  • Hey terry, how much cushioning was left over after this install? Are the rear seats still comfortable enough to ride on?

  • Righteous in every way!

  • does it still sound good facing downward like that? im thinking of doing the same thing with 2 orion 12's

  • @CTSgaming Anything sounds good in a Jeep with a fiberglass hardtop.. Provide adequate, clean 2 0hm power to one quality 12" sub in a single reflex bandpass enclosure and the BASS will take your breath away.

  • Just 1???

  • could you fit a 12 in there or even 2 12s? or maybe 2 10s?

  • stupid questoin.. but how hard does that hit?lol looks pretty sick

  • I would like to have sex in that back seat...

  • that must be insane to sit on!

  • how does it feel to sit in that seat now?

  • Sick! Showed my mom this and even she likes it. lol Kind of reminds me of my gaming chair, with a 8" sub in the back. lol

  • here's the song ! Jamie Lidell -- A Little Bit More (Luke Vibert Mix)

  • what is the name of that song playing in this video? thanks

  • can you remove the back seat?

  • why buy an automatic jeep?

  • @santorz same reason i had to. im the only one in my family that can drive a standard, if something happened to me, they would be up shit creek w/ my jeep, and wouldnt be able to drive it, but auto jeeps really arent that bad.

  • song??????????

  • I have a design for a sub box and built one that allows for two 12" subs and a 10" sub and also allows for full use of your rear seat and allows the top to fold down. The top hides the box when folded and it also sounds really good.

  • @epiphonedude123 - do you have any photos of this box built and/or installed...or at least a shot of what the design looks like? i'm interested :)

  • Great install on the sub!! Totally stealth and a beautiful job. However, he amp install is crap--was it just temporary? I hope you hid the amp--otherwise, why hide the sub??? Any updates?

  • What's the song

  • sitting there must be like a butt massage

  • this is a great idea!! I got two 10s in the small trunk and it's talking all the space lol

  • could you do this on a tahoe?

  • Haa I Could Imagine Somebody Breaking In Ur Ride Looking For The Sub....

  • What year is your jeep?

  • @DDFJ1230 its a 05 i looked at that form

  • wont that kinda stick out a little out of the cushion and have a hard spot

  • i want to do this on My jeep. But i want to run one sub in the center and a 6x9 on either side of it and some mids in the bottom and some highs in the top and then get the kicker high power dash replacement speakers for the front. and then install the jeep sound pods on the roll bar and stick some 2 way 6 inchers in those and of course have a separate amp for the subs and the other speakers. thats how i want to do Mine but i am lacking the funds. :-(

  • @MrGizmo757 dude 6x9s suck just use 6in insted

  • so if you sit on the side with the speaker, does the box support you? and how comfortable it it?

  • pretty pimp

  • that is a dope set up. love the hidden sub idea.

  • @cuete1500 ya ur mom loves my back seat

  • What's it like to sit in the back? does it work wonders for back trouble? lol

  • its "a little bit more" by jamie lidell

  • its "a little bit more" by jamie lidell

  • That is a great idea. Ive wanted more bass without ruining space. What song is that? I need to know so when I build this I can bump this song first.

  • great job. i'd love to do this in my yj but i'm not about to buy a low profile sub, i'd much rather leave my clarion 12" in between the rear seat and tailgate and spend the money on an arb locker or something

  • This is awesome and exactly what i wana do to my jeep!

Will it work for a 03 rubicon? dont know if yours is a tj or jk. I was thinking about getting started this weekend

  • I dont even know how a studio would allow such a terrible song to be recorded

  • i read the fourm, do you think i could fit 2 subs under the seat?

  • thats slick as shit there...

  • i bet its fun sitting in the back seat.

  • could you put another sub on the other side?

  • i wanna get a jeep wrangler and put a 18 in the back it'd be so sweet

  • Thats amazing. Great use of spare area under seat!!

  • sit there, and get a butt masage

  • Only one?...

  • this is poo

  • @thugggin504 your momma is poo

  • @MrBaymason piss off bitch

  • Luv it!. Thanks to your post on jeepz . com, I was able to do the same. My wife's 98TJ has a little different seat frame configuration, but I redesigned the box and it worked out great! See my version here: upstairsroom . com / jeep / in-seat-subwoofer

  • that is cool, i want it, terrible song though

  • @deanbillssabres LOL I agree, this is one of the worst songs I have ever heard in my life.

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT THE NAME OF THIS MUSIC my brother?

  • great work i checked out your construction page and it looks like you had your work cut out for you. but it paid off!!! nice nice

  • about how much did this cost in total?

  • its badass how you made your box good job

  • great idea!

