japierce15 the government takes 40 cent a litre, plus 10% of the final price plus a few other taxes. We have plenty of oil being extracted in Australia, its just our oil price is linked to the Singaporean market for some stupid reason. And our current government wants to bring in a carbon tax to offset our emissions. Great idea especially when China and India are bringing a coal powered plant online everyday between them....and it bloody Aussie coal we're giving them! A carbon tax could put it
@japierce15 We are extracting more than enough oil to cover our market, but for some stupid reason we are linked to the Singaporean market. The government takes around 60 cents a litre (about $2.40 a gallon, greedy bastards). And now they want to bring in a carbon tax that could push petrol to near on $2 a litre! If your a lower class citizen in Oz, your pretty much screwed. Right now petrol is sitting around $1.55 (about $6 a gallon).
@sowwhatwhen my god! federal taxes are like 20 cents/gal, each state tax is different though, ohio is around 40 cents i think per gallon. i guess the reason we have such "cheap" gas is we've managed to fight off the communists who keep trying to force us to ride trains, bikes, and buses in the name of the fraud called climate change. I"m not riding in anything but my cars - Period!
@japierce15 Our government is stupid. They are actually in the process of shutting down the last oil refinery so fuel is now gonna have to be shipped in. Also regular unleaded RON91 is being phased out making everyone having to buy RON 95 which is about 10cents a litre more expensive. By the way public transport in oz is really bad
The clerk changing the price did it wrong. This person did not check after price change. Or there is something wrong with the PPU (digital display of price per gallon)
FULL OF SHIT, THIS IS A GILBARCO ADVANTAGE DISPENSER AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PRICE AT THE PUMP AFTER IT IS CONNECTED TO THE POS EQUIPMENT, WHICH IT IS. MORONS, LOL
@csabi72 well who's going to watch a video called "faulty meter"? I mean, I certainly wouldn't have used that gas pump if it had said "faulty meter"... No, I used that pump because it said "Gas 84 cents a gallon"! That's something that get's a person's attention, I can attest to that.
I felt rather godly, swiping my card of debt, and selecting regular grade for 84 cents a gallon, but indeed I was shunned, for whoa, I did not receive a gallon for 89 cents, and so I sook vengeance on the purveyors of the establishment by posting this righteous video, and lo, for I was shunned once more.
you are a moron. this clearly shows the full price for the gallon as you pump it just because the one meter is faulty doesnt mean you are paying less. Dumbass.
I'm a moron because I believed the posted price and ran my card to pump gas. And, I'm a dumbass because I decided to go ahead and run the pump when the new higher price registered. Then what does that make you for believing a gas station can post what ever they want to get you to come buy their gas?
Yeah I know. I wish I could have looked 00:32 seconds into the future to know it was going to charge me $3 a gallon before I even went to that gas station.
Well, I was just rounding up since $2.859 (the number at the bottom that showed up after I put in my credit card and chose the 87 oct) was so much more than the $.84 that the pump first promised.
Statistically, I think I had a better chance of being struck by lightning and having that ignite the fumes.
Besides, do you fill up with a cell phone in your pocket? The cell phone ringing is what's supposed to create the spark, so what if it rings while it's in your pocket next to the pump nozzle? Technically, it's safer to be shooting video with it up high at eye level than to have it down at spout level waiting for a call.
@Legendsracer1 Haven't you watched mythbusters? They proved that a cell phone can't cause a fire at the pumps. What mostly causes fires is static from you getting out of your car and causing a spark from static.
Where I live is in the middle of the country, with steap hills, and county lanes, where i live if you havent got a car then you cant get any shopping, or less you like to relie on the local bus's which i can say they dont always turn up on time,
LAME!! It's only showing that low by the button, when the pump actually turned on you can see the actual price is $2.85. You can verify this in the last 10 seconds of the vid when they finally pump a gallon of gas the dollar amount shows almost $3.00
its still ok. its at .75 the liter. (i divided by 4 am i correct?) anyways. in here in puerto rico the past months had been on 1.07-1.10 the liter so multiply it by 4 and it gives 4.40 the gallon. steal haa!?:|
most of the petrol doesn't come from USA, it really comes from colombia so i dont really know the prices from the barrel. i just know that last year was at 1.10 per liter (premium one). starting january was about 45 cents per liter but its going up again. its about 60 cents per liter. so were kinda F***ed up... again! :D
(mad) and your moaning at the cost of gas (petrol) where i am in the uk petrol (gas) as you called it is at £115.9pence per liter, be lucky its cheeper then us in the uk
It's true that our gasoline costs a lot less than your petroleum product. I remember working for a week in Germany, using half a tank and paying almost $100us for it. But what kinds of distances are commuted in the UK? I pay $45 to $55us a week and my 50 miles a day is about average among my coworkers. Don't get me wrong, I like high gas prices! The sooner we can bury the oil companies and get electric cars the better. I'm just watching out for the scalpers in the mean time.
well my car is a 15.97cc engine, (motor) manual gear box (transmission) I put in my tank (full tank) £50 uk every 2 weeks, which converted in us dollers is $ 91.64< lasts 14 days devide that by 2 = 45.82 dollers a week, of total millage 397miles then u devide that by 14 days which gives you 28.35 miles per day, its all ruff workings out as i dont watch the mileage,
My car gets just slightly better milage than that, so we spend about the same amount of money on gas per week, I use more, you pay more per unit. Would you say your gas consumption is about average for your area? In my area I think I'm average but I drive more and don't have an SUV (well I'm sure about the SUV part).
I am sure that some where on the face of the pump there is a number posted for the State Department of Weights and Measures. If you where to call that number and tell them of your complaint/ experience. They are required to check on your complaint, to see if it is valid. I know out here they will charge fines of 300 to 500 per occurance. If you look at your video, you can see the departments sticker that shows you when the pumps calibration was last certified by them.
But even if you called the Department of Weights and Measures and they handed him a $500 fine, that wouldn't help anything. I bet this guy is making WAY more than $500 every day on this cheap trick. He's stealing $2.00 per gallon from everyone filling up!!
That's right, the gas station owner wouldn't even call a repairman, such as yourself, for a problem like this because it works in his favor. The more problems like this that arise, the less the owners need repairmen.
However, the more people knew how to "fix" the pumps, even if they "fixed" them to their own advantage, the more a real repairman would get called by the owners, insuring the repairman's livelyhoods.
I totally agree; you can imagine how outraged I was when it happened to me!
I got lured into using 87 octain, and then found out the cost was over 2 dollars more per gallon! I had already been screwed out of $4 by the time I realized what was going on! That's almost an hour's worth of work at a minimum wage job! I complained to the source but nobody cared.
well you might have just pressed the octane button, but every other ape on the planet beats the hell out of them..... I work on these things, and it is amazing the amount of abuse that they can take. With repeated use, and abuse, the cables work their way out of the back of the display, and just before they fall completely out and there is NO price, it will show the wrong price when only some not all of the pins in the connector are touching. sorry if I said YOU did it.
Oh, no problem, I'm sure those "people" using the pumps must be annoying.
So if you work on these gas pumps, then you must know how to change the price on them. For some reason I've been getting about 100 views a day on this simple video I shot. You should post on here how to fix this problem and make the actual cost match the price per gallon, and a way to fix the posted cost too. Then victims of this gas pump, such as myself, would have a way to make things right.
Dude your a dumb, there is a cable on the side of the display inside the pump that backs out of the socket when people pound on the octane button. That is all it is. So when you beat on the pump, its your own damn fault it has shows the wrong price.
Sorry for not understanding, but what the hell are you talking about?
I've never been accused of such an array of things at one time.
When was it that you think I beat on the pump? Why would I want to do that? And why would a disconnected cable make the display show an incorrect amount rather than nothing at all?
The only thing at this station I ever struck on was the tire pump machine because it stole my 50¢ and that was less of a beating and more of a kicking. No refund then either!
I did and I showed them the video but they yelled FAKE at me and I got all embarrested and told them I was putting it on youtube and it happened all over again.
lol 1 liter in finland costs around 1.6-1.8€ (more than 2 dollars) and 1 liter is like 3+ times less than 1 gallon

