Karlovic actually has very solid volleys.. You must never watch him play. His backhand and forehand are also solid. The reason why he looks terrible is because of his footwork and footspeed. Tall men like him are almost always terrible with their feet on a tennis court. When he has time to setup his groundstrokes, he loads on them quite well which helped him to his Quarterfinal at Wimbledon. I'm not a fan of his game, but he definately does not have the worst anything really.

Yes, although movement does affect groundstrokes, they are still completely different aspects of the game. It is the same difference between someone like Roddick and Federer. When Roddick gets a pretty good ball, he probably bombs it harder than most guys on the tour, but make him move and he can't do much with the ball, and you aren't going to say Roddick has the worst groundstrokes. Watch some videos on Dr. Ivo when he has some time to setup, he has a pretty solid forehand.