  • Wow..This is cool. In my Rogue rear seat does not fold like in your jeep but at least you gave me idea and now I'm thinking to install the similar way but in the back of the rear seat. Thanks for write-up and great video.

  • shoudla put two

    nice work man

  • i just bought a 1998 jeep cherokee sport, and my parents are gonna buy me a new kenwood headunit with usb and some jl speakers,no sub, so im buying a sub/amp in one and i may just use this way of hiding it under my back seat, if posible could you either PM me or make a vid on how to do it, preferablly the video haha

  • That's mighty creative of you.

  • i would love to know how you did that

  • @lilyoyo1000

The writeup is at jeepz . com / subwoofer

  • dude that bs i have a soft top and it makes it better cause on the strip its even louder for people out side your jeep!

  • i wanna do the same thing but before i go to all that work, can u feel it or is it muffled because its shooting into the floor

  • ok, im thinking of doing that same thing to my jeep. but im worried that its just going to loosen bolts and screws. has anyone had a problem with that, i have a soft top

  • @spuufy i got ah 98 jeep wrangler with a 12" sub in tha back seat. just chek all your bolts n screws regularly lol. but if u got a good sub you will hear anything rattling around if it is loose.

  • do u think u can place a metal mesh over the sub to better protect it?

  • is there still cushion and stuff in the back seat so its comfy?

  • Hahah dude I got that same head unit in my jeep. Pioneer P6000UB?

  • ok so i have a jeep wrangler and im looking into getting some kind of system for my jeep if its either new speakers or a sub and amp and shit. but some people have told me its pointless and wont have the same affect in a soft top. is that true? or does it sound fine

  • Well being that hard top is an enclosed space your going to get the full effect of your bass and sound system all around.. with a soft top its not as pressurized and bass wont be as powerful. But either way i wouldn't say its pointless. :) go for it dude.

  • @stupidshithead54 itl sound good on the inside. but if u wanna impress every one on the outside like i do, then u wanna get a hardtop for that.

  • Thats badass, how did you do this?

  • Yeah, it was lightly raining.

  • Do you really expect my 4 megapixel Canon point and shoot camera to accurately reproduce the sound of a subwoofer? Come on man, use your brain.

  • My brother did that in his silverado but on the back of the bench of the two seater truck. and that was dumb. but if nobody sits back there on yours thats cOOL!!!

  • what the song is it?

  • I type in "Jeep Wrangler Sound System" and get a bunch of videos of sub boxes in the cargo area..what the hell..any dope can do that..good job..might give it a try!

  • im lookin to get a jeep wrangler but i want the space for a box in the back is your jeep a rio grande?

  • Dude, I love pioneer.

Im getting a better headunit made by them and those subs you have.

    Have they got good bass?

    Like that kicking feeling?

Im planning to get two and powwer em with two JBL amps.

Might also get a seperate sub box.

  • bad placement....dude

you should of put it in a box that was small enought to fit in that small trunk space

  • I think you may have missed the point. I didn't want to give up the only storage space in my Jeep, so I built this. I was able to get a great sounding system without using up my storage space.

  • @stoolet

I'm guessing you didn't bother to read the writeup I did. This is not just a speaker stuffed into a foam seat. It is a custom made enclosure that replaced 80% of the foam in the bottom seat. It matches perfectly with the Pioneer's recommend cubic airspace. The entire writeup is at jeepz . com / subwoofer

Please don't just spam youtube with incorrect posts when you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @terrygmasonjr Everyone on here knows thats just a hole thats been dug out and a speaker that has been shoved in it . Again it looks cool but I would lay everything I own down on it sounding like SHIT!

  • @stoolet did you bother to click on the link under the description labeled "see the full install"? I've posted photos of the box as I built it.

Come on man, use your brain before you post.

  • @stoolet yes it is dude its clearly producing some notes period

  • @stoolet -- That's strange. Seems to work for me. No, it's not the perfect sub box, but for a Wrangler, it's ideal. well hidden, you retain your storage behind the seat, sounds great, etc...

  • @stoolet Its his shit anyways. If it was your car by all means do what you want with it. Its his car so he will do what he wants. This is defineatly the first time ive seen this before so I give him props on it.

  • is the seat still functional?

Im reading all these disses on automatic...

these high school punkasses dont understand that auto has a better and stronger tranny and overdrive then manual.

    JEEP KOOKS....

  • Seat works great - it will still fold and tumble. Only downside is that it's pretty heavy now, makes taking it out more difficult, but still doable.

  • 1 star for auto wrangler

  • Are you serious? Automatics are just as good IF NOT BETTER off road. Check out most of the rock buggies and serious off roaders that are going automatic and ditching the ancient standards. 1 star for being ignorant

  • Sorry man, it's my opinion...and i wasnt trying to be ignorant...sick system though.