@zrafferty if this video is false, then the evidence in it that you site from it is false as well. Therefore, your conclusion is false.

Gas credits can also work in places that do this.
The trouble is that this is a slow process, normally.
Lets say you are the clerk at the local gas-n-go.
Quite a few people will not have the gas-n-go dongle and simply want to pay with cash.
You, the clerk, have at your disposal, half a dozen dongles on your key chain in consecutive order.
You swipe them in order, completing a circle every 6 customers.
Over the period of a day you have dozens of credits.
More than one to cover your actions.

@Legendsracer1 Haven't you watched mythbusters? They proved that a cell phone can't cause a fire at the pumps. What mostly causes fires is static from you getting out of your car and causing a spark from static.

Where I live is in the middle of the country, with steap hills, and county lanes, where i live if you havent got a car then you cant get any shopping, or less you like to relie on the local bus's which i can say they dont always turn up on time,
bluethunder716 3 years ago
LAME!! It's only showing that low by the button, when the pump actually turned on you can see the actual price is $2.85. You can verify this in the last 10 seconds of the vid when they finally pump a gallon of gas the dollar amount shows almost $3.00

Yeah that totally sucked, didn't it?!?
44R0N 3 years ago
its still ok. its at .75 the liter. (i divided by 4 am i correct?) anyways. in here in puerto rico the past months had been on 1.07-1.10 the liter so multiply it by 4 and it gives 4.40 the gallon. steal haa!?:|
elchicoboy 3 years ago
yeah, 4 liters is pretty close to 1 gallon.
What were your prices like last year when the US was at $3-4/gal? In this part of the US it's around $1.75/gal right now.
44R0N 3 years ago
most of the petrol doesn't come from USA, it really comes from colombia so i dont really know the prices from the barrel. i just know that last year was at 1.10 per liter (premium one). starting january was about 45 cents per liter but its going up again. its about 60 cents per liter. so were kinda F***ed up... again! :D

