More people need to see this presentation. I can only theorize about life on other planets, but I'm sure we are not alone out here. I'm also sure we will never find other humans or life forms in my lifetime. Or should I say my molecular gathering in the immeasurable timeline?
Dawkins will one day be thought of as one of the greatest scientists ever. I am sure of this. His ability to communicate the ideas of science and spark interest are without comparison. He will also be known as one of the people who gave religion a final knockout blow, when it finally goes away in the "hopefully" near future.
I agree. And Sagan is well known. I was speaking from a personal standpoint because I was only 10 years old when Sagan died and did not watch cosmos and such until I was much older. Dawkins is one of the reasons why I majored in biochemistry instead of just chemistry and I credit him my complete understanding and passion for the theory of evolution by natural selection.
It is shameful that only 5,400 people saw this on whole world!!! maybe we need more education and wisdom to undestand such simple truths like this.Dawkins is wise and iteligent, yet so simple and understandable.
i wish we could make contact with someone/thing outside our planet, maybe some light could be shed on our origins and help stop us all here arguing amongst ourselves, creating theological myths etc
@Surtak said [[Point taken. The peace prize is a political tool. I don't suppose we could give him a spare one for chemistry? :P]]
An interesting thought; perhaps there can be an alternate prize that isn't so rife with politicalism. After all, awarding Obama the peace prize days after being elected for things he hasn't done yet invalidates the whole idea of the peace prize. Another is awarding one to Jimmy Carter, who actually sided with the PLO.
@Surtak, Besides, the "Nobel Peace Prize" is inherently a joke to begin with. Alfred Nobel invented the peace prize using moneys he collected from his invention of dynamite, which he surmised would be so efficient and devastating that it would end all wars. In other words, Alfred Nobel was simultaneously innovative and foolish, much like the people who now are in charge of electing prize winners.
Some dislike Dawkins for being arrogant, but we all have human flaws and I'm ready to forgive a guy for falling into arrogance when he's THAT clever.

@FellOnSoundGarden I'd say carl sagan can match, if not exceed his articulateness and ability to captivate minds into science.

Dawkins needs a nobel prize.

@Surtak Obama has a nobel prize, guantanamo is still there; why would you devalue Dawkins thusly?
