  • Does this feather boa clash with my combat boots?

  • Only the socialist queers speak with a lisp. It is their calling card.

  • It seems to me that one question is not being asked: What exactly is involved in 'implementing' a law that is struck down? What do they have to do, other than STOP doing what they've been doing (investigating and firing soldiers) in order to simply allow soldiers do the job they are trained to do? WHAT IS IMPLEMENTATION other than a meaningless stalling point?

  • Adm mullen is a very cool guy

  • I didn't hear the U.S. military complaining when the British military among others joined our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, a military that has openly gay men and women fighting alongside our own. Where was the lack of cohesion and morale then?

  • @VolgaTatar

That's because the British military soldiers DIDN"T SLEEP or SHOWER with our guys! They had their OWN showers and sleeping arrangements. No one CARES if someone is gay or not...BUT we do NOT want to KNOW about it, one way or the other!

  • @chiefpayne568

Forget about showers. That's not an important issue. The important issue is our national security. It is undermined by making gay soldiers lie. Because soldiers, officers and generals who have secrets can be easily blackmailed by foreign intelligence services. That's why DADT is a threat to our national security. This is much more important than someone's comfort in the shower.

  • @VolgaTatar so kick them out if there gay and there's no threat.

  • What about bisexuals and transexual and transvestites? Are they just lumped in with gays and lesbians? Can anyone tell me if transexuals and transvestites can currently serve? What uniforms should the transvestites where--or should they be issued both uniforms and where whichever one they feel like that day??

  • You know what, I am a 100% straight female, but why in the world is the military jobs able to discriminate against gay people. IF YOU APPLIED AT WALMART AND THEY SAID SORRY NOPE YOU ARE A LESBIAN, you would have a HELLUVA law suit on your hands. *Shakes head* DADT makes no sense.

  • @DownAzzGirlE

If you worked at WalMart, you wouldn't have to shower or even room with your workmates. POOR comparison.

  • @chiefpayne568 and yet if you did, its none of your business. being gay straight or bisexual does not mean they are horny monkeys who are going to jump on people !! It is no ones business as long as they have a clean bill of health !! & Im a straight woman

  • What is it with you progressives not everything is a civil rights or equal protection issue. Remember the boy who cried wolf.

  • Congress is forcing a dangerous progressive social experiment on our troops. Why should our armed forces be at a higher risk of contracting AIDS? If a queer is shot the straights will let him die.

  • So the top brass have fumbled this one recanting that mistakenly policy that servicemen in violation of DADT would not be discharged. He says he's simply not enforcing DADT? He's actively trying to undermine DADT? Courtmartial the son of a bitch. DADT is still the military policy. How do you know faggots and dykes are in the military? Doesn't your outing them violate DADT?

  • I don't get my morals from Congress. These are the same people who think healthcare is a right and not a privilege. I am supposed to be empathetic? Fuck that!

  • I suppose you also believe police and fire protection to be "privileges"? Of course healthcare should be considered a right.

  • The females senators think that because criminals exist that makes the law invalid? What hippie commune did they grow up in? We have the rule of law, not anarchy. Liberalism is a mental disorder. I guess we should legalize drugs and give amnesty to illegals then with that illogic. So apparently our laws mean nothing? Moral nihilists in Congress? I guess law and justice are obsolete "moral" concept then. Ironically they claim gays in the military is a "moral imperative"? They never explain why.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

When we were passing Civil Rights legislation, did we do a STUDY to see how the whites would respond if blacks were given equal rights? During the suffrage movement, did they do a STUDY to see if men wanted women to have the right to vote? Did Lincoln commission a STUDY to see if people would have a problem with the idea of abolishing slavery? This is BS.

  • It's just morally wrong to ask people to lie. You have to get rid of don't ask don't tell. It promotes hate and segregation.

  • Thank you, sir

  • That talk about personal integrity and institutional integrity is going to get absolutely nowhere with McCain in particular and Republicans in general.

  • So the military is to not have integrity? This isn't the boyscouts. Homosexuals destroyed that organization's integrity. So you hate the military is that it? You think the military is deserving of disrespect? You don't deserve the freedoms the military fights so hard to protect then. Go live in China then. Leave us alone faggot!

  • if conservatardse are so concerned about openly gay people fighting for america then why arent they even more concerned about the ones who are secretly gay and hiding it?????

if republiloons actually thought this was an issue they would be finding ways to crack down and find the secret homos like forcing the milirary to watch gay porn and see who gets a boner.

maybe some prominent anti gay fighters would volunteer to inspect their penises during the porno viewing.

im sure they would love it!!

  • @mostercri: Great idea! I've shown gay porn to some of my straight friends and much to their surprise they became physically aroused. I'm not really trying to make a point...just saying it was an amusing experiment.

As for DADT, it's time we got rid of it and started living up to our high ideals about equality, honor and freedom.

  • You are trying to recruit more faggots. Feminized men. Weak men. Take your reconstructing masculinity social experiments back to the colleges. Leave the military alone.

  • You can show gay porn to those who serve with you. You are very very dumb indeed. See we know that's what faggots love to do.

  • I'm a guy so I like porn. I'm a gay guy so I like gay porn. Duh.

Don't Ask Don't Tell is coming to an end. Deal with it.