(mad) and your moaning at the cost of gas (petrol) where i am in the uk petrol (gas) as you called it is at £115.9pence per liter, be lucky its cheeper then us in the uk
bluethunder716 3 years ago
It's true that our gasoline costs a lot less than your petroleum product. I remember working for a week in Germany, using half a tank and paying almost $100us for it. But what kinds of distances are commuted in the UK? I pay $45 to $55us a week and my 50 miles a day is about average among my coworkers. Don't get me wrong, I like high gas prices! The sooner we can bury the oil companies and get electric cars the better. I'm just watching out for the scalpers in the mean time.
44R0N 3 years ago
well my car is a 15.97cc engine, (motor) manual gear box (transmission) I put in my tank (full tank) £50 uk every 2 weeks, which converted in us dollers is $ 91.64< lasts 14 days devide that by 2 = 45.82 dollers a week, of total millage 397miles then u devide that by 14 days which gives you 28.35 miles per day, its all ruff workings out as i dont watch the mileage,
bluethunder716 3 years ago
My car gets just slightly better milage than that, so we spend about the same amount of money on gas per week, I use more, you pay more per unit. Would you say your gas consumption is about average for your area? In my area I think I'm average but I drive more and don't have an SUV (well I'm sure about the SUV part).

I am sure that some where on the face of the pump there is a number posted for the State Department of Weights and Measures. If you where to call that number and tell them of your complaint/ experience. They are required to check on your complaint, to see if it is valid. I know out here they will charge fines of 300 to 500 per occurance. If you look at your video, you can see the departments sticker that shows you when the pumps calibration was last certified by them.
nsaanity 3 years ago
But even if you called the Department of Weights and Measures and they handed him a $500 fine, that wouldn't help anything. I bet this guy is making WAY more than $500 every day on this cheap trick. He's stealing $2.00 per gallon from everyone filling up!!
nathanshirley 3 years ago
for some reason I highly doubt he owner of the gas station would want everyone opening up and "working" on his pumps for him.
nsaanity 3 years ago
right, because then the pumps would work, and the station owner's scam wouldn't work.
nathanshirley 3 years ago
That's right, the gas station owner wouldn't even call a repairman, such as yourself, for a problem like this because it works in his favor. The more problems like this that arise, the less the owners need repairmen.
However, the more people knew how to "fix" the pumps, even if they "fixed" them to their own advantage, the more a real repairman would get called by the owners, insuring the repairman's livelyhoods.

what the fuck kinda shit is this anyway??gotta be the dumbest video ive ever seen!!
1highplains 3 years ago
I totally agree; you can imagine how outraged I was when it happened to me!
I got lured into using 87 octain, and then found out the cost was over 2 dollars more per gallon! I had already been screwed out of $4 by the time I realized what was going on! That's almost an hour's worth of work at a minimum wage job! I complained to the source but nobody cared.
Someone should do something to fix this!
44R0N 3 years ago
well you might have just pressed the octane button, but every other ape on the planet beats the hell out of them..... I work on these things, and it is amazing the amount of abuse that they can take. With repeated use, and abuse, the cables work their way out of the back of the display, and just before they fall completely out and there is NO price, it will show the wrong price when only some not all of the pins in the connector are touching. sorry if I said YOU did it.
nsaanity 3 years ago
Oh, no problem, I'm sure those "people" using the pumps must be annoying.
So if you work on these gas pumps, then you must know how to change the price on them. For some reason I've been getting about 100 views a day on this simple video I shot. You should post on here how to fix this problem and make the actual cost match the price per gallon, and a way to fix the posted cost too. Then victims of this gas pump, such as myself, would have a way to make things right.
You'd be a hero!
44R0N 3 years ago
Dude your a dumb, there is a cable on the side of the display inside the pump that backs out of the socket when people pound on the octane button. That is all it is. So when you beat on the pump, its your own damn fault it has shows the wrong price.
nsaanity 3 years ago
Sorry for not understanding, but what the hell are you talking about?
I've never been accused of such an array of things at one time.
When was it that you think I beat on the pump? Why would I want to do that? And why would a disconnected cable make the display show an incorrect amount rather than nothing at all?
The only thing at this station I ever struck on was the tire pump machine because it stole my 50¢ and that was less of a beating and more of a kicking. No refund then either!
44R0N 3 years ago
FAKE YOU PAID 2.859 PER GALLON NICE TRY
MATTMANAZ1 3 years ago
I know right? I clicked on the octane that said 0.848 and it charged me 2 extra dollars per gallon! Bait and switch.
44R0N 3 years ago
I would of gone in and bitched cause they have to give you what the pump says,
MATTMANAZ1 3 years ago
I did and I showed them the video but they yelled FAKE at me and I got all embarrested and told them I was putting it on youtube and it happened all over again.
