I have to say that the Adagio is my favorite part, but I just have to ask. Those of you that have seen the BBC's "Pride & Prejudice" with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle - isn't this played during the miniseries at some point?

too loud and indulgent??? are you kidding?? this is the way it SHOULD be played! somehow i don't think schubert would have objected to people enjoying his music and being so emotionally involved that they felt the need to writhe. in fact, i suspect he would have considered that a great sign of success.  i understand to the outsider the body motions and exaggerated dynamics seem overindulgent, but trust me, many great musicians consider it integral and wouldn't dream of doing anything less.

Spectacular rendition, and don't leave out the viola. They capture the energy Schubert conveyed, which is no less than the driving force of the cosmos.
