Gosh i really do miss the gorgeous Elizabeth and Sherri, the true first ladies of wrestling. its ashame that Missy Hyatt wasnt part of the WWF - we have had the first 3 ladies wrestling. Ive never ever seen a woman in wrestling that got ovations like Liz, a true classy lady that we will never see in this sport again. Sherri played the evil so well and all credit to Sherri for allowing Miss Liz to take all the glory. I always wished Vince had found had employed Missy during this era of wrestling!
Miss Elizabeth died of an accidental drug overdose on May 1, 2003....Sensational Sherri passed away from a massive heart attack while on the phone with her mother.
Zeus is worst wrestler ever. Bobby Lashley would destroy him with a chokehold, Sheamus could nail the bicycle kick, Brock Lesnar with the F5, Mark Henry with the Worlds Strongest Slam, Great Khali with the Vise Grip, Samoa Joe with the Coquina Clutch, Bully Ray with the steel chain and the Bully Bomb to the table, Matt Morgan with the Carbon Footprint. Lister could not stop those moves, therefore he would lose to them.
Zeus in wrestling today would job to Mark Henry, Bobby Lashley, Gunner and Murphy, Matt Morgan, Scott Steiner, or Samoa Joe in a match. Joe would kill him with the choke and the muscle buster and he is one of the top ten in pro wrestling today.
Scott Steiner, Matt Morgan, Samoa Joe, Great Khali, Kane, Ezekiel Jackson, Chris Masters, Mark Henry, Sheamus, Batista, Gunner and Murphy, Rob Terry, Magnus, Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, Hernandez, Bully Ray could give Zeus a challenge. I pick Lesnar, Lashley, Henry, Big Zeke, Steiner to take him, even you can throw in Gunner and Murphy or Sheamus in the mix.
LOL @ 1:38- 1:42. You hear Hulk's song come on and expect to see them walking down the aisle then BAM! they're in the ring like sneaky ninjas! btw, Ventura was always my favorite and IMO one of the greatest commentators alongside Gorilla second only to the Brain Bobby Heenan
Sad how a lot of people have forgotten about Savage and his greatness - not everyone though, - anyone who was a real fan back in the 80's and early 90's knows how much Savage carried the workload and sold well for and put over some guys who were inferior to himself in terms of talent, skill and charisma - they're hailed as some of the best ever and thanks to McMahon's "erasing" of history (even with the DVD and action figure releases) Savage has been all but completely forgotten about. Poor.
@craigandjolene Savage/Steamboat anyone? Praised as possibly one of the greatest matches of the Classic Era like this. Ultimate Warrior calls WM7 his greatest match and who was it with? Macho is better than most people give him credit for, I agree
@Gaelek13 Warrior vs savage at WM7 was so much better than any wrestlemania match up to that point. The savage/steamboat match at WM3 was okay, it seems that perception of history is distorted by time; the match at WM3 is only considered great because of the few minuets of quick chain pin attempts other than that it's actually boring.
@brianjmal Wrestlemania VII is called great mostly for Savage dropping like 5 brutal elbow drops and then Warrior popping back up and doing his hideous running shoulder block thingy and winning. And of course for the reunion of Macho and Elizabeth at the end,.
You cannot compare the action NOW to the action THEN. At that time the Save/Steamboat match was very good, but sure, compared to todays standards it isn't. At the time it was very good.
I've simply never seen a woman more beautiful than Miss Elizabeth. Every time I see her, I think how God must have put her together Himself. A true angel. Simply gorgeous. Rest in Peace, Miss Elizabeth. We love you.
The lovely Miss Elizabeth was truly a beauty. God rest her soul. She was so tender that she was just too kind and gentle to play a heel ( even though she did)
@TheSeventhStooge cuz Schiavone had just come from WCW/NWA and they were trying to give him a shot as their new play by play man. They did it again at the 1990 Royal Rumble, but he eventually went right back to WCW.
I think they were trying to groom Schiavone to be Gorilla's eventual replacement. He also did the next Royal Rumble, the one where Hogan and Warrior collided for the first time. I think Schiavone was only in the WWF to be a WCW spy. It was interesting that after his one year contract expired around WrestleMania VI and Schiavone ran back to WCW, they started employing a lot of WWF TV production techniques.
@TheSeventhStooge Comparing Schiavone to Monsoon is like comparing...ya know, never mind, I can't even come up with a feasible comparison to describe exactly how far apart they were. RIP, Gorilla Monsoon.
its cool watching wwe today and looking back and seeing what happened

Macho and Liz were still happily married when Summerslam 89 took place.
And Schiavone had nothing as a commentator.
Holden308 2 years ago 5
Yeah, they'd been married since 1984. Then they were divorced like a year after the on-air "marriage".
And you're right about Schiavone. His wife does pretty good on CNN though.
Germany1111 2 years ago 4
Yeah, I wonder why Gorilla didn't do the commentary for this one. Schiavone was okay, but Monsoon was much, MUCH better.
TheSeventhStooge 2 years ago 13
@TheSeventhStooge What's up with Monsoon not commentating during a PPV?
Schiavone was a poor substitution... it shows too.