  • Why must everybody know your sexuality? That should remain private. I am interested in nobody's sex life but my own. I don't care about sex scandals. Sexuality is not a public affair. Why emphasize that which is irrelevant to a military career? It says you are cruising for dicks not serving your country. Do you expect to be respected? You are not acting respectable.

  • True, a person's sexuality is his own private business...to be as open or as secretive about as he chooses. But unless you're ready to give dishonorable discharges to every straight soldier who mentions his wife, his girlfriend or how attractive he finds a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, then you'd better not threaten a gay soldier for mentioning his partner, his boyfriend or his attraction to Johnny Depp.

  • Serve openly. It means you constantly remind everyone of irrelevancies. It's like the female who want to constantly call attention to the fact she's a female. It's like the black who needs to constantly remind everybody that he's black. It's annoying and ruins unit cohesion. To define yourself as anything other than a member of the army is troublesome. I have problems with them being open when they flaunt or advertise their sexuality.

  • So it's settled. Straight soldiers will have to keep their sexual identities secret too.

  • They do. Straight men are not excessively libidinous. Straight men are trying to recruit heterosexuals. Mentioning their lover is fine. Conflict and cohesion become affected only when sexuality is allowed to be public. You don't want to be thought of disrespectfully as "that gay recruit".

  • Being thought of as "that gay recruit" isn't necessarily disrespectful. There's nothing wrong with being gay. Once DADT is abolished people will get used to the idea of gay soldiers just like they got used to the idea of female and black soldiers. And nobody's suggesting we be allowed to fuck in the mess hall...only that we be allowed to mention our same-sex lovers without fear of losing our jobs. I don't think you have as much of a problem with gay soldiers as you pretend.

  • Being defined by sexuality and not by7 military ability or rank is disrespectful. You wouldn't get a degree and want to be known as that gay guy would you?

I do when they do not fall in line with military regulations. We can't tolerate denigration of military values and customs. That weakens the military. Laws need to be obeyed not disobeyed and mocked. It's the same with illegal immigration.

  • Sure I'd want to be known as the best soldier...or at least the best soldier I could be. But there's nothing wrong with also being the gay soldier or the left-handed soldier or the red haired soldier. None of those traits has anything to do with ability. As for "denigration of military values & customs", times change and attitudes have to change with them. Slavery used to be a custom too. When laws are wrong they must be rewritten. Enough debate. Let's see what happens when DADT is abolished.

  • We don't allow sex in public. Why would we allow sexuality in public? It follows logically.

  • Why business is it of the government who employers may hire? It's up to the employers. Diversity is unconstitutional as it creates an unofficial quota in my opinion. You can't tell an employer they must hire dykes.

  • This feels like a historic moment -- the nation's highest military officer is calling for equality! And expressing a personal lack of homophobia. It's amazing to me.

  • @SubmarinerAndroid equality is irrelevant to a fighting force. DADT works just fine. There is no compelling reason to overturn it. If it has flaws we need the same laws that Arizona has to deal with illegals to keep queers out. Congress has no right to prempt the study. Separation of powers. The military makes it's own policy. It isn't for progressives in Congress to push tolerance of AIDS advocates in the military.

  • @SubmarinerAndroid this squid admiral is like all naval officers, a stuck up prissy spoiled bitch who's opinion is Bullshit. the Commandant of the Marine Corps and Army Chief of staff dispute this A-hole's opinion and they matter more cause the Navy hasn't done shit as far as fighting since WWII.

  • @rugger8541 marine corps is now the most aggressive recruiters of homos and heteros. i guess that group of top brass has evolved . have you?

  • I lived on an aircraft carrier for two years. There were tons of gay guys, but noone made me feel uncomfortable; noone on the ship got raped. It was a non-problem.

  • @ONQproductions It's always nice to read the opinion of someone with your sort of perspective.

  • @ONQproductions Those with AIDS must bge rejected. Any openly queer must be AIDS tested by the military.

  • @ToxicOdiousOne Again, having been in the Navy, I can tell you for a fact that ALL military personnel are tested for AIDS, regularly. You almost certainly have been, too. Because, AIDS and HIV are not exclusive to the LGBT community.

  • @ONQproductions

Indeed you ARE...but only ONCE a year...and you KNOW that! SO...if someone is a practising homosexual...HOW many other soldiers could they infect by bleeding on them or thru sexual intercourse before it is caught???

Of course if DADT is repealed, then I would assume the would be an increase in testing.

  • @chiefpayne568 DON'T THEY HAVE TO PASS A PHYSICAL before joining?? I would think this would eliminate any transmitted diseases !!

  • @chiefpayne568

    Ok...

if you insist on making this the brunt of you claim, you might want to check out infection rates. In the 80's, when the epidemic began, there was a dramatically higher rate of infection within the gay community. But today, that trend has leveled off, and straight men and women are equally likely to contact aids as gays.

    So.... again, by your logic...

"HOW many other soldiers could they infect by bleeding on them or thru sexual intercourse before it is caught???"

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

    Dude - you know nothing.

Everyone is tested these days. Everyone.

Every time blood is drawn. So...

Everyone entering the military - gay, straight, black, white, yellow, male, female, redhead, blond, italian, left-handed, talks with a lisp - EVERYONE.