  • real drivers row gears. thats my opinion.

not gonna hate if you got an auto though its a mode of transport. i really like the sub though dude!

  • who ever sits there is gettuing a sub up the butt

  • man this is Smart Ass,,,,, sweeet..... i wish i had seen this video bfr,,, darn,,,, but i have a great bass tube.... Its a fusion 10inch.... awesome sound and fits perfectly in the back

  • Who ever is in the back seat gets a free ass massage!

  • Is that the Pioneer TS-Sw2451D? What amp are you running?

  • thanx dude. i was wondering where i could put a subwoofer in my jeep wrangler without losing space and this really helps.

  • auto is badass and im about to get my subs in just like that damm looks sick bro!

  • auto is four pussies!

  • yep haha

  • spelling is four sissys

  • 2 would hit harder, but I was just looking for a good, all around system, not to win any competitions. There is def. room for 2 though. You'll need a good amp to run to of these 10s though - they are power hungry.

  • automatic wrangler, no respect man :(

  • Iv'e owned 3 manual CJs, with this being my first auto. I gotta say I like wheeling an auto better. You can concentrate on your lines more than burning the clutch. What exactly do you not like about the auto?

  • i was kinda joking but for the most part manuals are more manly and fun :)

  • For some Jeep people you have to fit into a certain mold. 4 doors can't join the club. 4 Cyl's can't join the club. Auto's can't join the club.

I wouldn't worry so much about all that. Schematics of mechanics aren't that important. It's your choice of music that's gay. HAHAHA!

  • choice of music i'd have to agree, lol. I have a four cylinder :(, but really its not that bad, i heard more choose them for rock climbing due to lower weight but i love it nomatter

  • And the guy with "Bunnies" for a name can't join the club either. Why does it matter if it is a auto or 4cyl? I only have a 4cyl yj because i can't afford gas but maybe some people can't or just don't like stick.

  • how much rms u running?

  • I wanna sit on the backseat of that lol

  • howd u get the box in there so well? great idea!

  • can you lift up the back seat all the way if you wanted?

  • Yep, It folds up just like stock.

  • smart man!

  • i have an 03 jeep went to quadratec they sell boxes but they dont go in seat some company called q logic sells boxes for this set up but you will need to buy amps subs etc cool man

  • I did a write up on the whole install - at jeepz _dot_ com / subwoofer

  • what kind of head unit is that?

    sick setup btw.

  • It's a Pioneer DEH-P5000UB. Probably the best head unit I've ever had - ipod controls, mp3, sub controls. It rocks.

  • nice setup i. good idea. that sub hit pretty hard. i got two kicker 12 cvrs and two comps im puttin in my jeep with an almani and hifonics amp. check my old system and let me know wat ya think

  • Jamie Lidell - A Little Bit More

  • wats tha song

  • Jamie Lidell - A Little Bit More

  • what amp do u hav on that??

  • It's a really old Phoenix Gold amp. It's got quite a bit of power.

  • whats the name of the song

  • Jamie Lidell - A Little Bit More

  • I bet that back left passenger feels it, great idea though. I think I might do the same.

  • yep, just check out the url at the end of the video to see a step by step process.

  • did you ever think to hide your amp in the box? how do you think that box would react with two 10's in it? or maybe just a 12? i really like your idea but i want to hide the whole system, my jeep is open, just a bikini and i drive it daily and dont want to lose it you know? i got a majority of an idea from your how to and i really like your setup, i'm not worried about the people in my back seat so its all good

  • The amp is too large to fit inside the box - that was my original intention, but that slim sub needs alot of power. The box would be great with 2 10s, but it would have to be a very slim 12 to fit. Hit me up on jeepz(.)com/subwoofer if you have any more questions.

  • Nice! What camera did you use?

  • I used a canon sd450. Great little camera

  • Wow! seemed like it came from a camcorder.

  • hey man. i got a jeep and i was goin to put in a sound system. i havent decided on a deck yet but i think i want bazooka tubes. what do i need to know? where do i need to put them?

  • well how much do u want to spend on the whole set up

  • I'd have to raise the seat about 2 inches to put it under - I still may do that though.

  • i had 2 of those in 12'' they slam

  • i thought about doin that but not under the bottom of the seat

  • thats a good idea i might do that with my jeep because i value my storage space lol

  • Never seen that before...

    That's sweet!

Did you do that your self?

  • yeah, I built it myself. Just go to the url at the end of the video to see the build

  • damn thats sneaky as hell, dont get your shit stolen. great job on the install!
